I find it strange that Hancock whos a shichibukai, doesn't know about luffy. I thought with the Enies Lobby incident the WG would inform all shichibukai about him

Luffy's back in action, yeah kick those two ugly bitches ass !!!! and oda also leave a message at the end of the chapter.

Something has been bugging me about this script:
Kikyou: !!! // Margaret!! …Why...?!
Sweetpea: Hebihime-sama!! Th... "There Is An Explanation For This"!!
Aphelandra: That's right!! We found this man covered in mushrooms in the forest!! We thought he was one of our villagers, that's the only reason why we...!!
Kikyou: Sweetpea!! Ariadne!!Why is Kikyou referring to Aphelandra as "Ariadne"? This is a mystery to me.
Also, whoever put up the Hueco Mundo scanlation up on OneManga is pissing me off. The text bubble for "Pistol Kiss" on page 6 is in the wrong place and should be replaced with a better scanlation.

Luffy after the Mero beams
like when Enel used electricity on him and it didnt work"YOU REALLY PISS ME OFF!!!"
Glad he feels the same that I do, and this pretty much confirms Margs is gonna join the crew i think
Luffys gonna save her some how shes gonna be exiled or somethin.Great Chapter, made up for last weeks

One Piece is filled with non-sensical creatures, people and places, but there is a limit of what can be reasonable to the average reader If I told a person "Luffy can stretch because he ate a fruit that gives him the power to become like rubber", then that is self-explanitory. If someone had a power that gave them the ability to turn into a made up creature that spits venom that can turn into stone, then it is pushing it a little far. Oda uses fruit powers that are related to things in the real world…otherwise, it would just be TOO outlandish, even for One Piece, I believe.
wow people want to much reality in a manga if you want reality go out into the world. i like to think mangas give us the insight in a fun and amazing world that would never happen not something based on life that we could just do or see our selves, thats just me
-
I think that Luffy is actually going to try the whole mirror thing. I mean he did confuse it with the Noro Noro beam twice, so he'll probably figure that it'll work the same way. I hope it isn't how the fight finishes, but I'm sure he'll try it. Unfortunately I could see it helping finish the fight because I honestly think Hancock masturbates to herself at night.
-
Well, we knew that the stone beam wasn't going to work. Great chapter. Now Luffy will show them what he's made of and, as said earlier, it looks like Margaret's joining is solidified. Now we have to wait again, but it was a great chapter. Seems like Hancock doesn't take rejection very well.

I believe you misunderstand what I meant. I don't expect One Piece to be realistic at all. But the powers THEMSELVES are drawn from real life examples, which is why anything made up on the spot would not make any sense.
-
The gorgon sisters remind me of Marge, Paty and Selma..

There is one problem with this: unless Margaret has some traumatizing background story like the rest of the crew, it is very unlikely she will join. I am sorry, but this is a fundamental rule for Strawhat membership. Otherwise, the other 2 petrified girls would have to join too seeing as they saved him as well and was betrayed by their country…which is also highly unlikely.
-
oh ok sorry, i guess i took it to seriously, but still even with zoans you still take your imagination to change the skills with it like lucci used the life return techniques to change his body weight and shape and could probablly do it with his other forms. so no matter power they get oda shows that it is not always clear cut and with a little imagination you could turn something so little and change it to something humangus
-
I sense a brief MacGuffin hunt involving the One Piece stand-in for Super Soft coming up soon. Though that might be hard when he entire island is out to kill you. Looks like that fake spoiler last week came true; after a fashion.
I also find it kind of odd that Hancock knows nothing of Luffy. Yeah, she gives less of a damn towards the government than the other Shichibukai, but you'd think that the World Government would dispatch one of those messenger seagulls with the news or something.

