Is it just me or is every team in Naruto composed of one girl and two guys?
Naruto Discussion III [Redux]

Its part of Kishimoto's instincts.
"Alright, I got these two new villains/antagonists. They're pretty cool so far. Shit, I need a motive and backstory or something, I mean where are these two coming from….erg......uhn wha..what? AKK! NO ....MUST...NOT....MAKE ...THEM....SADSACK.......CHILDREN…...ARGHHHH….RIDICULOUS SOB STORY GO TO JUMP EDITORS….
No!! no….no."
-
btw… where is the token black guy in naruto? i dont recall any atm.
-
There you go. -
In before someobody says "THis guy who was somewhat darker toned in the anime is BLACK!!!"
-
-
What?
…...What?
If anything, the kid Pain kills yahiko and takes his body.
as all of pain's bodies seem to have the same eyes.
It would make no sense to have Pain be the light haired kid with the bad hair cut's eyes. I don't see how you could come to that conclusion.
and I still like this better than Pain being naruto's brother or some shit.
Honestly, it could be either one of them. Nagato has Pein's eyes and stuff but Yahiko seems to share a lot of Pein's ideals and stuff. I'm thinking there's some kind of weird combo thing going on, because it makes no sense from a storytelling standpoint to give the kid a big speech about changing the country and protecting everyone and then say "lol that other guy is pein you have no importance here".
-
Why do all main manga characters have gay ass storylines about either neglection or family deaths?
Pein is no different, and I actually thought he would be. I'm not giving up on liking him, but it's so normal for him to have such a backstory. "Th-those eyes!"; how many times have we heard that in Naruto.
-
because small kids cant run off on adventures if their overprotective mothers are still alive…
-
Bzzzt. Try again. -

@$abZ:

Because people eat up stories about a wandering warrior with a troubled past, abandoned and/or betrayed at a young age by their friends and/or family and/or town.
-
Back to business, I find it kind of nice that Pain is originally from rain country, so at least the civil war but makes sense.

obviously that mother isnt overprotective though.

You know for some reason this would be a good idea if everyone in the Naruto-verse was blind. No eyes = no problems from Sharingan/Byakugan/whatever Pain has/whatever Zetsu has/etc. (and yes, I know Itachi is going blind from his overuse of his, but he's not there yet)

If anyone's going to go blind from overuse, it should be Mandara. He's been around for a little over a hundred years, you'd think he'd have used it long enough for the supposed side-affects to kick in, unless of course, the whole going blind thing is a theory, which it is. I don't remember anyone ever mentioning that overuse can result in eye damage, just chakra exhaustion. If so, and I'm mistaken, pics or it didn't happen.
-
Yea.
Imo, him being naruto's brother would have been really retarded.
Not everyone needs to be related Aldrich. I mean isn't that the reason for the uchiha bullshit?
That's not it, it's just because he doesn't have any sense of individuality and doesn't have that "major villain" feeling that made me interested in him in the first place back when he was still the unrevealed, unnamed Akatsuki leader.
First we learn he takes his orders from Madara so he's not the real AL, then this chapter strongly hinting at the fact his first appearance wasn't even his real self and that he's actually some random Uchiha looking crybaby douche swaping bodies. Not to mention the incredibly lame backstory that sounds like something Kishi made up on the spot two weeks ago.
My shallow reasons to like a Naruto character: design, backstory, fighting style. Pein horribly fails in the three categories.
-
I thought u like Pein's look Aldrich? Or you could mean that since he isn't related to Naruto, Pein's design was just Kishi being lazy instead of storyline purposes. That I'd agree with depending on how this flashback goes.
And we haven't seen him fight yet, so the jury's still out.
-
Pein is the dark haired kid with the shitty haircut. That's his real identity, and that design is garbage.
And yeah the fact he made him look like EVUL NARUTO at the beginning for no reason other than to establish that pathetic, tired Team 7 parallel again (THERES THE LOUD DUMB KID THE DARK JACKASS AND THE GIRL DOESNT IT REMIND YOU OF SOMEONE NUDGE NUDGE) doesn't help.
Naruto bro >:(
-
He kind of reminds me of that SAD, BROODING asshole from the Samurai Shodown/Spirits games who fought with the buzzsaw thing and spent his time crying about his girlfriend or whatever
Seriously I'm sick of TRAGICALLY TORTURED characters
-
I'd rather just have a vilain be someone who's perfectly fine, and just kills people because he enjoys it.
-

