The dialogue between piccolo and nail always makes me laugh. This one didn't disappoint.
Hopefully the rest of the episode will come out this week.

Episode 37 on Blip here.
"Shh… just calm down... relax... and think about............... Namek"
Mundane episode until 6:01 and BAM that shit had me on the floor lol.
Trunks is hilarious so far.
Yeah, the second half definitely made up for a so-so first half (loved Trunks arguing with everyone about them not being the androids).
I dunno. I think there's a few too many one-liners being thrown around.
The one-liners were pretty great.
"Anybody else feel like we overtrained for this?"
"SEMANTICS!"
Also, the part of Vegeta reacting wasn't too far off from this XD
This episode had me doubled over with gut wrenching laughter. I found nothing mundane about it in the slightest. As a matter of fact I'm not even finished I had to turn it off cuz I'm at work and laughing too hard. I stopped with trunks arguing about the androids.
And now the woman's here!
Nail is awesome.
Really makes me wish HBi2K was still doing his own material. Berserk, Gantz and Escaflowne abridged are all still great.
Trunk's comment about Chiaotzu and Yajirobe's lines about Hitler and the senzu bean diet had me cracked way too much.
"Mr. Piccolooooooooooooooooooo… Oh, never mind."
"Gom Gom pistol." "That sounds dirty."
I love the abridged Dr. Gero.
It's a pity he wont be around much longer.
This has been their best episode since the end of season 2.
I feel like everyone is ignoring the hilarious exchange between Vegeta and Krillin.
Vegeta- "Anyone else feel like we over trained for this?"
Krillin-" Tell me about I-"
Vegeta- "No SHUT UP!"
I wonder if they forgot about the Owned Count? That should have added to it to be honest.
The owned count kind of hit its peak when Frieza juggled him on his horn and then killed him a couple times.
After that point Krillin's getting knocked around reduces dramatically so… not a whole lot of need to keep that joke up. it'll be better as a surprise after a long absence later. I'm sure stuff will happen with 18.

Vegeta- "Anyone else feel like we over trained for this?"
Krillin-" Tell me about I-"

I really did like the opening line in that. I honestly find some of the funniest stuff being when instead of overly dramatic lines like in the original we get really casual lines that everyone thinks in their heads like that.
I like that kind of humor.
I also loved Gero adding in the Trunks "no he's not!" back n forth.
They're doing Trunks perfectly now, making him super serious but giving him really goofy conversations to play straight.
The Chaotsu bit had me lauging out loud.
"oh no chaotzu is dead…...and he really let himself go"-Trunks
yeah
also gohan lampshade hanging is always hilarious
So yeah this
Fuck, Gohan tripping the fuck off was pretty damn creepy. Hilariously creepy. And creepily hilarious.
You know, before I posted it I thought it was the second Garlic Jr movie.
I miss the early movie abridgings - shitty sound quality and questionable casting and all
Pretty disappointing as far as DBZ abridged goes but I did like that the stupidity of trying to kill Kami and kidnapping Gohan was pointed out.
Best line though: "I dropped by to see my grandson!…also, money for you guys to live."
@Cyan:

There is no second Garlic Jr. movie.
…..is there?
Anyway, really glad we got an updated version with better sound quality and writing. Garlic's henchmen were pretty great, as was Krillin talking with Nappa at the end (Skygina, lol)
Where did the part with Popo eating Garlic Jr come from, that was either a movie or a filler arc.

Was from their skipping the entire Garlic Jr. arc between Namek and the Androids.

From the filler arc after Frieza before the androids. It was only a couple episodes, (I wanna say 6? Maybe 10?) so it was sort of movie length, but still pretty short… but it aired on CN quite a bit purely as a result of when it happened (A standalone batch of new episodes when the overall episode count was still closer to 100 than 291.) .... and they marathoned the whole thing in one sitting a couple times.
(Also it had the random purple dragon show up in it... cause it was filler so they could.)
They apparently thought the only part of it worth abridging was Marron's breasts. I agree with that.
At the same time, its kind of a shame, because it would be kind of fun to see what they'd do exactly with that story... but it does retread a LOT of the elements of the movie... and it kind of lacks Goku and Vegeta the entire arc.
Good shit lol. I'm loving the idea of revived Nappa working in LA or whatever.
Best line though: "I dropped by to see my grandson!…also, money for you guys to live."
I swear everyone forgets that Goku lives off the money from winning tournaments. Chi-chi said so in the Buu arc, it's why she wants Gohan to enter again.

