and why do you think that Sanji is the only one that are going to not get a power up?,i think that at this point is stupid to think that,we have to wait and see what happens,i think all strawhats are going to get a power up

@Sesshy: NEVAR~~!!!!! Oh, and I really hope we see Urouge and Drake! >_<
Pfft. You know it'd be a great twist if it wasn't for the fact that Luffy is awesome and Hancock isn't as awesome.
Edit- I think I finally figured out why I find the New World situation just so <3. The World Government is going against unknown enemies in unknown numbers with unknown movements. They have no clue which crews are on the move. People bring up WB pride, which he does seem to have a lot of, but at the same time, he said he treats any fool on his ship as a son. So would it be to much of a stretch that he actually asked for help from other crews to go against a common enemy for the sake of one of his sons?
-
As someone pointed out in the spoiler thread, he is getting lots of exercise for his legs by running around. His letter to Robin and Nami has to be one of the best parts about the chapter. LOL. Poor, poor Sanji.
That, and Okama Kempo :D
-
I don't think it's that simple. Probably Sengoku knew that the longer they decided to act, the greater was the chance of WB just assaulting Impel Down to rescue Ace. Also, remember that, when Momonga came to get Hancock in Amazon Lily, Momonga said that Hancock had replied the government earlier saying that she would go, yet she was lying and had no interest in keeping her word.
Also, Sengoku had his forces and 5 Shichibukai ready. You can bet that he was not counting on cases like Hancock and Jimbei disobeying orders.
First off, I'm surprised Sengoku miscalculated so badly with the Shichibukai. Granted, its the WG that controls the Shichi, but even then I'm sure it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know they can't be depended on, and that they don't have a good history of being loyal / upright. Thus, Plan A shouldn't even need to draw on the Shichi.
Second, if half of my plan had to depend on the risky Shichi, I would have handled the Ace thing better. Say, not publicize Ace's capture, or seek WB out for secret negotiations. Everyone who read about Ace's impending execution knew that a huge-ass battle was on the horizon, thus opening the door to all opportunistic pirates out there.
My Suspicion? That it was the WG, and not the Marines, who wanted the public execution. I think it's Oda's way of showing how the WG is overconfident, yet slightly out of touch with the way things are.
Perhaps, on some level it's foreshadowing of how the 'Creators of the World Government' have started to rot from the inside, or something. Just look at the Tenryubito! Or maybe I've watched too much Star Wars haha.
-
Bon Clay definately came from the island that Sanji is on, perhaps this will asist him in some way while he is there.
-
If Kuma knows/has been at the places he sent Strawhats, what the hell is his relationship with Kamabakka kingdom?! o_o
-
wait, im not clear on jimbei's situation. he's headed to Impel Down right? or is he IN Impel Down? captured?
-

Sounds like he is in Impel Down and is being detained till he decides to help the marines.
Also I think the chance of Hancock joining just hit 90% now. Nyon basically said to Hancock "Go with Luffy or you die" and when she left, she already handed off command of the island and pirate crew to her sisters while she was gone.
I bet the final scene before she joins the crew will be Luffy saying her name right lol.
-
but they said he's rampaging. wat
-

They said he was rioting, and that he is now being detained in Impel Down till he "Cools off". His rampaging has already happened.

