Like every other villian too when they were KO by someone

It's true, it hasn't happend since. What if it was a burst of his spirit? I could totaly see that being it.
I really can't figure out what Zoro might be able to learn while he is away with Perona. Only thing I can come up with, is thats Brooks old kingdom, and Zoro will stumble upon some old records of swordsmanship techniques, and he learns something like that. Or he stumbles upon some record of how that kingdom was so messed up, and it triggers something in his demon filled body. I don't know.
That has not happed before or since; until Shanks.
^^ Sounds like something I have said before.
Not that my opinion matters much, but Oda has been intentionally (possibly) giving hints about "Haki" since the beginning of the manga ~~ very subtle hints and spread apart, mind ~~ for a reason. If you think about it, why wait until 500 chapters into the manga to really begin to reveal the nature behind this "Ambition" thing? Personally, I think Oda has a lot more to it than just some random warrior's skill for instant KO's. Again, personally, I think it is easy to link all of those unknown's together into one lump category: Haki. Not saying it will be or should be, but if you think about the nature of the few things we know:
- Shanks made a Sea King cower away and retreat. Seemingly low level Haki or something. Maybe.
- Zoro makes someone foam at the mouth after holding their head in his hand. Why? We don't know. Kinda weird. Just rolled over it as something that just happened.
- Zoro sees the "breath" of everything, allowing him somehow to cut what cannot be cut. Make sense? Not really, iron cutting iron? It is a manga though, so we go with it by assuming that it is some swordsman ability or something.
- Shanks walks on board Whitebeard's ship with his "Ambition" ablaze. Tons of low-level crew members knock out with foam in their mouth for no visible reason as far as we can tell, though we know it was Shanks' doing. Wait….what? Haven't we seen this before??
- Luffy stares down Motobaru telling him they don't need to fight. Motobaru begins to run away and then knocks out foaming from the mouth. Ehh!!? A trend?? Still makes no sense, right?
- Rayleigh is introduced: He does something and a ton of people knock out with foam at their mouth. Ok…seriously? What's going on??
- Hachi: "I think it's called Haki" – Readers: What's that!?!!? Haven't we seen that same effect somewhere??
- Rayleigh mentions that Roger can hear the voice of all things. Hmm, kinda sounds fishy….but haven't I heard something similar to this??
- Rayleigh stops Kizaru's kick somehow….wait, isn't that impossible? Some argue if the Logia user is unaware then you can -- but that has been proven to be more or less incorrect.
- Rayleigh cuts a Logia with his regular sword. Wait, this makes no sense!? He is doing the impossible!!
- Margaret shoots an arrow at Luffy that crushes stone. Luffy comments. Margaret responds by telling him it was imbued with "Ambition" (Haki). Wait a minute, you are telling me "Ambition" can be imbued into an item to do something it normally cannot? Like an arrow breaking a boulder? Sounds fishy….yet familiar.
Alright. So take my little notes in there as helpful curiosity to link everything together into a common thread. You can easily see how all of these "unknowns" have something in common. Breath of all things. Voice of all things. Cut what cannot be cut after seeing the breath of all things. Making people pass out with foam at their mouth. Cut what cannot be cut again. Adding extreme power to an otherwise weak projectile. Etc. It can all be summed up by one 'invented device' that Oda has literally used the entire manga up until now to hint at: "Ambition". Of course, this could all just be speculation that gets trashed for something different – but it at least has viable sense and logic, right?
Someone needs to mail in and ask Oda, what exactly happend with Zoro and Ms Monday on Whiskey Peak. I am now convinced it was his spirt/haki that did her in. Just overwhelmed by how he was man handling her.
^^ Sounds like something I have said before.
my bad didn't realise u already mentioned it
with the lack of a chapter found myself rereading chapters n saw that n i was like hmm isn't that haki
@Mr.:
Luffy = Haki
Zoro = Perona will show him how to control his demonic spirit
Sanji = increased leg strength and endurance by running
Robin = More tidbits about the world history, and muscle training(due to the hard labor)
Franky = Technological advancements for sunny and himself
Brook = More abilities for his fruit
Chopper = control of his monster form or alternate forms/improved rumble ball
Nami = Power up for the Clima Tact, or more weather weapons (I want to see her control snow, wind and to fight more like Storm)
Usopp = Improved weapons, an ability to be aware of danger around him
y'know that actually makes a lot of sense as far as Sanji is concerned, constantly running is great training for his legs, not too sure about Brook tho
@Low-fi:

Sorry, but this idea of Sanji's leg strength increasing because of all the running, or Robin's strength increasing because of the hard labor sounds far fetched…no pretty retarded actually (No Offense to those that said it). What new abilities could Brook possibly get from his fruit? It has only 1 power that is is revive him when he died.
The only possible scenarios are the ones involving Franky, Chopper, Nami & Ussop...and the part about Robin learning a bit more about History.

