@Lazzie:
Gradius Collection for the PSP was amazing. The only Gradius game I had played before was the original, but now Gradius II and Gradius Gaiden are my favorite games in the series. II > Gaiden > I > IV > III. I should get around to playing V.
Gradius Collection is good, but there ARE some issues with it. IV has some slowdown and Gaiden doesn't have 2-player mode. Plus there's ghosting and unless you have the slim PSP or a d-pad hack diagonals are difficult to do.
But since the PSX Gaiden is Japan only this is the only way to play it in the States (besides using a swap disk or the swap trick)
The Megaman X series PC ports are bad. You NEED a gamepad for them, plus in the first game the ride armors are GONE. Except Vile's. :getlost:
Also the Game Gear Megaman is horrid. Only 2 buster shots onscreen at a time instead of 3, plus awkward scrolling (none of the traditional screen-to-screen transitions) and ALL THE ENEMIES HAVE FUCKING INVINCIBILITY TIME AFTER THEY GET HIT. Not just the Robot Masters. The Wily Wars has that same damn problem too.
Anniversary Collection's good but they reversed the controls on the GCN version. B is jump and A is fire. I dunno if this was the same on the NES games but it was awkward to get used to because I had assumed A was jump and B was fire. They should have put in a control config option.
I agree with X3's cutscenes, they were pointless because there was NO voice acting in them at all, plus no in-game voices. Laaaame.