I'm pretty sure Luffy knew the name of the other crew members by this point. So you have to drop it down to like 60% at least. She also said go or die, she said accept it or die.
-
So, before that on Thriller Bark, they only know Ace's life is in danger, but to what extend? Luffy assumes Ace is going to weather through it, because Ace is stronger than him. However, you need to remember, Luffy knows how strong the Marines are, especially the Admirals..etc….. When he found out from Nyon that Ace got caught by the World Government, he knows Ace is not only in trouble, he is actually in DEEP SHIT.
Exactly. From the point he knows Ace's life is in danger, he was the same just some time before that, and he prevailed. So, why couldn't his brother, who he thinks is stronger than himself, wouldn't?
When the situation became clear to Luffy, he saw that he would have to intervene. That Ace did not win, after all.
-
I bet the final scene before she joins the crew will be Luffy saying her name right lol.
Strangely enough, right now I wouldn't mind if she joined. I hate to say it. I don't think she will, but if she did I wouldn't be disappointed. Well. No. I will be. Just not that much. It would be like Franky. I didn't want Franky to join at all, I wanted Paulie. Now I am glad it wasn't Paulie and I love Franky. If Hancock joined with that snake, I could imagine seeing some really awesome fight scenes. Better than Margret's snake would have given. I would still have issues with her Haki being the same as Luffy's and her DF being somewhat broken. Not to say I couldn't imagine her having great fights due to her Haki and snake, but the DF and the type of Haki itself would really lessen the special aspect Luffy has. That would still really disappoint things. It would be like having two people in one team with Sharingan. LOL, I just used Naruto to make an analogy for One Piece.
-
Well apparentley the island he is on is legendary for something, sure it could just be that it is an island full of trannies or that there is someone strong who resides on the island. And it is called the island of dreams.
Ain't it obvious? He's there to "cure" his "love" for women.
Remember Enies Lobby? He was defeated by Kalifa, there: maybe he can learn something in this island that will enable him to tackle such opponents in the future and win while NOT hitting, or something.
Better yet: maybe he's there to learn how to properly "charm" the ladies, instead of what he does around Nami or Robin, for example.
-
Sorry guys but i can't understand why some of you say "sengoku did a miscalculation with the shishi" i mean 6 of them will be present. What do you want more? For a group of pirates which are really selfish (remember the meeting at marijoa where they should have discussed about crocodiles replacement). That's terrific the marines to have 6 shishis of 7 present. Now the marines can only hope that the 6 will fight WBs crew.
-
I'm pretty sure Luffy knew the name of the other crew members by this point. So you have to drop it down to like 60% at least. She also said go or die, she said accept it or die.
The reason its 90% for me is because I can already see how this could work out with this bit of foreshadowing. Its a shonen based cliche (hell love story cliche in general) that the oblivious idiot can't say the name of the person in love with them. And than when she needs to be heard most, Luffy would say her name correctly, usually in a desparate situation (Thus why I said she wouldn't join till that moment he gets her name right).
Also the "go with him or die" was just me paraphrasing. I said earlier in the spoiler section that if Nyon basically said "Follow where your heart wants to go" that it was almost certain she would leave with him. And I said if she said that I would change my predictiom to 95% belief she would join. She more or less said that, now im just waiting to see if my prediction is right by the end of this long arc. There is a lot of time for Luffy to get to know her considering he seems to spending lots of time alone with her now, and she is obviously comfortable enough to have him around her waist lol.
-
I'm still saying 60% max!

I'm sure Luffy convincing the 6th to show up is part of his calculations. Along with another helping out rookies that are defeating other shichibukai within a year of each other. (Probably 3-4 months)
-
While Jimbei and Luffy contact = hurray, I'm a little more hyped about another close encounter with Blackbeard.
go, Teach, go

If she is the position I think she woud be. She would need to be really powerful, perhaps powerful enough to surpass Zoro himself. Pirate Queen! (Hey it worked for Alvida and Buggy!) So the thought that she is this extremely powerful shichibukai actually helps her chances in my eyes because Luffy needs some really powerful allies to be pirate king, especially after all that we have seen of admirals and the Whitebeard Pirates.
-
Boa Hancock still has that treaty though. Going agianst it endangers her people. Going with Luffy would make things pretty bad. That's not saying I would not mind if something bad happens(Kuja gets imprisoned by the nobles into slaver and the entire tribe is engraved with the mark. That would be a nice plot device, especially seeing that I like the amazons)
-
Sadly I think Hancock might die during or after this war. She said she had a bad feeling about going there, which could be foreshadowing. I hope not though cuz she hot and she loves Luffy.
-
Lets all stop the speculating and check out my awesome new avatar.

I was trying to think of how to simultaneously take out 23 marine headquarter ships, and people are going to hate me just for saying this, but Dragon's ability comes to mind. The scout ships had to of known WB and his crews capabilities, outside interference might not be that unlikely.
-
Wow, what an early chapter this week. That has to be the first time i'm coming home at wednesday evening and there is allready a trans up on onemanga. o0
And it seems to be full of awesomeness too, thanks to battle franky and you guys i'm feelin' suuuperr now. :] -

those're spoilers
keep that under tabs, plzkthx

does anybody think that many in the shichibukai will abandon the world government when the time comes to fight? seriously there isn't much of a reason for them to fight. the reason why many of them accepted the position was because they didn't want to be bothered by the marines and wanted to pirate freely. if whitebeard destroys the marines then who will chase them?
right there is one of the reasons why i think somebody like don flamingo will turn on the marines when the time comes. i don't know what mihawk intentions are so i don't know why he became a shichibukai. like i said before the only reason why he might of come was because he was bored and wanted to fight. moria will probably abandon the marines as soon as things get too tough for him. i don't know what kuma's intentions are either so he may end up fighting till the end alongside the marines or he will turn on them also because he's working for somebody else. boa is fighting alongside luffy so she's already turned on the marines. jimbei doesn't want to fight either so he's out of the fight. blackbeard probably doesn't care either way and is only there to kill whitebeard to take his position as an emperor. he might stay out of the fight and let whitebeard battle the marine forces and tire himself out and then attack whitebeard and possibly kill him.
-

