This chapter was a big mindfuck. I love it :)
Though i will be dreaming of creepy eyeless hollow Alluka tonight.
Hunter x Hunter

I wonder wich kind of nen power allow Togashi write such amazing stories? I sense a mind battle is going to start here between the two brothers…
-
Well, I suppose the Zoldycs can always lock a harmless assassin victim in a room with Alluka.
-
Ok, so I translated this.
http://mangahelpers.com/t/kewl0210/releases/31990
Alluka is a girl. Killua uses the phrase "little sister". So I was right, they never DID say that they were "all boys".Togashi and his gender confusion.
The true story, on NBC.

Now I'm curious. U die if u decline/can't fulfill her 4 pesterings right? So what if u just run away after u've declined 2 pesterings?
1. The count remains and gets passed on to the next guy who'll only have to grant 2 more pesterings (the first guy either dies or lives)
2. The count gets reset. And the person either dies or lives (tho I imagine he'd die)
3. U can't escape her, by some weird stuff u just cant escape her. Which is more terrifying I guess. What do u guys think?
-
Just read the chapter.
Well, guess I will ask her to give her power to me. -

I think that'd count as ignoring her so basically you can't escape her as she'll keep asking whether you choose to hear or not.
-
what could rescue killuah is the part "depending on how big the wish to alluka is".
But oh well first he has to survive the pesterings from millukis wish -
What is bigger than asking the liver or brain?? I mean she ask for people's lifes already…
-
What if I ask to make a wish without having consequences? hmm it's a very interesting ability but needs more "rules"
-

How about memories? restrictions? identity? there are things worse than death.
-
What if she grants Killua's wish of saving Gon, or whatever needs to be done to help him, and the next person she sees is Gon himself. Then, if I understand Alluka's ability, she might ask him to give up his Hunter license. Could that be a possible scenario? Is that stupid? Yeah probably.
-
This chapter is beyond nuts. She is freaking creepy has hell. I wouldn't get in a room with her. GTFO lol
-
So, question. Does Alluka intelligently decide the four pesterings that occupy the next set based on the nature of the previous wish (not so much as a kid, more so that she's a teenager now), or are they unconsciously derived from the nature of the previous wish? Obviously, when she was a child, she wouldn't understand that people can't live without their liver, duodenum, spine or brain, but she would as a teenager. If she asks for things like that now on purpose, that's one damn sadistic young girl.

Well, the rules have already been mentioned. You need to deny 4 pesterings for you to die. There is no escape from it, you can run but you can never undo it. IMO, the count remains…it will be put on hold...but it will never disappear until you complete the required pesterings. The same rule apply to next person she's going to pester, 4 pesterings shall be asked of him for his wish to be granted.

I suppose it could be possible if she was raised like Killua… I think the questions come unconsciously though, kind of like what's her names fortune telling.

All juju thinks about is to get into a room with a little girl.

They're obviously automatic, otherwise there wouldn't be any counterbalance or worry about what she might request. The people killed are out of her control too.

I wouldn't be so sure until we see the next chapter. Little kids can be cruel and not understand the consequences of what they're asking. Teenagers can to a much greater degree, now that they've have some education in morality. If it turns out that Alluka can consciously choose the condition of the "pesterings", then that would be extremely dark. If not, then it would have slightly less impact. It's either "This is one sadistic, psychopathic little girl" or "Be careful what you wish for, someone else is gonna get screwed."
-
I'm glad togashi touched up on Alluka's abilitie before Killua asked for the favor and not after and make it a surprise.

I don't think that it's very sadistic or psychopathic. I mean it's a family of assassins. As to why she would request organs. Well maybe she recieved anatomy lesson (part of the assassin training or something).
Not denying that it's pretty weird from a normal person perspective.

How about memories? restrictions? identity? there are things worse than death.
??? Someone stop this man saying nonsense!
-
@Thousand:
Freakin' awesome power. But dude, it's totally not fair that the big pesterings are given to the next person who didn't make the wish. How is that equivalent exchange?
The requester may not be the one who has to pay, but the price must still be paid regardless.
-
??? Someone stop this man saying nonsense!
! “You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?… Above such brutality, are you?”
“We both know there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,…Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit—”
“There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!”
“You are quite wrong,…Indeed, your failure to understand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness—” -
The requester may not be the one who has to pay, but the price must still be paid regardless.
But not by the one who should have paid the price:/

How naive, you still have a lot of bananas to eat little chimp.

