Bleach Discussion Part 2

The chapter's out on One Manga. I thought this page was hilarious, just by Mayuri's reaction.
-
What the fuck did they do with Mayuri's dialogue? He's still awesome though.
-
Once again, Kubo shows us his completely screwed up power scale.
The "zero" espada is getting his ass beat by Kenpachi with his eye patch on, yet he had to take off the eye patch and use Kendo to beat the 5th Espada.
-
That makes me wonder what would happen if Kubo had something like an SBS.
-
The only reason I can think of for why Kenpachi is beating Yammy so easily is that Yammy is focused purely on power, with no real defensive capabilities. Noitora said he has the strongest defense of the Espada, and Yammy constantly seems to forget that he has the Hierro ability (the thing that's like Tekkai). However, that flies in the face of the whole "more spiritual power = less damage taken" thing that Kubo established during Soul Society…
-
Ntoria was a mobile target, while Yammi IS the battlefield, that for someone like kempachi that focus in wanton destruction is excelent.
I would be worried about the threat that Mayuri made to Ichigo, if I cared for him.
-
I for one thought this chapter was decent since kubo didn't forget about ichigo's last confrontation with aizen….but than again he probably had to go back and read the volume that it happened in. Just to make sure most likeally
-
i'm pretty sure Oda copied Oars from Yammisaurus…
that said, Ichid'oh is our last and only hope!(btw, did anything happen in this chapter?! must have forgotten already.)
-
So, any bets on how many chapters in to the final battle with Aizen before Ichigo sees the Shikai and "all is lost"? 4? 5? 15? Its… kind of inevitable.
-
Now Kubo will rip of Kuramada (Saint Seiya) and ichigo will rip his eyes off ^^
Big Breasted Senzu will make it all right later.
-

Fixed. Seems more appropriate now. ;)

huh? when did we find out about yammisaurus, and when oars? pretty sure thriller bark arc was ocmpletely done before we even say yammisaurus

Yeah, Oars first appeared in chapter 456, which was more then two years ago if you consider how many breaks we had since then. When did Yammysaurus appear for the first time again?
-
My reactions:
Mayuriiii~ :D
Byakuya. D:
Kenpanchi! 8D
Hahaha! It seems I wasn't the only one who thought this: 'So…Ichigo is gonna pluck his eyes out now?'
-
if Ichigo beats Aizen in the next few chapters Kubo will actually fall through and be even worse then Kishimoto. Only a little though.
because apparently everyone on god's green fucking earth and even heaven itself has seen Aizen's shikai only ichigo can save the day~ 'wwooo"
Aizen's pimpness aura better get the fuck in gear and show us why he's the main villian for the past 2-3 arc.
I swear to jesus he better kick ichigo's ass so hard.
-
Ichigo is only one of two people to not see Aizen's shikai. The only problem is that the other guy's on Aizen's side.
-
I'm sure that even Kubo can't smurf this up. I mean if Ichigo would defeat Aizen without him releasing his Shikai (not to mention his Bankai) it would be anticlimatic for the simple reason that that the protagonist would defeat the antagonist without the latter revealing his true power. Totally un-Shonen-esque. So yeah, even for Kubo I see no chance of that happening actually.
On the other hand, it requires a good writer to make someone find the weakness in ones strenght (respectively special skill/attack). And that's definitely not what Kubo is. Seriously, I can't believe that a guy like Yamamoto would find no way to defeat Kyoka Suigetsu's hypnosis. Again, total un-Shonen-esque.
…
...
Bleh! ;) -
Ichigo isn't going to beat Aizen now, if for no other reason than his main lieutenants, Smiley and Blindey, haven't been taken out yet.
And we still have a Hell arc to go yet.
Prediction, Ichigo fights him for a really really long time, has 3 or 4 random powerups, each easily countered, Aizen unleashes his Shikai, then its al "oh noes!" Ichigo tries to fight it anyway, but its hopeless. His entire town gets destoryed, Aizen suceeds in his plan.
Then they chase him and random new troops through hell for 20 more volumes, THEN the showdown.
Well, maybe not that bad, but the series is on the verge of its 10th anniversary, (premiered August 2001) and I'm sure Jump will insist he pad it for at least that duration. No way this franchise ends before August 2011, and I have a hard time believing even Kubo could pad one fight for THAT long.
-
Plot holes, plot holes, plot holes. Unless Ichigo goes blind or Unohana does something about his vision, then I really don't see how he would be able to defeat Aizen before he got exposed to his Shikai. =/ And even if he did manage to find a way around Aizen's Shikai, there's still Aizen's Bankai like you guys said. Either way, Ichigo should be screwed. So someone else needs to come in and save the day…:ninja:
I vote for Isshin and Ryūken to come in and kick some butt!
Lol Robby. Your version sounds so plausible. If that actually happens, I am blaming you for jinxing it!
-
Kubo is going to copy/paste the exact same result from the last time they fought, except for 2-4 random fighting chapters.
-
Ichigo's father comes in and actually does something.
The end.
-

