I think this is a great show, great cast, and I love the recent story arc

I used to watch Smallville religiously. Then at maybe the third season I stopped. I forget why I stopped, though. O_O

You can't demand that people not post anything negative.. as long as they're respectful and voice their opinions in a mature way, people can post as they like to. If you don't want any sort of criticism, you should probably not post threads like this.
I used to love Smallville, I watched the first two seasons of it and it was just awesome. But I think it lost me around the whole thing where Lex's father was saved, but crippled, by a decision that was made by Lex. It got a little to angsty for me. I was also a little put off by the "evil" Clark.
The show was a great idea though, I should probably go back and watch some more… at the time, though, I wasn't interested in the direction it was taking.
I'm sorry if my post isn't all happiness and flowers for Smallville, but I had an opinion I wanted to share, If you don't want negative comments at all, maybe you should try a title like "Who likes Smallville?"
If anyone posts anything nasty or durogatory, however, and they'll get theirs... fear not.

Well, Konis said it already but that's a part of a normal discussion. Besides sometimes it can be more thought provocative than just plain blind praising.
I haven't seen it much but I think it's nice - a bit too teeny for my taste though yet more down the earth than I would expect which is a good sign. I like the main cast, they're really fitting choice, especially for Clark Kent. However, as much as I like episodic approach the episodes here seems to always have the same pattern and that's a turn off.
It's a bit like Power Rangers where at the end Clark finally realises some sort of power and saves the day.
Wow I must really be popular now after comparing this show to Power Rangers.
I love Smallville! I can't wait till the season finalie tonight! It's gonna be awsome! It's 90 minutes too!

My mom loves it like hell though, and never misses a single episode if she can help it. As for me, i think it got crappier by the minute. :lol:

Well lately we're beggining to see Lex's true colors…COULD mean something. Anyways I think it's a good show. After all, I can't just watch anime only, I mean I got different tastes and I don't live for only one thing!

first couple of seasons where really good iand i loved all teh little reeferences to superman and stuff. it doesnt intrest me as much anymore its gotten really predictable although i do enjoy watching lex slowly get even more evil as the show progresses prob one of the reasons i still watch it. but i dont like how much lex found out about clark because in teh future when he is superman and lex is the bad guy you would think he would be able to put the pieces together.

Anyone here watch Smallville? It's an awesome show…some of the episodes were horrible early in the Smallville seasons, but at least now they are focuses more about Clarks future (esp w/ flying, and of course Lois Lane). season 8's finale and premiere wasn't that great, and maybe some other ones, but it did have great episodes like Identity, Bloodline, & Bride
It started on the 25th of September and so far it aired 2 episodes.
This show went rock bottom in my view. I can't explain it… For some reason, it's desperately asking itself to end. I have that feeling that it could end anytime, but for some reason it just continues to drag on.
I use to love this show a lot, but then it started getting repetitive, with Clark accusing Lex of everything.
"Lex! I heard about a large number of people dying of swine flu in Smallville."
"um, yeah?"
"I know you did it!"
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm on to you!"
And taking 7 seasons to get over Lana, or someone shooting Lionel Luther (before he kicked the bucket). It only started to really irritate me when they introduced major villians like Bizarro and have them for 1 or 2 episodes. Doomsday was a major letdown as they got him caught up in a love story, and that they gave him a human form and only showed his true form for perhaps 3 episodes.
None the less, I do find the show to be pretty entertaining. I haven't seen any of the new seasons episodes yet, but I intend to.
The show hasn't really been entertaining to me in ages. In fact, I had more entertainment value from the show when they just had a meteor freak cause havoc, and have Clark simply throw them at a wall, or a series of buckets, having Lana/Louis/Chloe get knocked unconscious in the process.
Though, I still watch it to see when Clark finally finish learning to fly, but his new "outfit" is really stupid.
I hate Smallville. It's a blasphemy of everything Superman.

And I realized: Clark will never wear glasses, he's never going to get laid (once as a human), he's never going to wear blue and reds.. now I see him wearing Neo's trenchcoat in commercials.

I only watch the show because of comic book character cameos. Seeing people like Cyborg, Aquaman, Roulette, and Black Canary is awesome.

I think the only fight I ever enjoyed was the wax-statue dude. Dude's powers bounce back on him, falls over the staircase railing, crashes and his head comes off.
I watched Crossfire today, it was surprisingly good. Next episode, I'm sure what be even better (probably even better the best)

I don't blame you if you didn't.
I'd say it was average at best..
! It seemed very dragged out and they could've easily cut out a lot of scenes and dwindle it down to 1 hour instead.
! Darkseid only made a few actual appearances, and by that I mean CGI, and none of those appareance lasted more than a minute. All the other times he showed up, he was possessing someone else. And! That fight was awful. Clark just flew right through him (and by "him", I mean a possessed Lionel Luther)… that's it?
! And then Clark flew to the planet Apokolips and pushed it away. Yay, the day is saved! In a very, anticlimactic manner too...
! The dialogue between Clark and Lex near the last half hour was good, and sets up for a nice rivalry that was inevitable. I just wish it was established, um, a few seasons ago.
! Clark got the costume alright, but... we never get to see a full body shot of him in it. At best, we got to see him a distance and (obviously) CGI'd, a few shots of Welling's face with some red on his shoulders, and the end with him opening his shirt and revealing the S, and that was it.
! The last 5 minutes (the seven years later segment) were probably the best of the episode, along with the classic John Williams score to go along with it's very end.
! I know Smallville was mainly suppose to set up how Clark became the man of steel (hence the "no flight, no tights" rule), but they could have at least shown a full-scale shot of him in the suit. Preferably, I was hoping he'd get the suit and learn to fly at the beginning of the episode and have a better fight with Darkseid thorughout.
In retrospect, Smallville was great… keyword being "was". It started off great, and it was nice seeing how Clark came to realize and deal with his superpowers, but it shouldn't have been nearly as long as 10 seasons, and villains came and went too fast.
I enjoyed the first three seasons, but the two seasons that followed were just so bad, I had to drop it and even multiple tries at getting back into it resulted in being slapped by boring monster of the week episodes. I know it gets better again in season 8, but no way am I getting through 50 terrible episodes to get that point.
I've seen exactly two episodes of Smallville: the Justice Society one and the Booster Gold one. Not too bad. Michael Rosenbaum always impressed me, though, whenever I flipped by random episodes through the years.
I gave up on Smallville seasons ago, but decided to watch the finale. Sadly it was a waste of my time and I should have known better, there are so many things wrong with this show that Lois and Clark did better in the 90s…
The kicker was the final moment, when Welling pulls apart his shirt to reveal his feeble thin chest (I'm looking for a screencap, he's not out of shape, but the effect looked horrible live). He decided not to work out for a couple of months for the show that fed him and his family for the past 10 years, for what should have been the most iconic moment of the series.