No he doesn't.
1)The prize money completely gets blown funding just one Goku sized meal.
2)He only won the third one he participated in.
3) He didn't participate in any again until after Gohan grew up.
The prize may have been inflated by the time of Mr. Satan world savior, (though that prize went to 18 and Krillin) but… there's a reason they were always just sort of living in a hut in the woods and living off the land. (Goku goes fishing, you know.)
Bulma's super rich, (And so was Ox King, but that may have gone away when his palace was destroyed) she could have covered for him whenever if they'd ever asked... but its pretty obvious they always lived on meager means anyway.

Yes they do:

On a side note, it probably doesn't cost them that much to live anyway. We see that they have a garden and Goku goes hunting, gathers wood, etc.
If Bulma gave them that house then they were pretty much set.
That may be how they justified throwing Gohan into the training arc then, but its not how it worked earlier in the series.

Though I suppose they kept increasing the prize amount, and Goku married Chichi after his third tournament, so she may have managed that money rather than letting it all go to one big meal like previous winnings. Still would have needed to make that last for for like 18 years though.
Maybe that restaurant was just very expensive?
I'm just gonna assume the prize money went up, we see how Mister Satan lives.

Mostly its that Goku ordered so much food he ate everything in the restaurant.
Though that's stated to be 470,000 zeni, while the later tourney prize is apparently 15 million… so yes, the prize amount increased.
(Though Mr. Satan's wealth was based on his "world savior" status more than the prize winnings, since he was able to throw double the prize at 18 for throwing it.)

I'm pretty sure that's a mistranslation. Chichi says "otou" there which probably refers to her father as opposed to Gokuh since I don't think he could have been said to have any fortune or assets and she usually doesn't refer to him as "your father" or anything like that.

I don't know man. I'm not a doctor, it makes sense either way: Either Ox King is going broke with Goku eating (which I doubt since he is a king, but still hilarious), or Goku got a hefty amount of money from winning and it finally ran dry after 20 years.
I'm going with Robby here and Shinpan that it's probably a mistranslation since as far as I remember, they never kept the money from the old tournaments for long. No idea what happened to the money after the piccolo tournament though.

Like I said, I seriously doubt Ox King would stop giving them money. And Toriyama has implied that they take care of themselves (Goku and Chichi have giant raddish garden).
but then, there's this page:
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/dragon_ball/v28/c336/12.html
Chi-chi says Goku hasn't earned a cent since their marriage, which is after the Budokai, so she probably was speaking about her father.

This scan is better and she does say "father", so yeah, it is Ox King's money. My bad. :T
Again, Ox King may have been a king… once... but his entire palace was kind of destroyed... and probably any riches within it as well.
What kind of king doesn't have a hefty bank account and a summer castle?

Winning what.
There's zero suggestion he lives off tournaments.

What kind of king doesn't have a hefty bank account and a summer castle?
The kind that is more of a mythical warlord monster man and not an actual king.
Of which there is only one real one in Dragonball anyway.

He had subjects and a castle. I remember a party? Or was that just the weeding that screamed hexagon filler?
So, this means that Gohan is an heir prince?

Filler as fuck lol.
You know, on the whole thing with Chi-Chi claiming that they got money from Goku's tournament-victory which turned out to be a mistranslation… Funnily enough, I was reading that chapter in the Kanzenban just the other day, and despite the fact that checking again she clearly says "otou", I somehow read it as Goku. So yeah, I was literally looking at the original dialogue, with the word "dad" staring me in the face… and I interpreted it as something else entirely.
What the hell, me.
Oh right, the dog king of the world. What happened to the rest of the animal population again?
It's like the humans of the Dragonball world staged a rebellion against their mammal opressors and carried out a genocide during one of the timeskips.

Right now I'm rereading the whole series, and I've been keeping a keen eye out for that. There were lots of animal people at the 23rd Budokai, that's the last time I've seen them, but there haven't been barely any urban scenes since (Nappa blowing up East City, and a shot or two at the hospital after the battle), I'm going to pay close attention during the Cell and Boo arcs to see if it really is true that Toriyama just up and stopped having casual anthropomorphic people in his world lol.

i think nappa did that with his first visit. Unless I mistranslated the word crufts.
Was Earth's king apareance during Cell saga also filler?
I shouldn't buy the kanzenban of DB while I'm at spain.. I… don't have the lugage space. I should be saving for studying. I shouldn't buy manga in bulk.

Nappa blew up East City and killed Piccolo. That's all he did on earth lol.
Oh and died.