as far as we know, anyway.
thing is why i don't get sanji running alot increase leg power is because sanji's leg power is already monsterious that running like that would be nothing to a guy that strong
its like me bench pressing with 1g weights no matter how much i do it won't do anything since im already can do far more than 1g weights
It's still very good fitness training. Anyway, I dont think that all of those islands are "training islands". Maybe a few of them like Nami's skyisland and the island Franky went to. I hope that Oda instead will give us some fact about the OP world and maybe let us know how WGs war against Whitebeard affect the rest of the world.
On the topic of Zoro and Haki…
Zoro is able to speak with a sword in his mouth DUE TO HAKI!!
as far as we know, anyway.
What other possible abilites could his "yomi-yomi" fruit give him? Its only power was reviving when he died.
I think that he should be able to talk with the dead.

i totally agree with you!
Plus, about that, i guess there's something else that at least makes me astonished.

i don't think Brook can have something else from his fruit…
and nothing tells us that his improvement is about his fruit.
Why he can just improve his technique as swordsman? or maybe he can improve his fighting with violin...
regards,
bink

- the fight Zoro-Ryumma at Thriller Bark.
remember? after being slashed by Zoro, Ryuuma was set aflame.
Something that we've seen later, on Amazon Lily…
Rufy VS Marigol/Sandersonia... when Marigold sets herself on fire- in the same fight, Marigold repulses Rufy's attacks and Sandersonia predicts Rufy's movements (nothing in common with Mantra?)

i thought that was with salt but if that was with haki then Zoro cancled out Moria fruit powers with haki
i thought that was with salt
and what could link salt to fire?
but if that was with haki then Zoro cancled out Moria fruit powers with haki
ehm… sorry, i don't understand what you mean...
and what could link salt to fire?
i thought he used salt on the blade when he cut him thus purifying him i assumed it was all the purification
ehm… sorry, i don't understand what you mean...
Ok simple silver used haki to stop logia attacks
Zoro used haki to stop moria's attack
thats to say haki is the key
When did Zoro stop any of Morias attacks?
When did Zoro stop any of Morias attacks?
Moria power is to control shadows
if Zoro didn't use salt to purify ryuma and infact used haki
then Zoro may have used haki to cancel the control of moria on ryumma thus stopping his fruit powers
im not talking bout attacks
Umm. A few things:
@bink: Marigold set herself on fire with a match.
@Neomaster: I wasn't calling you out, just noting that it sounded similar to what I had said a few months ago. I don't think anyone has any reason to believe that Haki can cancel out Devil's Fruit powers. Rather, some believe that it might allow you to bypass the defense a Devil's Fruit gives. IE: Bypass Luffy's rubber body or a Logia's body. Perhaps Haki would allow hurting Moria via punching the Shadow Doppleganger…?

a match
well if thats the case im back to the salt on the blade theory lol
edit
also i think that probably would be a fair idea of wat would happen with moria
But hey, the zoombies had two weaknesses right. Salt, that cancelled Morias devilpower and killed the zoombies, and fire that would destroy their bodies and therefor defeat them. Zoro burned Ruyma, and defeated him. Why whould he need salt on the blade?

what do u think Zoro used to purify him /burn him
he was using 1 sword style and i saw no fire /matches
so its has to be salt

Salt cant set people, or even zoombies, on fire. I think it's some kind of sword technique, or haki thing. But with that I dont mean that Zoro can nullify Morias devilpower with Haki, but fire, created by haki, can.

then i have to say i disagree with urs:ninja:
i've missed something…
yea i reread that chapter n i was like sht there was matches lol

I don’t know why you think he purified him with salt on his blade. For me Zorro used a fire technique to beat Ryuuma.
I allways assumed that Zoro managed to create enough friction with some kind of technique to set the dry zombie flesh on fire… why would it be salt?

um cause thats the only way to put a zombie out
Zoro did not use a fire sword technique as much as u guys want to make out

I’m afraid I couldn’t go along with that because this would make Zorro to a cheap cheater. We don’t see any salt in this fight and it is only a theory from you which I disagree.

You have two objectives:
If you can do both without pulling something from your ass we will concede to your superior intellect and write it into the wiki.

Time for someone to re-read that chapter:getlost:

Didn't they mention fire was another way? (not sure they mentioned why/how but I allways imagined it was in the sense that it would completly destroy the body and thus freeing the shadow…)
The Zombies did express a fear of fire
Didn't they mention fire was another way? The Zombies did express a fear of fire
Here is what you were recalling:
[hide]@Stephen's:
Usopp: Zombies' weakness is…!!! "Killer Move Kaenboshi"!!! (Flame Star) Zombies: Whoaaa!!! Fire!!! Fire: (bwoof!!!) Zombies: Get out the rottin' way, mate!!! **- Page 103 -
Usopp:** That was unimaginably effective!!! Zombies: Wotch it, ya soddin' wanker!!Wot if ya set me aflame, eh! Arsonist!! Ya filthy bahhstard!! Chopper: But now you got the zombies really pissed off!!! Hurry, Nami!!!
@Stephen's:
Usopp: Take this, you stupid rug bear!!!
Candle: (bwooof)
Bear: Bear?!
- Page 141 -
Bear: Oh crap, it's a candle!!! Yeowyeow!! It's rottin' hot!!!
Portrait: Fire!!! Eeeeep!!! Put it out!!!
Usopp: Now I know your weakness!! Take this and this and this!!
Portrait: It's gonna start a fire!!
Usopp: Take THAT, all of you!!
Portraits: Gyaaaaaa!!! Put the fire out!!!

