The Office Discussion
-
-
I was contemplating starting a thread last season, but it seems tha threads never go anywhere when I do for some reason.
Anyway, yeah this show is pretty much the best thing on tv right now.
-
i really enjoy it, and your right it is the best thing on tv right now

I assume your talking about the american office as the original one only had two seasons. I'm not a huge fan of the american office as its humour is in a different tone to the one from the original - its more americanised. But then again I guess that's why they're both so popular as they're made for their intended market. If you watch the american one, watch the english one and see what you think :D

yup the amercian one, i have watched the enlish one and i really did not care for it, the characters just did not appeal to me british comedy i cant get into, sans a few movies but the humor is so DRY. there is a lot more randomality in the american version, the characters are much more inderingspelling and i dont know i am not a TV person and this show really caught my eye to the point i watch it constantly …....
-
I love the UK Office just the feel of it is great. Sure, US Office tries to force more jokes by making the boss seem like a baboon but that's just Michael Scott's character.
The preview NBC showed last night for "Dunder Mifflin Infinity" was hilarious.
-
My sister has all the seasons that're out on DVD so far. She and I are enamored with the US version. I am interested in seeing the UK version though.
-
Oh season 4 started??!?? But shit they're on Thursdays…....good thing for online viewing.

Well I can understand that. I mean I personally find the american one too silly and slapstick (kinda). But then again, the people who made the different versions were aiming at their own kind so its obvious americans would like the american more and brits would like the british one more. There is also the fact with me that I find Ricky Gervais so incredibly funny.
P.S. Have you seen Extras by him?
P.P.S It's "endearing" :D Though I personally find Tim and Dawn in the UK version extremely so.

I love the original Office.
I haven't seen the American version.

Maybe thats why I find English humor very unfunny…
Anyway, The Office is a great show. Ive never complained that an episode wasnt funny. I wish I wouldve watched it from season one though.
-
tomorrow is office Thursday Another hour long episode….. god NBC is going all out this season
-
I watch the American version and find it hilarious, it was hard to watch at first but it ended up growing on me.
As for the British version: I really tried watching it, but it's just not as funny(maybe I just dont get British humor).
Oh, and 'Support the rabid'! XD one of my friends really wants to get one of those bracelets and get people to think shes supporting a real cause. -
Wow, once again the short at the beginning confirms that Andy is indeed my favorite character.
I knew something was going to happen when Ryan told us how he emailed Karen back in "Women's Appreciation" and She did email him back when Jim dumped her. I still think a possible Karen X Ryan hook up when Dunder Mifflin Infinity launches and Michael goes to the launch party in NYC.
Sucks about Angela and Dwight, however I can't say I didn't see it coming especially since Dwight did murder her beloved cat. Heres for Andy and Angela.
-
Hahaha nice try Ryan!! Man, I LOVE the dynamic between Jim and Pam.

How much do you wanna bet that Toby hearing Kelly is pregant is going to bite Ryan on the ass one day soon.
-
My friends made me get into this show and I have been watching the current season. I love it so far. It's pretty brilliant.
"Blink once if you want me to pull the chord."
Dwight is probably my favorite character. I also really like Tobi for some reason haha. The stunt he pulled at the begining of the newest episode was awesome.

Those two are awesome, but fuckin' Creed blows them out of the water.
-
The premiere, as well as this week's episode, was well done, but I do have some annoyances here and there.
First off, both episodes dragged. Yes, they were an hour long, but no hour long episode before (except maybe one or two) had ever dragged before for me. The plus side to this is that it was like watching two episodes of the Office in a single week.
It also seems as if Andy has suffered a reduced role. He has become one of the background characters, which is a shame, because not only is he awesome, but I feel it was definitely hinted that he would have a role as relevant as Dwight. More time for Creed I guess, who had been awesome by the way.
I was surprised to see Jim and Pam go public by the second episode. It was also nice to see that Toby's little crush was not forgotten. Oh, and Jan's a little bit respectable this week too, which is awesome, as I was getting tired of her being a 'crazy-beetch'.
-
I haven't watched the US Office since about halfway through the second season, though that really doesn't have much to do with my opinion of it, it's just a lot of TV to watch.
I have the UK DVDs and the things that the UK version does better are the brevity and the realism. Being really short meant it never had time to wear out its welcome and it sounds from what people are saying like the "story" draw of the US Office is just being drawn out endlessly. Also, it's nastier and more spiteful and bitter, which makes it a bit more interesting.
This is not to say that I think the US version is anything less than great, though. They're both fun.
-
I don't like Ryan now, he seems like a total ass. Of course, I thought he was a bit of an ass in the older episodes as well (especially that one episode where Michael went to his business school), but he definately seemed to have become very…dunno, nasty since he got the promotion. I think the writers were going for that.
But Creed dying his hair was awesome.
-
This episode was a landmark, creed time traveled last week he said he was 81 and this week 29or 30 in November…. another point made in the episode is once again Micheal does not like to be proven wrong ..... He told Oscar to STFU .... Ryan has become a corporate sell out .... he, and his 200 dollar hair cut have changed why cant he just be the fire guy again.
-
one of the best shows on television, definetly the best comedy.
SO great. he drove the car into teh damn lake. -_-'
-
Steve Carrell is genius.
-
many a development is happening week by week my friends
if you did not watch last night's eipisode andy pulled a d!ck move stream at nbc.com for full episode -
Am i the only one bored with Jim and Pam's actual relationship? Looks like it's a big fan favorite, but IMO Jim's character is being totally wasted this season, i miss their old tension.
That said, "Branch Wars" was great. "Just climb on top of her and think about Stanley!" -
love the english version, the American one was too hard to get into for me tho.

I'm still watching old seasons, trying to catch up.
The episode with Dwight and the mace spray was amazing.
