Well that was unexpected.
Interesting isn't it? The more people we make famous, the more of these we have. Seems like it will be a daily occurence before long.
What's odd is yesterday, I actually bought a record of one of his performances. I should go see if I can get double for it today (considering I paid 98 cents, not too hard )
he's dead. we should treat him like he would have treated other people. with cynical contempt in a humorous way.
Nothing funny about dying, but carlin was a pioneer.
Damn, I know I've seen him in things but I can't really remember… Tho from what I do he seemed awesome, may he rest in peace.
Damn, I was hit hard by this one…
Rest in peace, man.

And I thought Heath Ledger's death was depressing. This . . . . . is a freaking travesty.
Thread's already been made:

But yeah, this sucks tremendously. One of the greatest comedians the world has ever known
D'oh!
Note to self: Even in time of grief, check for threads.
George Carlin is a legend alright and will be missed greatly by all as well.
Indeed, he is a legend. Here is one his very funny sketch. The Seven Dirty words (Warning for bad word). RIP Geogre, you always will make laugh.

For a second when I first saw this my brain broke and I was thinking "George Burns? Didn't he die already?"
Carlin was good. My friend pretty much idolized him, but for me, he was hit or miss. Mostly hit. He'll be missed.
This is the most horrible thing to happen this year. I loved George Carlin. Such a funny guy. He'll be missed by everyone. RIP George!! :cwy:
a Really funny guy. did comedy justice.. R.I.P.
kinda wish it was someone else, like Carlos Mencia…
I heard about that on the news this morning while they talked on KS107.5's "Celebrity Trash and Bash".
Ah, how sad. Rest in Piece.
what? When did this happen….
I really enjoyed his work. Gave one of his books to a friend of mine after he had stomach surgery. I laughed at his pain, George Carlin style.
poor guy, I loved his work. First Richard Jeni… Now him... Why do favorite comedians keep dying?
But yes... He's bound to be making someone laugh somewhere.
Y'know, if there is a heaven, I'm betting he and God are having a great time heckling each other right now. Alongside Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor.
shame this, pyay shame.
let us all hoist an air guitar solo in respect.

First one of his skits I saw, and he made me laugh quite a bit. Thanks.
i didnt even know he died till they talked about it on the colbert report was pretty upset. all i could remember was a couple of years ago my mom had me look up his 7 words skit (weird i know) and was upset cause i remembered how funny he was (still can't say those words oddly enough, thought that tv shouldve had one day where people could say those wrds but thats me.)
