you should try and read some more manga. there is worse out there. I think disgrace is a pretty harsh word. He's quite accomplished for making a simple ninja story IMO. Even though I love Oda's art for it's original style, Kishimoto's style is pretty good as well. Because they draw some style I've never seen before so well, I have no choice but to give them their props even when they're on their B game.
And also you should check out the SJ manga with the horse back rider that's hideous (no clue what it's called, don't care either), but his art looks like absolute shit and it was highly popular.
