As much as it pains me to agree with you, I just cannot imagine Franky as being anything but grating if you're with him for longer than 30 minutes at a stretch.
Brooke, gets a bit of a pass because he's been stranded so long, of course his social skills will wane, and surely he's in a "Wow! Living again!" mode. Franky has less excuse.
What I don't like about One Piece?
Pell not dying and Diable Jambe. I like Sanji but that move just looks plain ridiculous and over-the-top for me, even on One Piece terms. >.< I dunno why…
I have a lot of minor complaints, but the one that I was flamed the most for (have no idea why) was me HATING the Enies Lobby fights with the exception of Luffy's and Franky's. I thought all of the others were bull (especially Zoro vs. Kaku) and it made it seem like the strawhats overpowered their opponent without trying. Here's the "fight" formula.
1st chapter: zOMG mysterious power shown by opponent. Start comedic scenes
2nd chapter: More comedic scenes and strawhat seems to lose but…what's this?
3rd chapter: Pulls out powerup and wins without trying.
It happened in all of the fights. The only one who seemingly lost was Luffy (which everyone here was going on about how he "OWNED" Lucci. Yeah fucking right. He could barely move and passed out after knocking out Lucci). Usopp should have fought, and Kaku should not have done weird Giraffe crap. Also, how come Kalifa and Kaku used their DFs perfectly even though they only had them for a half hour?
Well...that was my biggest one, but there are more things I have issues with. I don't mind most of them anymore, but still, I think that those situations could have been better.

The length One Piece was going after Alabasta
Skypiea and Enies Lobby WERE TOO DAMN LONG! Seriously Toei… If you want Summary movies, it's those two that need it the most. Thank GOD that the length issue doesn't seem to be too much of a problem now, considering Thriller Bark was a reasonable length (Can't say the same for the Anime, since they are putting too many flash backs, but hey, at least it isn't as annoying as Naruto) and Duval was pretty damn short.

Toilet Humor
I noticed that One Piece has started to get a bit more in the toilet humor (Luffy's poop question for Brook and Caimie, and the Fart Scene in Thriller Bark), which I hope doesn't become more constant... I know One Piece is for kids, but I like it because Teenagers and Adults could also enjoy it... No more toilet humor... Please Oda? (Doubt he can see my post, but whatever...)
Scene Ruining Sound Effects
Doesn't happen a lot, but there are some sound effects that just don't fit too well with the scenes (Minor examples being the AIRPLANE Pell and DBZ Enel). One HUGE Example of this is the latest Episode of One Piece... I've waited for the Oz ressurection scene for a while, to see if they would show the Oz I was hoping to see brought to life, but they have this BOING sound effect instead of a heartbeat, which kind of made me loose the feel of that scene I had when I first read it... I know I seem a bit picky when talking about sound effects, and I know One Piece isn't supposed to sound 100% realistic, but sometimes I just feel they could've used better sounds...

I don't mind Franky's lack of pants most of the time, but… darn it, he should at least wear something in the 9th movie. I mean, for goodness' sake, the guy is wearing a coat with speedoes! Luffy too, whenever he gets cold, he throws a coat over his arms and go out in the snow wearing shorts. I know they only showed a cold land in Chopper's arc (and that filler thing, but i didn't watch that yet), but it's not possible that someone can live without ever wearing pants. And I don't think Franky has ever even heard of pants….

Franky wore pants in his Flashback! He's done with them and will never wear some again, get used to it.
Just a few quibbles on the series
-a few arcs were a bit long in the tooth
-I don't quite care for the strong emphasis on fighting. They're done quite well regardless with the uniqueness of Devil Fruit powers eventally drawing me in, but I'm much more interested in the adventuring and fun-loving aspect of the series.
-Old favorites like Buggy and Smoker haven't returned since Skypeia
-Nami's, er, 'developed' proportions. I liked her better when she was more Luffy's age.
-Some scenes depicting the victimization of Robin and Nami in recent arcs. While their captors eventually got their just desserts. Robin's abuse seemed too brutal for too long, and Nami getting assaulted and being at the mercy of Absolom just made me feel dirty. I'd prefer if she did more during that arc that become a sex object. Thankfully, some of the more lighthearted moments of the latter, such as his inability to kiss her during the wedding cerimony, as well as a good assertion of her independence in parts helped it become more tolerable.
Other than that, I have a lot of love for the series and it's characters. I don't think I could dislike the series for becoming too goofy since that's what I grew to like about it.
When I say that I want to see more pillaging, I want to see helpless people running for their lives and screaming for mercy. I want ugly, hirsute, gap-toothed corsairs cutting down the weak and defenseless. I want bodies laying on the ground, in pools of blood, for everyone to speculate over whether or not they'll live. I want to see six pages of chaos and bloodshed, before something happens to resolve the conflict. Is that too much to ask?

