They're bringing back Aqua Teen...again.

I prefer Aqua Teen over Rick and Morty. I never really got the hyped for Rick and Morty to be honest.
-
-
@Shiebs hell flipping yes!

@KageKageKing I really like Solar Opposites even outside of The Wall (like that part is good but imo it's not the sole reason to watch)
I guess to articulate why, it doesn't do the R&M trap of going into "nothing matters wubba lubba dub!!" and also "fine here's the lore, something matters, shut up already" and clash tone all over the place. It's just dumb sci-fi chaos with The Wall being something to give structureinbetween. Plus Korvo (the scientist guy that...Justin also voices) isn't stuck as some impossible-to-beat guy, he gets his ass kicked often.
But anyways yeah, all of these shows aren't reliant on him. They'll go on. Plenty of reactionaries will claim "it went downhill" for R&M or whatever, but I think it kinda hit its cultural peak with season 2/3 and kinda just floundered after.
-
@MetaMario Just to make it clear, I don't hate Solar Opposite because since I never watched it, I can't have a fair opinion on it.
But as an outsider who just have a really small superficial view of the show, it feels like around 2/3 of the things I hear is how about The Wall is like the best subplot ever made in an adult comedy cartoon.
-
Discotek just announced they are going to be releasing The Legend of Calamity Jane on blu ray.
-
Well I wouldn't go that far into absolute titles like that, but it's pretty entertaining. Spans across episodes/seasons, kinda giving the R&M the "lore" they crave, or what have you.
And it's all because Yumyulack shrinks people for petty reasons/boredom

Over the weekend, I watch the new Aqua Teen movie, The movie was really good and I recommend it. It was great seeing Frylock, Shake, Meatwad, and Carl in new stuff. I can't wait until for Season 12 to comes out.
-
I started to watch the new Beavis and Butt-head. So far I watched the new movie and the first couple episodes of the new series. I'm enjoying the new stuff for so far. I did like Daria's cameo in the movie. Of the first couple episodes of the new series, I like that Beavis is getting some character development. Both the Box and Wasp episodes made me laugh really hard.
-
This has been stated already, but the new Puss in Boots is insanely good. Wall to wall crowdpleaser of a movie; looks spectacular, super funny, with real stakes and a tightly written script that pays off over and over in the end. Strikes a perfect tone that doesn't delve into the meta cynicism the Shrek movies often would. I was considering this to be the best thing Dreamworks has ever made until I remembered Prince of Egypt, but may be my favorite of their CG efforts and possibly edging out Turning Red as my favorite 2022 movie.
It's just...so fricking good.
-
The more I hear about this movie, the more I want to watch it!
-
@Riddler If you want a beefy sampler, they've basically uploaded a major chunk of the first act to youtube in its entirety
-
Yeah puss was great, def check it out.
-
Puss in boots was better than it had any right to be
Was not expecting such high quality even after the reviews
-
I don't know if I can get to the theaters, but I'll definitely check it out on streaming.
-
@Satsuki whats wrong with it? Seems like pretty standard cartoon design fare to me
-
@Satsuki Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I can see why those eyes would be off-putting.
-
We are never getting new IPs are we?
-
Incidentally, I should really check out Bluey since people have been raving about how, even for a show for pre-schoolers, it's really good.

It's the fact that it's coming back period.

Still can't grasp if this an anti Barney stance, or an anti reboot stance.
-
BOTH.
-
well to cleanse our palettes of the eventual return of the purple one....
Justice League X RWBY...the crossover no one saw coming since Scooby Doo meets Courage the Cowardly Dog.
-
I saw Sea Beast over the weekend. It's basically HTTYD, but with sea monsters and the script isn't quite as strong. Still, it's not bad. You really feel the intensity and vastness of the ocean and the creatures, and the characters and story work well enough.
Apparently it was directed by Chris Williams who worked on a bunch of Disney films, even co-directing a few.
-
The first half of the film is a lot of fun. Wish they kept the sea beasts being monsters straight instead of having the HTTYD twist.
-
Really wish I could see Marcel the Shell with Shoes on, but right now it's only available to buy for $20, so...nah.
-
Stop-motion really seems to be on a high. To the point of Netflix Pokemon:
And I'm fine with that!
-
Alright, I did manage to see Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.
Cute movie. I don't know if they put Jenny Slate's voice through a modifier or something, but she did a great job of sounding like an actual kid. Other than that, not a whole lot to say. It's only 90 minutes, so definitely worth your time to watch once it becomes free on streaming.
-
I rarely watch Family Guy, but this is a great way to use cameos:
-
They’ve been doing cameos for years either with real actors playing themselves or playing their famous roles.
Part of me has always wished they could get guys like Butch Hartman or Gennedy and all the other ex CN guys Seth used to work with.
-
Amazon Prime has rescued the new Batman series from the douchebags at WB/Discovery that dropped it:

"Animation is cinema. Animation is not a genre." You tell 'em, Guillermo.
-
Another reason why Guillemro Del Toro is my favorite director.
-
I was really glad for him, but I enjoyed Puss in Buts waaaaaay more than his Pinocchio.
I was also glad that they broke the "Let's just give it to the Disney-Pixar conglomerate" tradition for once. Good shit.
-
Hey, I really liked Turning Red, but it just wasn't the best this year.
And I'm happy because A. It's Guillermo del Toro, and B. It's stop-motion. There hasn't been a stop motion winner since Wallace and Grommit.
-
Trailer for Dreamworks' new movie and, wow, it's been a while since they took such a deliberate shit on Disney.
-
The movie didn’t seem like Dreamworks from the trailer. At first, I was thinking Disney/Pixar until they started tossing shade at mermaids. That was pretty Dreamworks like. Then the end I got more Hotel Transylvania vibes, or some other company just not Dreamworks.
-
Not sure what to think of this:
"This man is like Marvin Gaye to white people" did crack me up though.
-
All 13 episodes of The Legend of Calamity Jane is now on Tubi. Only the first 3 episodes of the series have aired on US tv, so this is the first time ever for Episodes 4 - 13 to be available.
-
omg Unicorn Warriors looks AMAZING. absolutely most design joices left me "whaaaa???" fr. want to know more about the characters and setting asap
-
-
VERY cool. But where do the unicorns come in?
-
I had to close the tab around the 30 seconds mark because I'm SOLD. I want to go in as blind as possible
-
The Season 2 trailer of the new Beavis and Butthead is out,
-
@pariston_hill I didn't even know Genndy was making another show. Hmm, but what does this mean for Primal?
Oh well, he's one of my all-time favorite animators, so I'll be there for it.
