Viz-Hater is ONLY second to one man. I forget his username. I thought it started with an E but I checked the list and apparently not. It was like discussing things with a blind rabid dog. He was a huge SB fan if that jogs anyone's memory. He was a stupid sonuvabitch.

I don't think he needs ideas, but heart. It's painfully clear Kishimoto isn't drawing Naruto for his own artistic expression anymore, and hasn't been like that since before Part II.
Oda and Miura are among the few manga-ka I see who still take pride in their work, rather than lower their standards for the sake of being easier on themselves. I think Togashi is like that too, though one wouldn't know at face value how dedicated he is.

Mishandled indeed. It's not like they specifically handled him wrong, it's just they didn't DO anything interesting with him. He was just hanging in the background anytime Orochimaru shows up, not doing anything. And then as a plot device to get the cast to fight with Orochimaru in the second half.
I really liked Kabuto in the first half, especially during the chunin exam. He had an unpredictabe nature to him (even Orochimaru wasn't too sure what was up with him), which could have been taken in a really cool direction.
But then he degrades into being his master's butt boy, and all that absurdity of making himself into Orochimaru. And any remaining interest in his "secret" we had gets thrown out in favor of him showing off how much of a fanboy he is for Orochimaru.
Ambiguity is fine if it's done correctly. The problem was that it was either:
-yeah he's loyal to Orochimaru
-no he's hiding something more
And it never went beyond that. There was never any development after those initial premises; only half-assed attempts at making this big-glasses wearing guy into some kind of "X-factor" within the story. Not to mention his already boring character so it's making something already bad even worse.

I think the 'war' was when the Manga section got really unruly during Enies Lobby, circa mid 2006. I remember that was when I was at my worst and a lot of other people were quite violent, too.
Despite Phenomenol being notorious for some reason I never interacted with him much so feel I missed something whenever people reference him.

I think kishimoto is really getting bored… I'd have loved 2 see what exactly happened when naruto was training with jiraiya. let's hope kishimoto doesn't make another of those "2 years in the future" jumps, otherwise he could just end the story here and now. the time-jump ruined the story anyway...
I think kabuto could have been a really interesting person, if he hadn't been oroshimaru's puppet all this time. kabuto also wanted some of orishimaru's power, that's why he took oroshimaru's arm and exchanged it with his. his character has got a nice new twist from that. the bad guys in naruto are much more interesting than the good guys.
it's just sad that jiraiya and kakashi had to die, they were some of the only really funny guys, why couldn't tenten have died?! what's tenten's surname anyway? I don't understand why she's allowed to live when all the really cool people are dying...

or perhaps doing another time skip to put a momentary end to what is going on... then taking a second to think and in a way, start over again... kind of like hitting reset.
from this he would be able to make drastic alterations without buildup (flashbacks are easier and quicker for informing than doing the events sequentially) and still keep the continuity of the story he'd already wrote.
of course both of these methods is kind of an easy way out.
The harder course of action would be to actually turn around the story with awesome writing and presentation.

I'm actually keeping faith that the ending to Naruto will still be fairly decent, since Kishimoto did state he had the last chapter pictured in his mind when he started the manga and has recently stated he is still sticking with it. With all the cool ideas he had portrayed in the beginning of the story, I'm willing to bet the ending will be pretty good.

Sucks that Princess Tsunade has already invested considerable amounts of energy into repairing the damage done by pen. I'm starting to see a pattern there thinking back to the Oro fight. Why does she always have to handicap herself? Can't handle the pressure and looking for an excuse^^? She should have battled the pens at full power right from the start. It might have even limited their casualties, provided she's confident to handle akatsuki that is. It sure would have been a sight to behold in any case. Especially compared to the horde of slugs we got roaming the village instead. Let's hope healing everyone didn't weaken her at all and she's good to go. Nailing down a few boss summons with giant daggers would be very much appreciated.

It's funny how finally Kishimoto brought back all these characters after who knows how long to fight. So much so that people barely give a shit about them anymore. Talk about underused characters. At least in Kubo's case, it's mostly due to his mega-slow pacing.

Not sure…I just saw the preview and it showed all of Team 8 there...but somehow it does seem a bit weird since it shows Orochimaru and Kabuto rather prominent and little Sasuke after the "kills a bunch of fodder" scene which begins the arc. Could those two be getting one last arc before Sasuke removes Orochimaru from the equation? (not counting the Itachi fight)

Sadly, I completely expected Naruto to use kage bunshin to master sage mode. I was dissapointed and surprised that the Frog had to use that same stupid line though about looking left and right at the same time for Naturo to try it though.
Hopefully he is just going to use those clones to speed up the training instead of using one clone to gather energy while the other fights or something. I just want Naruto to be good without needed 4 other Narutos to help him.

Goodbye Tsunade. Hopefully her death isn't as shit as Kakashi's death was. Considering all the pain are fighting people already. Looks like Guy's team will be the fighting Konomaru's Pain. If they split up though expect more exciting life saving ninjas out of nowhere cliffhangers that kishi loves so much.
Just saw the preview for the next Shippudden arc and we're back to filler city. FU SP. Well at least we'll get some canon involving Sasuke and the formation of team Hebi along with the 3tailed beast filler arc. If we get another after the Sasuke/Itaci battle SP can eat shit since we shouldn't have fillers after every part 2 arc after they gave us 2 years of straight filler shit at the end of part 1.
You know if they didn't use that "right/left" crap again, maybe it wouldn't have been so obvious he's going to use Kage Bushin to cheat…again. He's really great at using them but it's like he can't learn anything without them.
Other than that, I actually like we're finally starting to see other clans get into it and Team Gai finally starting to head back...but come on, the live/die cliffhangers really stink. (it's bad enough that Kakashi is obviously coming back, the fact that Chouza isn't dead either takes points away again from Pain) Oh, and Aburame vs. Konan...at least that was one cool moment.

Kakashi seems very much dead. There been fake death in Naruto before but Kakashi's was handed differently. He not only had a segment where he basically foreshadowed he was going to die when he used kamui to save fat assand then sacrificed his life for the new generation. He also had a flashback saying goodbye to Obito and Rin and then Kishi even threw out a part when Kakashi actual took his last breath Kakashi met his dad in the afterlife all in the same battle. Then there was the last page with Kakashi with Asura realms face falling off right after symbolzing both thier deaths.
This chapter even has more evidence with Tsunade hittimg the wall she read Kakashi's body. Chouiji even asked what about Kakashi and gave a … response. So he should be dead bringing him back after all that would be epic shit writing.
Storywise, Kakashi needs to die. He's the next in line to take over as Hokage after Tsunade after she's killed off here. With those two dead it's time for Danzou to take over as Hokage. Tsunade not dying here would be shit as well. It's been established that Hokages sacrifice themselves to protect Konaha so it would a disservice and hurt Tsunade's reign if she doesn't sacrifice herself to stop Pain.