"fine"? oxymoron?
-
Well, background wise, nothing to indicate that his psyche would develop that way, no forseeable problems, etc.
Just fucks someone up.
-
This guy?
-
Dang, even in the fillers Ibiki is just such a great character. Probably outside Anko, he's one of the few characters who actually gets development outside the manga. (even if it means getting a wimpy little brother)
-
I don't care if Pain cried one time. Compare him with an Uchiha is such retarded. I'm sure he has great jutsus, his bloodline must be terrible powerful, and of course, who cares about his past when he killed Hanzou, his family and every shinobi that don't like his ideals? He knows Jiraya too, but he wants to kill him without contemplations. For me his design is good because he has 6 bodies and like the fodder said, his heart lacks any piety. Isn't enough reason to like his character?

But you could say the same about Itachi. (except if the whole I wanted to protect my family and Madara actually killed them thing is true)
-
When I say "family" I mean Hanzou's family, not his family.
-
When I say "family" I mean Hanzou's family, not his family.
But destroying one's own family is much more cold-blooded than killing the whole family of an enemy which is reasonable since they are ninjas.
-
Why are you nit-picking at mangafan's broken logic?
-
-
@Fire Fist:
This guy?
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l307/Jerrickd/Kefka-Laugh.gif
Naruto would kick ASS if he were the new enemy/anti-hero/kill off Narutard and replace him with Kefka.
-
Well another crying, sad, and broken character arrives. All I can hope for now is that Pein will make a good fight for Jiraiya. It's kind of pathetic how easily he stopped Konan from going at him though.
-
I'm sure next chapter Konan will have some super secret technique hidden up her paper sleeve that will make Jiraya have to use his super secret technique that will make him win easily.
-
Ugh, another stupid eye.
This chapter kind of kills Pein for me, though perhaps he might redeem himself by fighting well against Jiraiya.

I'm beging to think that Kishi has eye fetish.

That's the naruto i know, where the most obvious tactics are presented as the masterly moves of elite shinobi.
Spitting at the origami lady wasn't even a complete jutsu. It's just the oil that's used for that froggy fire release jutsu. Now imagine him throwing a lighted match at her.
Considering konan couldn't fly through the rain, i guess a simple bucket of water would have sufficed to bring her down.
Quite a remarkable weakness for an akatsuki of the village hidden in rain.
Konan's abilities are cute though so i guess it's ok -_-

Wait, I think I just had deja vu.
O second thought, no I didn't.

Oh.
Those are good reasons then, as those were pretty much my thoughts as well. XP

Another useless female character!
Even the motherfucking akatsuki member. -
Sometimes, you wonder if Kishimoto even remembers what he was drawing the day before.
"Hmmmm, looks I made some sort of origami chick. I'll just make her weak against water or something. It's not like she's from the RAIN VILLAGE or anything."
-
I thought Jiraiya shot oil at her?
Unless i missed something.
-
Was tenten always in the shippuden 2nd opening?
I lol'd at her depression at not having a role in the ending(and possibly being forgotten at first)
Just like in the manga
-
@Cap'n:

Yeah but the same concept applies since Pain had to stop the rain just for Konan to get around with her origami powers.
-
Yeah, you read right Carter. It was an oil attack that Jiraiya used on Konan.
-
@Cap'n:

He did, but I'm pretty sure since Pain had to stop the rain for her to use her move, she can't get wet either.
But I mean after Hidan, I'm really not surprised by Akatsuki fail anymore.
-
Maybe they wouldn't fail so frequently if the group's name wasn't so shitty.
