The manager girl is going to die. Hopefully Sena and Riku can run.
Who is seibu's quaterback? Kid? Looks like he's going to end up in a hospital after this match.
I don't worry about deimon, because they have Hiruma. After the match yakuza will call him 'sensei'.

Watching the Anime and its taking to long to get to the good parts so what chapter is it when they start playing against Shinryji Naga?

Chapter 173.
16 characters.
-
It's nice M7 is doing scanlations now.
I like Kid's attitude. It's hard to believe he had an emotional breakdown as a child. He's so…detached :happy:edit:whoops, M7 doesn't plan on picking up es21
-
Guess no one mentioned this week's chapter: so far I like how Kid is taking Gaoh and the Dinos so easily, but somehow I think this is only the beginning. On the other hand, I nearly cracked up when they introed Gaoh..and the bishonen (assuming he's the receiver) appeared. With so many interesting mysteries regarding them, my head keeps thinking more and more that the Kanto final will be against Hakushuu.
-
Yeah. It would be interesting to see how much Kurita can stand to protect Hiruma, even tough I see impossible for him to match Gaou's super strength..
-
Wait so they inroduced the wide Receiver for the Dinosaurs right? And did they say that skinny guys position. The translation I read wasn't clear enough.
-
heh its kinda awesome seeing Gaou being totaly useless for once, and Seibu is just as awesome as ever tho i still cant stand Riku, also if the new guy on Dinos is a widereceiver then i do wonder how sissy boy is planning on stopping the iron horse.
-
It'd be funny if the skinny guy was a lineman.
-
not impossible he could be a real speedy Defensive end, tho he seems a bit too skinny to be a lineman.
he could be a linebacker maybe ? ah well so far ive got my money on CB,or WR
-
They did say he was the left hand while Gaou is the right, right? I can see him being the next Sakuraba though…....
-
maybe gaou is the power and maybe pretty boy brings the speed he might even be the running back ?
-
The other Devil Bats do need rivals if they face the Dinosaurs.
-
Most of the best teams do have multiple characters that go against the multiple characters of Deimon and provide a more interesting story. At this point, Hakushuu has two important named characters, the same as Bando. The bishonen may make it three if they win against Seibu (which is ironic since that team also has three major players…though someone said they have a fourth but the American run just got to the start of the Deimon/Seibu game). While not as many as some rival teams (Ojo and NASA had five important players, Shinryuji and Taiyo had four), it could be enough if the Dinosaurs are the Kanto finalist.
-
The "fourth" Seibu character they're talking about might be Buffaloman.
-
Yeah, I heard of Buffalo Ushijima, but he probably wasn't as prominent as Kid, Tetsuma and Riku. (then again, Goryusei isn't as well known as Agon, Unsui and Ikkyu, but he still is a prominent member of the Shinryuji team) I'll await the next couple American volumes to see if he's really that important.
-
He's probably as important as that Chariot Bump loser from Taiyo.
-
You got me there. Kanagawa was introduced mid-game to add more to Taiyo. My guess is that Ushijima was introduced in a similar manner cause they realized that Kid, Tetsuma and Riku weren't enough for Deimon rivalries. (but as I said: I've been only following the Japanese releases since the end of the Shinryuji game and have mostly been following the American books beforehand. Anything I need to know about Seibu will be released with the next couple American volumes)
-
@Cap'n:
The "fourth" Seibu character they're talking about might be Buffaloman.
If Buffaloman was on Seibu they wouldn't have ever lost a single game. XP

After catching up on takoubon recently at Otakon and reading last week's chapter I have to take back what I said earlier:
Maruko (the manager) is not Marco's sister. Her name is Himuro Maruko while his name is Maruko Reiji (Maruko is his family name). According to her mini-bio - "A lot of things went on in their (Marco and Maruko) past apparently, but nobody knows exactly what their relationship is."
Oh, and when asked about the whole "Maruko -> Marco" thing, she said, "That guy is so misleading." snort
As for this upcoming game, I really want to see Marco in action. The announcer called him a ball-handling expert, but does he match up to Kid?
-
If anyone else cares and is still not reading scans, 15's out.
Yukimitsu doing the Hiruma Evil Act = win

