They did say that episodes they are simulcasting will be uploaded shortly before they are to go on air, and after the Japanese broadcast. This doesn't mean specifically One Piece is coming back but it means they still have simulcasting.

It does, at least to me, sound like it has a good chance of coming back though (the simulcast).

Edit - I still think Toei will be fine with the simulcast eventually, it's just a matter of how soon Funi can convince them that a leak of this kind will happen again.

But you know, as much as I was panicky earlier, I think firecrouch had a point in an earlier post - Toei probably wants One Piece to succeed stateside. They are probably aware how most of the fans feel about this, and I think that it's PLAUSIBLE they could say "well, okay, just don't screw up again" considering that just uploading the episode shortly before it goes live ALONE will help the problem immensely.

I wouldn't worry. Toei Animation has spent too much time and effort on their biggest series since "Dragonball" to just consider limiting its release in America, especially when they've had high hopes to make it a mainstream hit.

Rin, I was hitting the panic button, too - especially yesterday - but I also think posting "OH NO OH NO THE DVDS ARE NOT SAFE THE DVDS ARE NOT SAFE" is making at least ME a little more panicky. It could be making others panicky as well - possible those who aren't posting since most of the people who've been posting have been level headed for the most part.

I'm not claiming to be the queen of cool heads here because I certainly haven't been (especially yesterday) but I think listening to firecrouch is probably a good idea here. He's got a good point - why would Toei purposely want one of their titles to fail? Yes, I would still like a more direct answer myself, but at this point I'm less panicked about it than I was.

Again, I just want to re-iterate that if you really are concerned about the situation, you shouldn't just wait around and hope for the best. Get off your butt and call Toei Animation's American sales office (it's not that hard to find), mail them a letter. I'm sure a lot of trust has been lost between FUNimation and Toei Animation, Shueisha, and Fuji T.V. If they know there are fans out there who wants this to go back online, now's the time for them to hear it.

Well they took off all the episodes so there was no point of leaving the section up. Anyway that's what pisses me off the most about this scenario; I could understand if Toei Animation doesn't want "One Piece" on FUNimation's video portal. but Hulu and Joost have no security problems so they just overreacted.

Well, to me, them keeping the section up there was a little glimmer of hope that maybe it was just temporary. The fact that they just flat out deleted it within the last few days makes me worry… Why would they delete it now if they were just going to take the section down from the beginning?