Well, it's still relatively earlier I suppose. So since Margaret has spent just maybe a few hours with Luffy whom she still mistrusted since he was a man, there hasn't been much time for her to open up to this complete stranger and the first man she's ever met to give him a backstory.
One thing that goes for her a little bit better than the other two is because she has genuine feelings for Luffy and defended him because she felt that he wasn't so bad. The other two just did so because they wanted to take some of the blame off of their friend Margaret.
-
In the interest of fairness, Usopp's past wasn't all that tragic when compared to the others. Yes, his mother died, but he wasn't embittered by it and moved on, and was proud of his father for being away as a pirate.
Though having your idol (almost certainly) destroy your perceptions of her in such a way could be pretty traumatic.
-
While I'm certain that ear-notching, nostril-slitting, and face-broiling are out of the question for a manga like One Piece, I'd settle for Luffy breaking Hancock's nose or leaving some other permanent facial scarring that counteracts her powers. Afterwards, she can be reduced to village menial, and looked down upon by all but the few Amazons that pity her. Sure, even villains deserve a second chance (otherwise, there would be very different coverstories) but there can be no second chance when
kung-fubeauty is used for evil! -
has anyone thought that the previous leader was a gorgon but a good one and boa and her sister killed her to become the leaders
-
the SFXs in the chapter… specialy when Luffy shouts at hancock, what do they mean? Is she truly in pain because someone isn't affected by her powers?

Heuco Mundos is the best out right now, FH has a whole paged f'ed up, stop complaining.

I dunno. Maybe, though she might have discarded the message, thinking it inconsequential. Though, remember, the only reason Kuma informed Moria of the Straw Hats is because they were headed in his direction.

I have yet to see FH yet, and if it is only a single page, it should be easily redone. Hueco Mundo just took the Translation that was out and copy-pasted the script to whatever text balloon they thought it belonged to. They could at least put some effort into knowing which text goes where…
-
hahahaha, I love Luffy's shit I'm f'd face!!! Good find on the other ones, I knew I had seen that before.
I love how we are getting a training arc here but you know Luffy isn't going to do any real training. I'm with the people saying Luffy learns Haki during this fight, at least to some extent. He's already shown some ability with the skill so when the sisters laugh at him for not knowing how to us Haki, he'll watch and probably pick up how to consiously use it, even if it's not for a while later that there's any good explaination of what it is.
I have to admit, I'm really enjoying Luffy's solo adventure, it's a nice break from the tense story at Sabaody. I hope Oda doesn't spend too long on the rest of the crew though, I feel like that would be better left for anime fillers.

@Salamander:

hancock hardly stays in contact with the WG since she hates it and the amazones don'T seem to be the newpaper reading type (except for the late late late empress) or even seem to care about the rest of the world.
the thing that bothered me most in this chapter was, that on the second last page the gorgon sisters (except hancock) seemingly looked like they both had only one leg and would therefore be maimed. i was wondering if that had been the case all along but then i saw that earlier in the bathroom scene at least sandersonia was standing on two legs while mariegolds feet remained hidden… well, but since i just misjudged mariegolds right leg for missing in the second last page it turns out they are normally both fully equipped... well and since they transformed into a snake and a ??? on the last page it wouldn't be too weird if limbs start vanishing,
BUT what the hell is that thing on the left stump of sandersonia?? is it just a pantyhose or something else and if it is, why is she wearing it only on her left leg? is it fashion?
girls, tell me! -

I don't know which Hueco Mundo scan YOU looked at but FH and the HM one I have are almost the same, except FH has some of the dialog more bolder to add emotion, but honestly they translate almost exactly the same, both completely readable (except for that one page in the FH scan) which, to ME, makes the HM one more better.

Awesome chapter. Things are moving along at a nice, quick pace. Go Luffy!
I sometimes wonder just how much of the world Hancock knows, if before now NOBODY has stood up to her beauty. I can imagine there would be some guys in the New World who wouldn't give a damn how pretty she is. coughwhitebeardshankscough
@Pirate_King_Sage:

Ah, but Sanji is the one who specializes in face-rearrangement.

im not a girl but its like a fashionable panty hoes.it adds flair and character in a way basiccly it kind of like wearing fish nets

