Don't bother with KeyHole for One Piece at least. Install sopcast, follow igalsfy's instructions & God willing you should be able to watch a consistent qaulity live stream of the newest One Piece episodes:
hey guys, i've found a way to watch one piece live in a better quality than KeyHoleTV and without sound lag:
- download sopcast on www.sopcast.com
- obviously install it
- more obviously start it
- enter the following adress: sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/42009&chName=Fuji+Channel
- select "play" and that's it! and you can put it in full screen, as this is a mplayer based application (something i couldn't do on keyholetv)
i watched tonight's episode without any problem!
let's see how it turns out next week if some people try it.
===========
Welcome to our brand new RAW discussion sub-forum. I've set this up centred around an idea that I've been toying with for a little while.
Basically, watching & discussing the latest One Piece episodes live as they are aired in Japan. "How the sh*t can this be done" you ask? By the power of the internet of course & a fantastic little application called KeyHoleTV, maybe you've heard of it, or used it?
"Ok, How the d*ck does it work & what the hell is it", you ask? Simply put it's a P2P streaming app that re-broadcasts some of Japan's top TV Stations, 24/7 directly onto your PC.
IF you're content with streaming One Piece/Anime/J-Drama off sites like Youtube, Veoh, Crunchy Roll then this should be a non-issue. I've been playing around with this for a while and I've found the streaming to be excellent & very consistent, it won't stop & buffer or skip every few seconds like a RealPlayer vid from '98 (though, it will all depend on your own connection speed)
If you are on the other hand, a supreme connoisseur of quality, then a 720p with a SUPER~! tricked out bitrate HD feed this is definitely NOT. So you might wanna hang back & wait for the superior release to appear.
I've lifted a step-by-step guide to setting it up & using this app properly from xorsyst. (It's so simple, really….)
1. Download KeyHoleTV
Head over to http://www.v2p.jp/video/Viewer/ and download the file labeled “SetupKHTV3.02.exe” or.. just grab it directly here.
(They updated last night, so ingore v3.01)2. Install KeyHoleTV
Select English, or which ever language you are most comfortable reading, and install the program.3. Run KeyHoleTV
After the install, run the program and then you are going to be presented with the following screen:In this screen, you will see various buttons, and the main channel guide. Below I will include a guide to the channels so you know what you’re looking at. A brief explanation of the buttons:
Logs you on and off of the server. Sometimes you will see errors saying that you are not connected to the server. Just click the button Off, and then back On to log back in.
Mute the sound, obviously.
Stops the video stream.
The channel listings refreshes every now-and-then. Use this button to manually update the channel listings for KeyHoleTV
After you have selected a channel in the channel listings window, click the Watch button to view the channel.
Right now, you don’t have to worry about this button as there are not many channels available on KeyHoleTV. However in the future, this button is going to be a must have.
This tab allows you to view the video window.
This tab allows you to view the channel listings.
A run down of the channels by user, Dashing @ d-addicts:
"The channel names don't appear to be the actual names of the channels, so it took me a while to figure out which one was which since I can't read anything other than English fluently. If anyone understands what they say, I'd be interested in knowing what they mean. Anyway, here's a little guide for identifying the channels – find the channel by using the names/labels"
Channel Listing: (current as of Feb. 18, 2008)
= Fuji TV (That's our One Piece channel, remember that one)
= NTV
= TBS
= TV Asahi
= TV Tokyo
= Tokyo MXTemporary/Unstable Channels:
=AT-X
= TV Setouchi (TSC)
= ABC TV (Asahi Broadcasting Corporation)
= YTV (As of Feb 12th)"As noted before, a lot of random TV channels/webcams/radio stations pop up from time to time, but most do not stay very long. The above temp channels are local stations from various cities. In some cases, the same KHTV channel may broadcast different stations – for example, showing TSC at one point and then shifting to TBS later. It's a pain to keep up with all of them, so for this reason the standard channels will have the update priority"
There you have it. Install it, have a play around & enjoy it. I'll keep this open for general inquiries, feedback & trouble shooting. So we can get everyone onboard ready to go for Ep. 344 thread, and each new episode thread every week. (Don't SPAM this up, I don't care what episode of SMAPxSMAP you're watching, keep it to OP)
ONE PIECE airs weekly on Sunday @ 9:30 till 10 AM Japanese Standard Time. So wherever you are, try workout the time in which the episode will air in your own time zone, and I'll make note of it in each new thread. (US viewers, I'd figure it'd be around mid to late night on Saturday(?)
