Both the Rurouni Kenshin Anime and Manga. The Anime's new content was lame. Enishi was lame. It should've just ended after Shishio. Or after a new arc.
Underwhelming or rushed endings

Anything by Urasawa.

Hellsing anime and the claymore anime.
-
Gash Bell's anime ending was rushed, because they tried to end the longest arc of the series squashing 5 volumes of content into 10 episodes, so the 10 or so remaining conflicts had filler endings and then the story didn't come to an end, nobody became king. It's still pretty good though.
The manga though was ended really well.
A lot of animes ended quickly because they weren't popular enough to maintain sponsership. And then there are ones that had other reasons, like the anime caught up to the manga. D. Gray-Man comes to mind, but that may still yet have OVAs.

Double Arts. REALLY super idea, non-super you-have-to-end-it end thx to those million idiots.
That ending makes me want to punch people in the face. That comic was really good and different, I don't see what was unappealing about it…. :/
I really think she should've took that story elsewhere and finished it.

Now I haven't watched as much anime as the rest of you guys, but the one anime whose ending felt a tiny bit rushed. Not too rushed, but just a little, was .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. The thing is, it tried to hard to end like .hack//SIGN, which was meant to end on a note to continue with the PS2 games. //Twilight didn't have a follow-up game to it, so the ending did feel a little too rushed for me.
Yes… I am a .hack// fan, so sue me.

Death Note's Anime ending was BS. they left out too much of Light's fear and guilt. I loved this series in both forms but…they coudl've extended the last scene..it didn't come close to the manga.

I should probably be 'over' it by now, but the ending of JJBA (Stone Ocean) still has me thinking "erm, that was…different". I'm guessing Araki wanted to 'go out with a BANG', but that was biblical (Not trying to reveal any spoilers here). I don't know if this qualifies though, but I was left with so many questions (If you've read it you'd understand).
Is'nt an ending supposed to tie up all the loose ends? wheres the Epilogue?Below is my interpretation of what happened.
! From what I understand Father Pucci gained the ability to speed time, and uses it to bring the end of the universe while keeping living beings intact, everything returns 'full cycle' exactly how it was before, but since mankind has 'experienced' everything already fate is now in control-everything is destined to happen again. Father Pucci's ideal world has come into existence. He has one obstacle to overcome however, Emporio. He and Emporio have a battle for the sake of the universe, Emporio wins, then everything returns to how it was-but slightly different(everyones' alive but with different names, etc), and only Emporio knows what happened.
! So, what i'm wondering is "does that mean the Stone Masks, Pillar warriors, Dio and the Joestars battles, etc never happened?" "Is everyone 'dead in spirit?', but 'ressurected' slightly differently?" If we assume Emporio represents the original timeline, and nobody recognises him. Or maybe they did happen the same, but time just returned to before the Stone Ocean Arc. Then the question is "was that all just a waste of time?!" since everything that happened has been essentially 'lost' to 'history'. BUT, since Emporio is still alive…arrgh-you know what? fuck it -
well i found Double Arts, and MxO as being gay endings.
Though of course both got canceled so they had to rush a quick job.
Otherwise most of the other manga I have read tend to be still ongoing.

Hikaru no Go, the manga. Hands down.
And Death Note, the anime. They made a pretty much perfect adaptation, they even left out some bullshit part which only dragged down the story slowing it (in the manga). Then they fucked up the last episode royally. Good job…

Mx0 too damn short >_<.
-
Elfen Lied (manga) underwhelming.

16 Cowboy Bebops
Slam Dunk. An excellent series marred by quite possibly the most anti-climactic way to end a story. Yay we beat the best team in the country let's pose for a picture oh yeah Sakuragi broke his back and we were decimated in the next round and I'm gonna tell all of this in like two pages hope you're satisfied fans!!
I totally agree, but the creator was sorta forced to finish the series earlier than he hoped because of how much he hated the work situation or something. Details are reaaally shady about what happened, but he definitely had creative differences with someone @ Jump and decided to just end the series.

Once again, I'm surprised no one said the Flame of Recca anime.
That and Tokyo Underground.
I liked Slam Dunk ending; it basically said no one is perfect, even the Genius, Sakuragi Hanamichi. But if you really think about it, people will complain about ES21 if they end like Slam Dunk.
-
Priest. I suppose it doesn't count because it just drops off the face of the earth after volume 16.
-
I LIKED the SD ending a lot, I just felt like it was rushed and could've been so much more if Inoue-sensei had gotten to end it the way he wanted. For a rushed ending, it's DAMN good.
I really wanted to see thing resolved between Hanamichi and Rukawa more naturally and deeper than they did in the final game. Also I DEFINITELY wanted and ending to the love triangle and there just wasn't room for all that.
-
don't know if it's been said yet, but Hellsing TV.
Just GOT, NAKED VAMPIRE!! WHY?!?! -
You say that like it's a bad thing.

^If the vampire were a girl it'd be a good thing.