I see it as a gamble. You never know what kind of favor the person before you asked. If you still want to get your wish then you must risk your life in the process. Isn't that fair exchange of risk and gain?
-
If I were Killua , I would start collecting the dragonballs in order to save Gon

-
Master =/= Male??
-
Glad you guys liked it and all. I wish the typsetter would do a little better job and at least center the text. I guess it was fine though.
Just hope you guys get what I said last week about how Alluka is "above" the level of a Nen Eraser. I read the sentence too fast and I thought it said she WAS last week. And yeah, creepy as hell. Togashi really got that down good. The whole "creepy little girl" thing.
And you think I should've written "young mistress"? I think that sounds kind of odd. "Master" is a pretty gender neutral term. I think it should be clear because I used "sister" and "she" in every instance though. -
So. Damn. Amazing.
Togashi, how you do dis?
-
I don't get it. What if you wish to not have any consequences when she pesters you?
-
Well, since it's Milluki, I agree that the "pestering" is going to be harder to accomplish than he probably thinks. As for the next person…..yeah. He's going to be in a bad situation. I think it'd probably only kill in the hundreds rather than the thousands though since the wish is still only affecting one person, and a billion dollars is still something a ton of people would kill over. So I would guess a thousand people would be killed by the next "pestering". Otherwise, Imagine if someone asked her for World Peace or an end to world hunger....now that might take out a good chunk of the planet.

I don't get it. What if you wish to not have any consequences when she pesters you?
I think in that case nothing happens…as you dont really gain anything, so wont stand to lose anything either
-
I don't get it. What if you wish to not have any consequences when she pesters you?
Then it'd be worthless to ask her anything. It might make the next "pesterings" worse, or it might not affect them at all. I doubt it would make them better though. Plus, if you want to go to her for a wish, that wish would still be separate from what you want to ask her, so you'd still be pestered.
Oh. For future wishes, it's possible you could just not gain anything anymore, or it might not work at all. Technically, we don't actually know how far the nen ability extends, and messing with its own rules could not work.
-
Why do you lot reckon, illumi wants to kill her so bad? She doesnt look that tough to me and if illumi wanted her dead I think he could have killed her already
-

Maybe there's another rule about what happens when she's threatened. I'd think that the family would have considered eliminating her at some point.
-
Also I was gonna mention, I couldn't think of any word better than "pestering" as a gerund for "おねだり". It just basically mean's a nagging questioning like a child does. I think I got the idea across. And "pester" is a common translation for it.
And remember that it has to be "decline 4 in a row". Not in total. Also, this chapter explains why Illumi said "If nothing is done, both Killua and Gon will die." And he said he doesn't want that, so I wonder what he'll do.
-

I guess he secretly asked for a wish or something? OR he knows that the pc is somehow very hard to get and thus has a bad pestering coming afterward?
-

In polite society, (butlery and all that stuff), "Master" is the title used for young boys before they're old enough to be referred to as "Mister."
(Like how in Batman, Alfred always refers to him as "Master Bruce" instead of "Mister Wayne" because he will always be that same little boy in his mind.)This is where the confusion comes from.
-
For myself I feel like the confusion with the "master" = male is mostly because I'm used to reading "ojôsama" when a butler refer to a young girl master.
-
Maybe there's another rule about what happens when she's threatened. I'd think that the family would have considered eliminating her at some point.
Maybe…all in all alluka is a very interesting character. I wonder if you can wish for her to die or not.

milluka asked for the pc not illumi(milluka is the fat nerdish one). If he wanted to ask for a wish, it wont make too much sense in killing her. I think more of her powers will be revealed as kalluto(?) even went and joined the spiders for her sake.
-

Because he mentioned it himself, "I WANT TO ELIMINATE…" - Illumi? It's not Alluka that is deadly, it is her "gift" that threatens them all. Heck, even Silvia takes precautions with her. IMO, Illumi feels threatened by her presence.
Uhmm... Kewl just curious, in the raw version of chapter 320...Did Illumi refer to Alluka as brother? or just as sibling?
-

I am saying that illumi perhaps wished secretly for another thing after milluka got his pc. OR that he knew that getting the pc was a big deal of trouble so the next pestering would be a whole lot of trouble.
-
Well with the money wish she just can't make money appear, she has to use other nen abilities (like teleportation) to grant them. Maybe in order to remove Gon's oath, someone else has to take Gon's oath, or Killua will have to face a pestering that will make Gon go talk to Alluka.
-
You know, you're right. Illumi says "The Zoldyck Family has one more little brother" there in 320. Though Killua uses little sister. Maybe Togashi changed his mind or something. He probably meant for Illumi to say "one more sibling".
-
Even though it was said there's practically no limit to her powers, there has to be some things she can't grant. What if someone wished for world peace? Or for everyone in the world to become immortal? Or for dancing, singing Zombies to Roam the planet in a bizarre apocalypse? Would she simply say, "I can't do that," and act like no wish was asked, forcing them to choose a wish that can be granted, or would she act as if the wish was granted, and thus ask the next person something impossible for her "pesterings", which would end up getting untold people killed?
Also, I get the feeling that once Killua gets his wish to heal Gon, Illumi will come, and will get very difficult Pesterings that will either cripple him or get him killed.
-

I think the limit is "things you can't accomplish with nen", which itself is almost limitless.
For example I believe it should be impossible to wish for the removal of the pestering condition while maintaining the power to grant almost any wish(since it probably would break the oath/the retriction part of this power, which could have heavy repercussion for alluka herself). It's pretty evident that these are all heavy restrictions to make this power that extreme. -
I think the limit is "things you can't accomplish with nen", which itself is almost limitless.
i.e. no Nen ability can be "beyond human boundaries."
