Kaboom - Ok Wow, I seriously DON'T believe it now. That second image is far worse than the first one.
The point was that the makeup guy made it himself. That's a screencap off of his website.
@Lobster:
Do you think that the general public will like the movie more because they are being unfaithful to the original? In things that they could care less about? Like hair color, names, or basic designs?
The audience probably could care less if per say, the stadium had a roof, or didn't have a roof. The only ones who will care are the actual fans of the series.
Exactly my point. The audience will see a nice-looking, high-budget action film, with a goofy guy in gi as the hero, a dark, sinisterly-dressed demon-alien as the villain, and a couple other guys and hot chicks as backup on either side. Bonus points if they know [a]anything DragonBall. But this WILL draw people in a LOT more than some wacky little adventure starring a 12-year-old boy with a monkey tail, a blue-haired teenage girl, a talking pig, and a desert bandit with a talking, flying cat all going up against some blue, oddly-dressed midget troll with delusions of grandeur.
You get my point? What aesthetic changes they're making are for the purpose of making it a better movie overall, and appealing to that wider audience. If they followed the manga spot-on, the ONLY people who would likely want to see it are DragonBall fans, and that's a VERY small percentage of the moviegoing population.
