! Even though I already knew that Kakyoin was going to continue is Egyptian jobbing streak.
I'm really looking forward to how the anime handles the conclusion to the competition, because that was the scene that finally made me decide that I had to start following this manga for real. Joesph is such a terrible backseat gamer, ha.

They gave Vanilla Ice brown hair, how disappointing. (Still hot though… >_>; )
GOD this episode was so good I cried! Next week's is going to be even worse.
! Especially if they get to the end of the fight, where after Polnareff defeats Vanilla Ice, Avdol and Iggy's souls descend into heaven. I cried so much when I read that part….
Also, now that the colored scans of Narancia's Aerosmith are up, I shall go read them. Actually digging part 5 so far, it started it out kinda meh for me though.
-
Starring Aizen/Asano as Vanilla Ice
Also
! AVDOL NOOOOOOOOOO NOT AGAIN… BUT PERMANENTLY...!!
-
YES!
! Mohamedd Avdoooool!!!!
-
Good Episode
!
2 weeks until Dio!
! I reckon next week will either finish with fake dio or with Ice circling iggy and polnareff. Then the week after will end with Dio on the stairs and we get his first uncovered look.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Apparently season 1 of Jojo is coming out in the US on dvd as subbed only. I wonder if they will continue to dub season 2 then or just keep it subs for consistency.

Ora ora ora ora ora ora oraaaaa ! I am reading the serie for the first time.
Today I started Stardust Crusader. I have a little question, how did Dio ended up in this coffin ?
Isn't it the coffin used by Erina to escape the ship ?
:wassat: -

:wassat:Always bring a back up coffin. Just smart thinking :P

:wassat:Because the author is lazy but we love him anyway :P
-
Erina obviously brought an indestructable coffin in case of emergency
-
When in doubt, it's Because Araki.
-
Dio had prepared a coffin for Erina, in case Jhonatan accepted his gift of inmortality and had to escape the boat. Dio and him would share one, and He'd turn Erina and she'd get her own.
-
Dio is just a coffin enthusiast

Dio is just a coffin enthusiast
Like all the vampires we learnt to love.
-
It's a lifecoffin. It's like a lifeboat, but for dead people.
-
Every standardized ship has a few extra coffins to spare
-
I'm glad that they hired a seiyuu who has previously voiced the same character (Show Hayami, who voiced Vanilla Ice in Capcom's game). I had gotten the impression that DP were really anal about not doing that.
-
Sho Hayami also voices Pucci in ASB, soooo looks like he really enjoys being Dio's favorite lackey lol
-
Terrence also kept his seiyuu from All-Star Battle.

A lot of people seem to wish part 3 was shorter. Here’s what it would look like with only the plot-relevant stuff kept in, with a brief explanation of why it’s relevant:
Intro (= everything up to Polnareff joining the crew, sans Tower of Gray)
Dark Blue Moon (The runaway girl is introduced)
The Emperor and Hanged Man (self-explanatory)
The Empress (focuses on Nena from the previous battle. Also Joseph is actually useful)
Justice (continues from Emperor and Hanged Man, also the runaway girl leaves)
The Lovers (Enya is killed)
Judgement (Avdol returns)
Geb’s N’Doul (Iggy is introduced, Kakyoin is hospitalized)
Oingo and Boingo (necessary as “background” to Hol Horse and Boingo)
D’Arby the Gambler (necessary as background to D’Arby the Gamer. Also it's the second or third most popular battle in part 3)
Hol Horse and Boingo (wraps up Hol Horse’s story)
Pet Shop (Iggy gets serious, they find DIO’s mansion, Kakyoin returns)
D’Arby the Gamer (Without it the Vanilla Ice battle would have to be altered like in the OVA)
Vanilla Ice (self-explanatory)
DIO’s World (duh!)You would still have to slightly alter some details (like descriptions of how they travel, or Hol Horse reporting to DIO that “Mariah and Alessi have fallen”). I would personally squeeze in Ebony Devil, Yellow Temperance, Death 13, Anubis, Mariah and Alessi as well just because they’re all good battles (and Death 13 is amazing). I think part 3 is good the way it is though.