Yes, it is. I always liked One Piece because it worked without much of the bloodshed. There is blood when it's logical, when somebody get's a serious punch in the face, but there aren't twenty thousand litres of blood if somebody get's sliced with a sword for example.
And the evil guys also work totally for me, even though they don't massacre entire villages.
I love Brook's skull jokes, especially how only he and Luffy find them funny! It's hilarious. But I had the whole farting thing. That can stop.
I also though the Enies Lobby fights were way too staged for the most part. But no everyone lost their fights like someone mentioned earlier. Nami originally went up against Kumadori and couldn't win. Same with Sanji and Califa. A
And AGREED. I thought it was some harsh bullshit that Kaku and Califa had such a handle on their fruits right after gaining their powers. That's a bunch of shit. I think their were a few jokes with Kaku screwing up, but Califa had that shit down and knew exactly what she could do with it, which was ridiculous.
Franky not having pants is fine with me. It's Franky, for christ sakes.
One thing I don't like is how Luffy seems like he's getting less intelligent. Ever since the beginning of Thriller Bark, he seems like he's even more childish, and is surprised so bewildered and astonished with everything. More than normal. It's starting to get to me.

The only think I didn't like was Absolsam… Everything else is fine to me.

I don't think Kalifa was literally pierced by the lightning. I think the current went through her body and was dragged out the other side by the other lightning cloud (like how static electricity jumps from a door knob to your hand).
Also, I think the reason why they mastered their DF's so fast is because Oda wanted emphasise how powerful and skilled CP9 was. He wanted to say "They're so powerful they can master a Devil fruit in no time at all". However, I agree with Eerie when he says that that's a little bit to un-realistic (even for One Piece). That still doesn't change my opinion of the CP9 arc, though (that it's the best arc in One Piece so far and had some of the most epic fights).

I agree that Luffy does seem to have been dumbed down since his introduction. Look at how he convinced Zoro to join him as a pirate, or the way he defused Nami's resentment of his friendship just prior to going off to fight Arlong. Lately, he just doesn't seem as crafty; maybe something later in the story will change this trend. I sure hope so.

Except that the speedo plan wasn't the deciding factor- it only served to get Franky to the dock. Even Robin's "treasure-hunt" didn't coerce him into joining; he finally agreed only after Iceburg encouraged him to sail off on the "ship of dreams" he had always wanted to build.
Still, to formulate such a plan, involve the Franky Family in its execution, and position the crew along the route to the dock, in such a short amount of time, does show alot of ingenuity. Perhaps I've been too hasty in my judgement.
It's more his demeanor than anything.. I mean, he's always been goofy and funny, but it's been more intense lately. I wish I could think of some really specific examples, but it's just been the overall feeling. Just with their arrival at Thriller back, and even more so with the whole Duval arc and going to Shabondy. If this little side convo continues, I might be forced to go look and find some examples. :P

I think you're right. Consider his reaction to Chopper's 'seven stages of transformation'; he hadn't seen Dalton transform, so he probably didn't even know about the Zoan Class of Devil Fruits. New things do tend to register unduly with him.

Am I the only one really pissed of the way Eneru got "beated".I mean it was clearly shown in a scene,where he fought one of the Shandian warriors,that he can avoid physical attacks by turning into lightning.But when he fought Luffy,he mysteriously lost this ability.Have I missed something?!?Not to mention that the whole arc was long and kinda sucked.