Outside interference like….......@Ulrilra:
Marine: We also received reports that other pirate crews in "The New World" were on the move as well.
-
I don't even get that as a joke? How is something from volume 12 spoilers?
Edit- brennen, yeah, I was just saying that as a possibility/example, I don't even expect it to be true, but with Oda I usually post things that can somewhat make sense because there's just no telling on what will actually happen.

Allow me to reiterate.
No one knows what Dragon's "ablilities" are.
-
@dirt:
Allow me to reiterate.
No one knows what Dragon's "ablilities" are.
A huge blast of wind blowing marines away obviously caused by Dragon. It doesn't take knowing his exact powers to know that he'd probably be capable of a fleet destruction.
-
@dirt:
Allow me to reiterate.
I think you mean rephrase. Anyways, doesn't a majority of confusion on Dragon's part come from the scanlations from chapter 100? Where I believe the marines yell out that there is a storm, people thought that Dragon was yelling an attack name or something? Of course those could have been his abilities, but yeah no canon. Just mystery. In fact, Nami had been mentioning a storm far before Dragon appeared, so while Dragon could have some Logia or Paramecia revolving around storms or something, it could also just be happenstance.
-
For all you know Whitebeard FARTED and the effects were felt halfway across the world.
reiterate MEANS to repeat that which is said
-

what if somebody on whitebeard's crew has the wind logia? we don't know if whitebeard, marco or anybody else has a logia or some extremely powerful devil fruit. i don't think whitebeard needs dragons help to destroy 23 marine ships since he is the most powerful man in the world.

I never really had any doubt that it was Dragon because it was a convenient LARGE gust as soon as he stops Smoker. Plus he did say 'Wind blow' or something as it happened. I can take the lightning bolt as a coincidence that wind gust would be two miracles in about 15 minutes though.
Edit- @smurfx That's why I said, that I think they would of been informed on the crew's abilities if they were going to scout their movement. Who knows, maybe it really was just a big blunder on the marines part, but outside interference also has a chance though.
-
Besides the fact, that I really love this chapter, I also fear it a little bit. It just seems like the WB-Fight is getting closer, it's all Shichibukai and admirals fighting… Don't missunderstand me, I still love it, but what shall come after that? So far, I can't think of something THAT EPIC happening afterwards... And in my eyes, you usually put the top of something at its end
But afterall, it's Oda, he'll kick all our (golden? ) balls for thinking we could already predict his movements...
-

Your assuming everything is going to be the status quo afterall this is over :P I realize there is some problems to be resolved, but that to me actually helps her chances as all the strawhats had to go through some trial and tribulations before they could finally accept being on the ship. She has the will, now she needs the way.
To me I think we are going to see the shichibukai disband by the time this arc is over. Hancock clearly wouldn't have gone to uphold her treaty with the government if it wasn't for Luffy (Thus even if not now, eventually she would have been stripped lol) and they will likely figure out she smuggled him to Impel Down and the WG will see that as treason and strip her title anyways. Jimbei is running out of control and is almost begging to get his title stripped, DoFlamingo keeps talking about a new era approaching and I doubt he is going to stay as a shichibukai going through it, we all know blackbeard wants to be the Pirate King and I doubt he will do that as a personal corsair to the Marines. Kuma clearly has another agenda in mind than what the World Government wants. Really the only odd balls of the group is Moria and Mihawk; however, Mihawk seems like the type of person who could care less what happens next as it is anyways and both Luffy and the readers could care less what happens to Moria :P.
Than with all the stress going on in the World Government, they will probably be militarily crippled after the upcoming battle. Even if they take out Whitebeard potentially I think they will lose enough power where Amazon Lily would be safe in the meantime as they would have far more pressing matters. Plus if Hancock left the island never to return, they wouldn't have a reason to go after the island, the main threat would be gone from it.
-
The last pic with sanji is pretty frightening lol. :o
And franky is just (an) awesome (weirdo). -
i wonder what "Hell" is referring for in this chapter
Sanji
Whitebeard
or Ace ??lol
Somehow the members seemed to be sent flying to islands on which they COULD improve themself …
Luffy: Haki,
Nami: Weather (new techniques ?),
Franky: industrial (better machines ?),
Sanji: transvestites (well if this is usefull)Robin: maybe onto something with a big library (ok, some martial arts would be cool)
Chopper: clearly something with doctors
Ussop: Sniper Island ?
Zorro: would have something with swords or similar .. I guessLooks like Kuma sent them on purpose to those islands; He might not be THAT bad at all
I wonder if they will meet up in Impel Down ... and what is Garp up to right now ? Will he reveal that Ace is NOT his grandchild ?
-
Plus he did say 'Wind blow' or something as it happened.
That's exactly what I am talking about though. I am pretty sure that was a misconception as to who was yelling out "storm" or "wind" or "squall". Also, isn't "blow" attributed to Smoker's attack names…? Anyways, this can all still have simply been explained by the huge storm Nami predicted that took place the entire time. Now, if Dragon has an ability at all, I doubt he can control all that was happening – I think manipulating what was in place is more likely. Anyways, not to say he couldn't take out a fleet, I just think that deciding now that he has a power would be too soon.
-
Does anyone know what the conversation between Nyon and Hancock is about? It seems to be important concerning the "fatal disease?"
Also does Hancock ever say to her kingdom that she will be returning to her island?
Thanks -

