I must say I'm a virgin, don't recall that I have some wish to lose it to just someone though. I just take it as it comes. And, Nicholas, all guys in sweden do not think about sex all the time, my obsession is with One Piece. :D

Whether or not you save sex until marriage depends on what marriage means to you. Some people think marriage is just a piece of paper proving 'love', and for those people I'm sure waiting until marriage doesn't make sense. But there are also people who doesn't take marriage lightly. I think that marriage is not just about love, it also consist of commitment and responsibility. Commitment to want to make it work, to do all you can to save it and not immediately think of divorce if it goes rocky. Responsibility for each other's well-being, physical and emotional, which extends to children that the couple may have.

My view about sex is like Konis. It's like the ultimate intimacy, you share your most vulnerable state with a person, and having it with not the right person can be regrettable. Especially without proper sex knowledge, like that person whose girlfriend is 'dry'. I'm a virgin, but even I know why that happens. roll eyes

And that's why I think that teenagers, in general, should wait. The reason is during those years, people think they know everything, including about love. Every time you have a crush on someone you would think that it's love. But most of the times you went out of love quickly once you know the true nature of that person, thinking "why did I like him/her in the first place anyway?". Most teenagers aren't wise enough to know love. Besides, people change as they become adults. Most people I know usually have the turning point in their personality during their college years, and drift apart from their highschool sweethearts because both of them just aren't the same people who 'fell in love' before. (Of course there's nothing magical about turning 20 from 19, just put 'teenagers' there as a guideline okay, to mean 'after kids before adults')

Btw I'm 21, and I've been through falling in and out of love. Right now I have a serious boyfriend, and while we're getting to know each other to know if we want to spend our lives together, we agree to wait.

I also agree with omae, in that if someone view sex lightly before marriage, sex with their spouses will also be the same light matter. It just won't be something special.

I'm 19 and am still a virgin. To me it's not just religion that makes sex look bad. Tradition sucks more. I live in a country so conservative, that even my friends think that any forms of sex before marriage are seen as cheap. I have friends who have had sex before, but they often play around with it, which I do not want to do. Personally, I don't know if I want to wait until marriage. Although none of my ex-boyfriends have pushed me into sex before, I'm currently in an environment where sex is considered as more.. normal. It's exciting but creepy at the same time, because guys here tend to blab, and girl who are blabbed often end up being labelled as sluts. So yeah. I'm confused.

I'm not sure about this one either but maybe folks think it's more important to deter girls because of pregnancy (not that the guys are any less parents) so they give them a nasty label to avoid as well. Plus other girls look down on loose girls much more than boys look down on randy guys.