Yukimitsu doing the Hiruma Evil Act = win
Got it over a week ago: the scene with Yukimitsu and Mamori going psycho is brilliant!
-
Anything happen in the new chapter this week?
-
! Well:
- Another flashback from the dart part.
- Another Dinasour player is introduced
- Seibu touchdown
- Hakushuu return touchdown
- Riku's Roping Rodeo Drive
! That's all, not much has happened, it was good but felt that the talk could have been shorter to more action pages.
-
Like how Hakushuu is developing so far. Tengu is a tad weird (if he was the Dino's ace pre-Gaoh, what position is he now?) and I like how they use the bishonen to score with Gaoh as his main bulldozer…er, guard. Though I think I'm starting to figure out how they could win if they are the next game: simply wear away physically and mentally at Kid to the point where he breaks, then run away with the game. Though with Riku finally demonstrating his own skills, it at least gives Seibu one more advantage to possibly still win this.
-
Bumping the page since ES21 has a cover (on Ritual) and color pages (on Jump's "next issue flash") up. The color page is interesting…some sort of weird "all star game" thing. (particularly peculiar: Sena vs. Hiruma, with what looks like Marco as Sena's QB & Agon on Hiruma's side...but considering how those two get along that just feels weird)
-
If they were actually on the same team I'd imagine agon and Hiruma screwing the team over trying to kill eachother…....well...at least Agon...Do you have a pic by any chance?
-
Can't create it at work but basically just go to Jump's website (http://jump.shueisha.co.jp) and go to the "Next Issue" flash and it will pop up after a bit of hyping on their part.
-
Couple comments:
-The color page seems to be "freshmen vs. upperclassmen"…bit surprised on a few on that side (including Marco, Gaoh and both members of Kyoshin...heck even Panther's there).
-The chapter...I think its official that Seibu is done. They probably can find a way to win without Kid, but with that impact by Gaoh, I think they are going to pretty much roll over now and leave the Dino's to Deimon. -
Gaoh got Kid? I didn't know if he would get him or not with Kid being so confident…...also is this the longest game not starring Deimon?
-
Am I the only one who can't get anything from Ritual?
It looks like their download limit has been exceeded or something..
-
All I can say about this chapter is:
Holy Shit.
It looks like Seibu may actually be down for the count. Yes, Gaoh crushed Kid's arm (broken in two places and looks like maybe shoulder dislocation too). He got him the moment Kid allowed himself to "dream" and say the words "Christmas Bowl."
Much more emotional than I expected. sniff
-
…wow, if that's true about that moment, then that sucks remarkably for Kid.
-
Looking at the pages again:
My bad, it looks like broken in THREE places. The wrist, the elbow, and the upper arm near the shoulder. Gaoh came at him from the back of the arm, I think it's safe to say his elbow is shattered. And that bloody-looking spot may be a bone trying to poke through. Ick.
-
I was mostly referring to how Kid got creamed right when he started to have an optimistic/hopeful thought when I mentioned it sucking immensely for him, btw.
-
I figured that, I was just unsure of my initial diagnosis for Kid's arm.
I'll put it this way: it's bent in three places where it shouldn't bend like that.
-
Kid gets optimistic and then his arm gets brocken in three places….....that's kinda fucked up.........
-
Yeah I was about to say. THAT'LL TEACH HIM TO THINK POSITIVELY
-
I just read a scan of it on manga helpers…...damn.....I don't think they've ever been that intense before....I mean I think Kid had a little blood trickling down his mouth and crumpled down on the field with his eyes open, staring blankly at nothing really. If only Gaoh could do that to Agon and teach him a lesson.......
-
Personally I think that the two-page shot, where we see Gaoh appearing right behind Kid just before the impact has to be one of the best shots in all the major series this week. We know its coming but its just the power of seeing this monster about to destroy Kid's dream (and possibly Seibu's)…dang.
All I know is this: I definately see Gaoh developing as a rival for several characters so far for Deimon's game against them (Hiruma: since he targets QBs, Kurita: being the strongest defensiveman), but I still need to see someone else to rival for Sena considering how easily Riku had it against the rest of their defense.
-
Well they could be like the Sphinx who had no real rival for Sena….....though a rival for Sena is needed.......Montas got a rival in pretty boy and I don't think Juumonji, Kuroki and Toganou have anyone either.....and Komusobi and Taki.......the last time they had a rival was The Kyoshin Poseidons game afor Komusobi and......I guess the Bando Spiders game for Taki...
-
From what I can tell (I haven't been keeping up a super lot with the series), Tengu could make a great rival for Taki. He certainly seems goofy enough.
-
True…...now for some reason I want Tengu to pwn somebody.......
-
Jesus Christ why are there always gross-looking hair-removal ads in Weekly Jump.
Non-hairy Kid looks like a male Suzuna, while Tetsuma's probably looked the same since birth.
The pretty boy "left-hand" of the Dinosaurs is pretty much a sadist, though. Dreams and arms being brutally crushed are BEAUTIFUL.
-
…that was brutal. I'm really sorry for Kid. He can't get a break, it seems. Every time he dares to dream it ends in a disaster
-
Wow. Talk about ruining someone both physically and psychologically.
-
Gaou (Gaoh?) seems like a pretty decent guy off the field, saving his BERSERKER RAGE GYAAAAAAAA. Also, did he smash into Kid hard enough to send his helmet flying off? That'd be pretty badass if it weren't so depressing.
And Marco (Marcoh?) putting on his mob-boss jacket on the colorspread is pretty hilarious and Taki-like.
-
Its sad: the only wins we actually see Seibu get in this series is either against loser teams (Koigahama in the first round) or against Deimon. Whenever they go against the "big boys" (Ojo, Hakushuu), something happens. And I actually like Seibu…
Somehow Tengu could be a good rival for Taki, considering both of them are a bit crazy. (though so far Tengu just seems like he's special teams but he could be a receiver like Monta) As for Kisaragi, we really haven't seen too much of him either so he could be a rival running back for Sena to face against if he really is "Marco's left hand". As for Gaoh...well, Hiruma's got a lot of thinking to do between now and the conference final.
-
I was reading chapter 53, and the title page had a bunch of movie parodies.
http://www.onemanga.com/Eyeshield21/53/11/
I could get most of them right, Hirmura is Neo(Matrix), Kurita and Komusubi are doing ET, Sena is doing Harry Potter, Mamori is Marylin Monroe(SP?), Hah Hah Bros are doing Titanic, Baldie(Name doesn't come to me right now) is 3CPO, but who the hell is Monta and the dog?