I'm not sure on the scanlations, but I do buy the American volumes just to support the series and the pictures are a whole lot better even if the translations do suck. But they have 'Wind blast' on that page. All I'm saying is that, there was only one gust that size during the entire storm and it threw marines about 20 feet into the air. Like I said, I always thought it was obvious it was Dragon, I guess we'll find out later. I shouldn't of said Dragon, I should of just left it at outside interference ;p

-
Are you suggesting that Ussop is in his heart?
well, I was just thinking logical right now … as the other islands sounded quite useful for the shown crew members
-
@dirt:
Allow me to reiterate.
No one knows what Dragon's "ablilities" are.
My hint goes for a Kaze Kaze no Mi ability (Wind Wind Fruit). o/
-
Hancock: Why did I listen to Luffy so easily without hesitating and refusing!? To go to the headquaters… but I don't feel bad at all...!!
Nyon: This is LOVE!! When you don't get to see him and keep thinking of him, you'll become weak and even die!
Nyon: The previous empresses supressed their feelings and destroyed themselves in the process. If you go with him, you will be saved.
The rest is Hancock thinking what would happen if she goes to the headquaters and what may happen to the country withOUT her around.
Hancock may be joining the crew!!
-
fart fart fruit, plz strike down the infidels
-
Are you suggesting that Ussop is in his heart?
Wouldn't he be in Luffy and Chopper's heart? Or in the hearts of little children?
-
"Please call me Hancock" That made me shake a bit…. I hope she isn't a transvestite.
gets shot
-
Allow me to quote Peter from family guy. Wednesday early chapter: "freaking sweet!"
This chapter had everything but the kitchen sink! I don't even know where to start. Everything that was wrong with the last chapter was made up for with this chapter IMHO.
522 - no other SH, 523 - other SH: checked!
522 - lovesickness!! what?? wait… what? I'm still confused by this, but anyways, 523 - Hancock kicking little cute animals: checked!
522 - no haki development, 523 - still no haki development, but we learn that Hancock is indeed strong. is it related to her haki usuage... maybe? maybe not... but i'm hoping it is.Disappointed we're spending the time to address whether or not Spandam is dead. But whatever.
While the continuous gag with Sanji is quite hilarious, I really hope he'll be able to learn something there to help him out. Perhaps one posters comment about him having to use his legs to run away is a form of indirect training is quite a possibility now :)I'm really really hoping we get more SH adventures. I'm totally ok with one chapter or even two chapters per SH. To me some SHs don't need two chapters. Sorry, but some SH are just more important than others to me. Or if we get little cameos every chapter or every other chapter, that would be awesome too.
So, we've taken the clock back a bit to when every SH landed on their respective islands. I think this is a big hint at SH adventures. Also, if oda gives enough information, this will be awesome for the anime I think. they can add some "hopefully good" filler material to fill in the gaps. that should buy us at least eight (8) extra episodes :)
the other thing I found noteworthy is what the marine reporting to Sengoku said... other pirates in the New World are moving too... I didn't expect this. I was sure WB would be the only one... so will Shanks really be involved, this will make things quite interesting, and make the war way bigger than I even imagined it would be.
wow oda, you give us so much room for speculation with so little information. genius.