What ever Zoro did, it clearly caused him to catch fire. Shouldn't be to hard to believe, I mean it seems now only Brook, Robin and Luffy are the only ones left who can't make fire one way or another.

Can Chopper?
Why this purification conversation has gone on this long is beyond me. Surely this is getting a little offtopic now…

Supposedly against the PX-4. His Roseo Metel looked pretty fiery.
Anyone mention maybe bonclay came from sanji's exiled island? maybe all those okama are strong.
That would be pretty funny, and since Bonclay is in Impeldown right now, just as Luffy (even thought no one knows that… yet) Sanji might be able to interfere, with an Okama army!(or maybe not)
apart from this disbuted fire zoro used no its not worked in purifying anything it just burns like a normal human
@zkaiser they were all given bags of salt
did you guys forget that?
y give zoro salt if hes just gonna use a fire technique?
I meant show us where he used it.
Also, again, where did the fire come from.
Protip: Salt cannot be used to make fire.

Protip: Salt cannot be used to make fire.
Further Neomaster must show us where stand that salt on the body have the same effect like salt in the mouth. The Zombie must swallow the salt to lose the shadow.
Why the hell are you all still talking about Zoro, fire and Zombies. This is seriously OFF-TOPIC!
I meant show us where he used it.

not in real life
but in purifying a zombie via a wound u don't know
Further Neomaster must show us where stand that salt on the body have the same effect like salt in the mouth. The Zombie must swallow the salt to lose the shadow.
We've seen the effects of salt in the mouth but we never saw the effect of salt in a wound
ussop used real fire on oddz and it did nothing
im just saying logicall zoro realised he would take the killer blow so had his sword laced in salt
this is more logical; than zoro using a fire attack (he can't produce fire that way)
Wait, you are saying that the salt can create fire, since it's a manga, not the real world. But you are also saying that Zoro cant produce fire using a fire attack, wich also is impossible in the real word, but not in a manga. Why is it more logical that salt can produce fire then that Zoro can produce fire with his swords only. Infact we never see Zoro spread salt on his sword, wich, if that's what he did, would be pretty strange by Oda to now show us. Why wouldnt Oda let us see such an important detail? The only logical explanation to me is that Zoro used some sort of sword technique to create the fire.
[hide]http://indian-cultures.com/scans/Yanomamo%20making%20fire.jpg[/hide]
oh thank u
i forgot Zoro's swords were really sticks
and in fact 1 stick alone can make fire (he was using a 1 sword style technique)
black eye
the last time Zoro did a fire technique his swords were on fire
i don't think Oda was going to start making Zoro create fire from no were
Zoro was given salt to purify and he used it fire does nothing to zombies look at how odz dealt with fire it didn't kill him
Edit: Not sure why this discussion has gone on so long. Two very important pieces of information here. The attack he uses on Ryuuma is: Ittouryuu "Hiryuu Kaen" - Flying Dragon Blaze - 飛竜火焔 (ひりゅうかえん) [[URL="http://www.arlongpark.net/Characters/Zoro#31"]Link]. Emphasis on "Blaze". That alone lets us know he is using a flame-based attack. The next very important piece of information is the fact that it is a projectile and fictional attack; are you suggesting that he launches the salt from his sword in the form of a fiery dragon? Not to mention Oda would have filled us in on that little detail. Image for reference: [[URL="http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/467/13/"]Link]
This is more logical than Zoro using a fire-based attack with his sword (he can't produce fire that way).
[hide][/hide]@Neomaster121:
Zoro was given salt to purify and he used it fire does nothing to zombies; look at how Oz dealt with fire and it didn't kill him.
Yeah but Ryuuma was standing up (unaffected) when he gave over the sword (on fire) to Zoro. He was admitting defeat and that Zoro was the better swordsman. An honorable thing to do rather than exploiting his invincible Zombie body. That is why Zoro won. Otherwise Zoro would have had to purify him.
Brennen, Geez… that picture of yours was obviously photoshoped and false, dont try to trick people like that. Here's the real one.
! Looks like Neomaster was right after all.
LMAO!! Wow. I wasn't expecting that. I seriously started busting up in the middle of the office. Oh…thanks for that.
