General Cosplay Thread

ventures into thread Is anyone here going to be at Anime Detour next year? I'm almost certainly going, I just haven't paid yet.

I really want to cosplay One Piece or something else, but I don't know what to do! First off, I don't know how to sew or make anything. D: Ideas that have been floating around in my head are:

• Marineford Crocodile
• Izaya from DRRR!
• Shingen from DRRR!
• Luffy - maybe normal, alabasta, strong world, or viking Luffy (from colorspread)

The only problem is, I haven't the foggiest clue where to find materials, much less how to make it. I don't want to go the generic cosplay route, such as L, yet I don't want to go spending thousands of dollars either. Are there any veterans here who can give me some advice?

Hmm… much as I love Crocodile, I think that's overly ambitious, same with viking Luffy. I think I've narrowed it down to Izaya and Luffy normal/Alabasta. The main difficulty with Shingen is the gas mask. Is there anyone here who might be willing to take a commission? First I plan on asking some guys from anime club tonight cuz this one girl handmade her own awesome Utena cosplay, though.

I'm doing Zeo for AnimeNext 2012 I finished white body suit (drew in the black camoflague and finished his skirt), and continuing working hard at the gym to get the desired body silohuette(if I do better than expected I might go Hody) I'm puzzled on what to do for the head i was thinking of modding a Zoidberg latex mask or just add those tendril things myself.

Thanks Areebee! c: I worked pretty hard to do the mask right, when I made this cosplay the average of Brook's cosplayers used cheap Halloween masks… I wanted to do BROOK's head, not just an imitation :p and from the beginning I wanted to do the head and the jaw properly, being these so characteristic of him xD

England, but I had a breakthrough!
I found a website which has the boilersuit with the symbol on, but it's actually more expensive than getting the full pre-timeskip Law cosplay (which is the hat the hoodie and the trousers)

just went a bit cosplay crazy today after getting a bit of x-mas money A planning to cosplay Time Skip Usopp at Otakon this year!! GOT SO MUCH PLANNED. A bit overwhelmed! Is anyone else already planning or working on any cosplay for next year? Also, Zortegus… my god man. AMAZING work

There are some new pictures we took two weeks ago when a friend from a near city came to visit us. We convinced him to do Luffy cosplay and he did it… in one night! In his holidays! xD

Sadly, the day we choose to do a photoshoot it was raining sooo bad, so we couldn't take too many pictures, but theeeen we discovered an incredible cafe, so we entered and finished our photoshoot there, because it was so onepieceistic! xD

The day after that it was sunny, so we went to the beach and took some pictures there :3

With con season rolling around again I am trying to figure out what I want to do for Sakuracon. I feel like I always have to do an OP costume, but with two other costumes being made I'm not sure what I'll do. I was thinking of just remaking my Bellemere costume a little nicer, but that nagging for a new costume is hard to resist. Pell is proving the most tempting thus far….

Me and the waifu decided that we're DEFINITELY attending next years NemaCon (we went yesterday and loved it <3 there were at least 2 Luffy's, a Zoro, and two Law's, one of which was ALicimou chwaaaaan and one which was - a surprise to us - one of the ask Laws XD)
I have no idea who the waifu is going as but I'm trying to narrow it down to anyone who has relevance to Mihawk since I wanna take my plushie… heck, Mihawk is in the running...