D: Nuuuuuu !
-
Ichigo"s father is actually the best Bleach character
-
Hmm, well this certainly has the potential to be an interesting couple of upcoming chapters. I do doubt though that this is going to be the final showdown with Aizen because not only will it be anticlimactic, but it will be completely nonsensical (but then again we do have Kenpachi and Byakuya fighting Yammysaurus) Unless of course it turns out that Aizen was merely a puppet and Kisuke has been the mastermind all along :P
-
i'm confused.
didn't ichigo see aizen's shikai during those hypnosis chapters?
-
when did kenpachi see aizen's shikai?
-
Plot holes are holey, but hey, at least we had some nice character interaction. When Kubo puts the plot aside and just lets his characters bounce off each other it's actually pretty entertaining. I miss that.
But <3 for Zaraki, who reminds us why we love him. Nice expo on Mayuri and Byakuya too.
It's this sort of thing that ultimately will always put Bleach above Naruto in my personal rankings. Bleach's plot may be slower than fuck and constantly falls apart, but at least Kubo doesn't forget to showcase his side characters pretty frequently. Unlike Kubo, who has cast aside all his awesome side characters for a plot that, while slightly more put together, still finds itself severely lacking.
-
We have a gin bankai we have tousen "using his own sword" we got wonderweiss or did they kill him yet? Cant remember
We got the royal guard with the 12th squad captain that got promoted and maybe even the king
We got isshin
We got ishidas dad
We got those idiot humans Tashigi or whatever her name is
We got urahara we got tekkai (demon guy)
Still has yet to see a vastrolode Apparently since 1 of them could beat 2-3 captains not that kubo remembers that
and what else I guess thats it but yeah Hell arc aswell

I AGREE. '
EDIT:actually I have more to say about Isshin. WTF where the FUCK HAS HE BEEN? And if kubo tells me he's been training those kids from earth to battle now I'ma find kubo, and I'ma hurt his hand so he can't draw until he's learned his lesson.
Isshin better be from the 0 division

Only if Kubo goes back and reread all of his manga, which with the quality it has is rather doubtful. Then again, he thinks his stuff is cool so he perhaps wets his pants when rereading it. :getlost:
-

That would actually be kinda cool!!
-
I see an easy way to stop ichigo from seeing his shikai Getsuga Tensho to his face simple.
-

Suzumushi is his Zanpakuto, or at least it is his now. A person can only have one Zanpakuto, and a Zanpakuto can only belong to one person. They've explained this already. In fact, I haven't seen it yet, but isn't the second movie about Toshiro fighting a dude who also got the same Zanpakuto as him?
As for Wonderweiss, he's fighting Kensei at the moment, unless Kensei has grounded the kid into meat paste with his Bankai.
-
No matter what the reason, I still find Ichigo being everyone's last hope completely ridiculous.
But whatever. We'll get to see some cool poses and power-ups. Maybe even a few one-liners. And on that note, I rather like the shading.
-
The gate guardians are gonna save the day.
Wonderweiss
Every time I hear this name I wanna punch Kubo in the face.
MAJOR UPDATE TO GREG'S OPINION OF KUBO
I have some newfound respect for Kubo.
It seems that while Oda lives for his fans (I mean that in a good way) Kubo is probably the mangaka closest to being a normal human being. In reading the author's weekly comments from JUMP, his name comes up a LOT from the other authors, usually with regards to parties or events or even opening his work place to them. On top of this, while Oda is busy working his ass off, it seems that Kubo is the one who takes up the slack with JUMP covers. The man has a shitload of them under his belt.
He does all this while maintaining one of Japan's most popular currently running adventure comics.
Seriously gotta respect that. (no bullshit)
-

Personally, I can't understand why Byakuya couldn't beat it simply by getting close to Aizen and then spamming the living hell out of everything around him with the gojillion blades generated by his Bankai.

Now now,That would be too easy. What Kubo wants here is a good ole' battle, not a solution.
That's crazy talk. -

lol.
never thought anyone would take this serious…
@GaaraofTheDesert:Ichigo"s father is actually the best Bleach character
he's pretty cool, but i liked one armed pig-boy sister best. don't know her name tho and i'm pretty sure she was forgotten.
-

If Ichigo can survive that attack, Aizen can.
And more than that, its an all purpose Hypnotism-no-jutsu. The Aizen that Byakuya would be attacking would actually be a mile off to the right preparing to shoot him in the back. Or all the swords would harmlessly curve around him. When a guy controls your perception of reality, you're pretty screwed.
Alternativley, Aizen is so powerful, those sword shards would shatter harmlessly against Aizen like a useless DBZ fireball.
He's an endboss, he can cheat.
-
wasn't Ichid'oh already hypnotized when Aizen deflected his sword with his finger? ok, the hollows did this to him all the time, but i think Kubo only changed that fact because he wanted to have at least that one reason why Ichid'oh is important (which he isn't) and maincharacter. Aizen found him "interesting" (for no reason), so why would he slip the chance to hypnotize him as well?
-

Rofl, nice post. :D Byakuya bankai is pretty much useless now it never works on anything. He'd be better off just regular sword fighting.
-
why would ichigo have been hypnotised
-
It's been awhile but didn't Ichigo see Aizen's Skikai back around the time Hinamori got stabbed?

about how many JUMP covers we talking about greg, a couple thousand?
-

Nah, it works, you just got to be his vice-captain…or an immobile pumpkin monster who threw away his only advantage for the stupidest release ever.

AIZEN SAMA! BANZAI! BANZAI! BANZAI!
(I just had to do it)
-

Can you provide the link to the specific chapter please? I completely forgot about this.
-
I think what Unohana said to Ichigo is just all crap. She just want to say some sort-of-well-sounding-reason. But deep inside, she really believes Ichigo's the only one capable of fighting Aizen because of a yet-to-be-revealed reason. And I think that reason is the one which compelled Mayuri to send Ichigo back to the real world -the reason which Byakuya seeks from Mayuri.
It's interesting to note that Byakuya is a new captain (110 years ago he's still young). He has no knowledge of something older captains knew (well, Mayuri is also a new captain but he's already a knowledgeable individual 110 years ago). I think Ichigo's father is the reason here. It's all in the genes for all we know. His father's shinigami garment is different. That should tell something about his father (which IMO tells us how strong his father is).
-

Ichigo was not even there when hinamori got stabbed so mmbug is wrong
Aizen has never released shikai infront of ichigo kubo got it right