I think part 3 is fine with it's length. If people are complaining now, the later parts will kill them. Also regarding your list i would say that tower of gray is important because it explains why they don't just fly to egypt and that dark blue moon is unimportant because the runaway girl herself means nothing for the overall plot.
-
This last episode made me think of a single sentence that sums up a lot of Jojo's absurdity in just a few words:
Shit gets real when the heroes fight Vanilla Ice.
Also, not sure if anyone's been mentioning this or not, but I was at a bookstore the other day and they had volume two of the Jojo manga in English (and hardcover)

Good point about the runaway girl, but IIRC in the OVA there was just a bomb on the plane (and then the writers somehow merged the Silver Chariot and Strength battles - really strange idea).
And yeah, I like part 3 the way it is. Some of the early battles feel lackluster and use Jotaro as an instant-win button with little to no strategy involved (but there are many exceptions like Emperor and Hanged Man, The Lovers and Death 13) but the second half is consistently awesome. I'm actually kind of looking forward to how anime-only fans will react to part 4. It's strange that most people who read the manga seemed to embrace the change with little to no complaints - from what I've seen anyway - but the anime community's reaction (while somewhat mixed) basically boils down to "ripple was better, stands suck, Jotaro sucks, monster-of-the-week sucks".
-
i just hope the DVD Set of Season 1 that is coming out will be the BLu-ray Uncut Version and if not, then we get a blu-ray uncut edition announced soon
-
Jojo season 1 is getting a dub now.
-
I've never been so excited for a DVD release. Dub might be cool but just owning JoJo on DVD, and hopefully Blu-Ray, is a dream come true.
-
I'm hoping Seitz reprises his role as Dio. Besides that, I would like Bryan Massey (who voiced Ladd Russo in Baccano!, Dolph in Space Dandy, and freaking Monkey D. Dragon) as Stroheim, if he can put on a German accent.
-
Jojo season 1 is getting a dub now.
I really didn't want to believe it, but if it is true, then that's pretty awesome! I really hope they use British voice actors for Phantom Blood, but that's highly unlikely.
-
Or AT LEAST get the actors to attempt a British accent…. show SOME awareness that this series is supposed to take place in England.
-
It occurs to me that a campy, overblown, or otherwise stereotypical British accent might actually be fitting for a series like Jojo.
-
Tim Curry as Dio pls
-
Something that just occurred to me, now that we're closing in on the fight with Dio. I wonder if "The World" will have words engraved on it, like he claimed he would when he told Pucci about the Green Baby in Part 6.
-
@Purple:
Tim Curry as Dio pls
Holy shit YES!
I would also accept this.
-
I would also accept AntFish voicing every single character

Oh my Dio
! It's WILLY WONKA!

Not sure if this was posted here yet or not.
Have this glorious slam.

How old are Joseph, Jotaro and Josuke in Diamond is Unbreakable ?
-

Jotaro is 29. Josuke is 16. Joseph is 79.
-
Thank you Kage. I'm almost done reading this part. It's my favorite so far.
-
Tell us your favorite Morioh's tourist attraction or urban legend after you're done.
-
Well, I've got my copy of the newly-released English first Jojonium volume. Time to finally dive into this series and see what all the fuss is about.
-
What seiyuu would you like to see in a part 4 anime? I'm hoping for Takahiro Sakurai (Kusuriuri, Cloud Strife, Polar Bear) as Mikitaka, the "alien".
-
I think Diamond is Unbreakable is much better than Stardust Crusader. I can't wait to see it animated.
My favorite story was Star Higway. Eventhough Jotaro didn't appear in this story, it was very thrilling.
Oh boy Jotaro: "Nice watch. Too bad you won't be able to tell the time on it after I break it. Break you face that is!"
I really like Rohan too. Always on Hiatus LoL.
Now I will start Vento Aureo. I have the feeling that I'm going to hear of this invisible baby again… -

Also, don't have high expectations for Vento. Just a quick advice.
