I got issue 31 of the 2005 run of Weekly Jump. In the spread with more info on Fighting For One Piece, there was an ad for Pirates Carnival. What I can gather from the images is that it is 4 players and is a party game.
Pirates Carnival

…is this for the Gamecube?
-
Heh! :P It reminds me of Mario Party. That'd be great if they made a One Piece Version. I'd seriously buy it! :D

I hope this game is for both GameCube and Playstation 2… Thanks for sharing, EvilGamerX
-
That game would definitly be mine and I already plan on buying all the one piece games.
-
…A One Piece party game? Blech.
-
i want that game but i wouldnt have anything to play it on :(
it looks like alot of fun -
The game seems cool. I always liked Mario Party
-
yay! that sounds like so much fun!
-
Hah, this would save my friends and I the trouble of just making up One Piece character names on Warioware. God, I love that game.
Yeah, and Mario Party is addictive, I just hope that this will be a game similar to that rather than one of the boring not-worthy-of-a-second-chance party games.
-
Thanks for the images Battle Franky. Now I want that game even more. Any words whether this will just be a Game Cube exclusive or if there´s a chance to have that one for PS2 too? <_<
-
It's for both the Gamecube & PS2, Ivotas.
-
Yippie!!! Thanks a bunch for that info Battle Franky. Since I´m not the only One Piece fan among my friends this game will make sure that we´re going to have a hell of a time playing. It appears that I really have to mod my PS2 now.
-
Any chance of a US release?

Any chance of a US release?
Ener is in it. Probably in an edited form.
-
no Vivi or Fanky? Ace? Mihawk? Shanks?
-
Ace is in one of the Screenshots…
-
Heh, the Blackbeard cherry pie eating contest & the Wapol House game look fun!!!
-
GOD this looks awesome…I have a lot of OP loving friends too. ^__^ OF course I wouldn't play with alex.....
-
Make. The. Chibi. Stop.
This is not a $50/Y5000 game though. These games belong as little Java games on the Internet.
I never saw these party-games as good value for money for that reason.
-
Make. The. Chibi. Stop.
NEVER!
I think this game looks very cool. Be a blast to play my siblings/friends if it's anything like Mario Party.
-
I hope they translate it without screwing it up like the GB Rush one, this games are difficult without understanding what it says <_<
-
LOL! Pie Eating Contest! Everybody loves pie! I wonder how Nami and Robin will be like eating pie in a big hurry.
-
when does this game come out
It kind of reminds me of treasure battle only with chibi's
-
HOLY SHIT!!! This game looks awesome. That´s exactly what I need when I sit around with friends. A Mario-esque party game with One Piece characters. I seriously hope that this gets translated. But since I plan to make import games play on my PS2 in the near future it wouldn´t even be that bad if they don´t translate it.
Thanks a bunch for sharing those images with us Battle Franky. When does it come out again?
Edit: Ok, I could relate one scene to one of the characters repsectively arcs on that pic above. However I´m having trouble identifying to which character, scene that game/screen cap that is between Krieg, Kuro and Arlong belongs too. I just don´t know.
BTW, even Smoker is in the game. Darn I sooo much want it. And I hope there´s a "Own Bellamy in under five seconds game" in it too. :steve:
-
Hehe…that does look really amusing. I'd rather do pie-eating contests than just run around and fight.

Word! This one looks like a real life-waster candidate. Me wants it badly. :steve:
BTW, I find it funny how Crocodile even in his chibi mode doesn´t lose his pimp-appeal. That dude has class!
-
I wish there's also an anime opening with Kokoro No Chizu as the song!
-
game2005, you just took the words from my mouth, dude
-
-
argh those pics to seem to be comin up
-
@Kei:
A whole bunch of screenshots can be found here:
Those pics don´t seem to load for me. :bawling:
-
Strange. They work fine for me. o_O;
The site gets heavy traffic sometimes, maybe try again later.
-
The exact same images can be found on the Pirates Carnival website.
-
Even a minigame of digging holes in Yuba… XD
Yay! Big images of the chibis, thanks Kei...
-
im excited about this game it looks awesome!
-
Woo! This game comes out Wednesday! Anyone else getting it?
Also, it looks like the third page of the website is finally up. It's definitely a Davy Back Fight type deal, but unfortunately there's a quiz game! Even if I knew those crazy facts I couldn't answer it!
Oh well. It looks like you get to play as Sanji and punt people into a goal, so no complaints here.
-
@Battle:
Hey! where'd you guys come from?
So anyone imported this yet?
-
@Kei:
A whole bunch of screenshots can be found here:

~Kei
How can you guys not see the pics!? They're awesome! It's like a One Piece Mario Party!!! O.O; If it's released in the US I don't care if it's in the edited form I must play it!!! ^0^ takes piccy of Chibi Sanji Kawaii!!
-
I didnt even notcie cp9/paulie and franky were on the cover. Maybe i'll import this game afterall….tho who has imported it i need some reviews first
-
Geez, the cover looks great __
-
Wait a second, was CP9 always on that cover or not? Because I´m sure that when I saw the cover for the first time there was neither CP9 nor Franky nor Paulie on it. Am I imagining things here or not?
-
They were added like last month.
-
Funny, I checked this thread on Monday and the boxart hadn't been changed. Perhaps it was just amazon.jp that was slow to update!?
Anyhow started playing Pirates Carnival this morning. Basically, it is what it is, a fairly standard Mario Party clone with the a One Piece coating. I've only played it briefly, but it's pretty fun so far. It's fairly text heavy to introduce the rules of the mini-games, but from the 10 or so I've played, you generally get the gist of the games straight away or at least after one or two attempts.
Out of the few mini-games I've tried there's:
(Pretty easy stuff really)
(you can only use this once)
And that's pretty much Pirates Carnival.
-
@EvilGamerX:
They were added like last month.
Ahh, thanks for the info. I really thought my mind was playing me tricks again. What a relief.
@ Battle Franky: Hope you don´t mind me bugging you with questions but could you please tell us how many different games in total there are in the game?
Also you say that the game is fairly text heavy. Could you please specify the "fairly". I mean would a person like me that can´t read a bit japanese have problems to get the hang of the games or not?
Sorry for the annoying questions but after the bad experience I´ve had with Grand Battle I´m really considering to mod my PS2 to play the japanese version of Pirates Carnival. But if I wouldn´t understand a thing then it would be a waste of time and money IMO.