@Hancocks Knowledge of the World
I completely agree. I am sure Luffy isn't the ONLY one that can prove Boa's power useless. It's funny how conceded and cry-babyish she is…man I wonder how long she has had that power, I can only imagine how she would be if she had the power since she was a little girl....BRAT CENTRAL.
@Sanji being the Face-rearranger
True true, but like captian, like crewmember maybe? I mean we all have read and some of us may have watched (in the anime) how Luffy totally broke up Oz's face and spine, let alone seeing Luffy punch Moria DEAD in the face....nice and slow.....with a complimentary crunch noise for us brute force lovers....oh man I got the goosebumbs when that happened BOTH in the manga and the anime....truly a must read/watch
-
when i take a closer look at the raw it seems like there is a panda and a rocket (firecracker) on that pantihose :)
-
Maybe whoever has the newspaper will peek at it during the middle of the fight and either see his Wanted Poster (Highly unlikely but it could be unlikely if they believed he survived SA since he punched a Tenryuubito) or it'll just have an article about SA. Then they'll be like "ZOMG HANCOCK HANCOCK LOOK WHAT HE DID"
-
The coverstory is really interesting..Someone suggested the person who taught rokushiki to the cp9 and I like the idea. Also, I don't think Haki is something you can infuse with your attacks easily…I think that the sisters will give Luffy a vague explanation and Luffy will try it releasing ridiculous amounts because he can't control it.
Question: Was that the same panther we saw on the ship???
Sandersonia definitely looks like a snake, any suggestions on Marigold's abilities?
-
they are both snakes
-
Sandersonia definitely looks like a snake, any suggestions on Marigold's abilities?
I want to say they both have different models of the Snake fruit.
Is it just me or did Sandersonia's head not seem as big/wide this chapter?
-
i believe they are both gorgons and switched places with the real sisters of hancock… if not, mariegold is a carp an dies when transforming on land ^^

yes, biting his lip, and magically sprouting eyelashes.

Hmmm….

ill still go with the europeon and americas direction that oda seem to be taking

I don't see how this means Margaret will be joining. Until she gets a flashback I'm absolutely doubting she'll join.

He's using Haki.
If you're serious, no he's not. She's reacting to his answer to her question. "you forgive me too do you not?"
If not… Well then I'm an idiot.
Now Luffy will show them what he's made of and, as said earlier, it looks like Margaret's joining is solidified. Now we have to wait again, but it was a great chapter. Seems like Hancock doesn't take rejection very well.
I thought about this after reading this chapter. It would seems like it could work… Somewhat. Like others have said a traumatic background is something the straw hats have all experienced... Crossword said Usopp's background wasn't as tragic as the rest, so there is a chance... It would be change to see Marguerite join, but also Sweet Pea and Aphelandra with her. I need a background before I am 100% sure she is.
That being said... This could end in a few ways:
- Luffy gets a ride and heads back to the Sabaody Archipelago, Marguerite joins him for her curiosity about man and the outside world (or whatever dream she has.)
- Marguerite becomes the Emperess, and helps Luffy. No one joins. Amazon Lily becomes more prosperous.
- Elder Nyon becomes the Emperess again. Amazon Lily becomes more prosperous. Marguerite joins or not.
- Options one or three: Marguerite, Sweet Pea, and Aphelandra all join.
- Oda surprises us even more with a even weirder ending to this arc.
If all three join, there will be hilarity with Sanji...
-
@Lok:
Holy hell… One Piece got scantalated first for once.
Remember this day for it only happens once every red moon during an aura borealis on the eve of the winter solstice in the land of manbearpig…........
@Shaman:has anyone thought that the previous leader was a gorgon but a good one and boa and her sister killed her to become the leaders
Now this is thinking outside the box compared to the nonsensical crap speculated around here usually. It's a little bit of reach since Boa didn't react anyway when mentioning the last empress when she talked with Nyon but it is possible and would def be a surprise I wouldn't expect.
-
omg whats with the plea for flash backs. also she doesnt need it right away like robin and nami cause they didnt get flash backs in the arcs they were introduced
-
I don't think this is brought up yet. At Shabondy Island, when Duval showed Sanji the list of slaves to be auctioned, wasn't there a term that writes, "Snake-neck people"? Could it be that the Gorgon Sisters are one of those snake-neck people that was mentioned?
