Can't post any pictures since I'm way old school and have no digital camera/scanner. But the pages themselves are good quality. Nice and thick, not like the Shonen Jump pages.
And I dunno which chapters specifically are color chapters, but I flipped through again and Chapter 1 is the only chapter with color pages. I haven't read all of it so I can't tell if any other chapters have been gray scaled thus far.

I think in the first 3 volumes of Kenshin, the only chapter that has color pages is the first one. Some have color covers however.

You know, the VIZ headquarters is in San Francisco. Since you live in California, go knock on their door and tell them to hurry up. One volume a month is what I say.
Like I said, not going to happen. Viz has their plans and at the time One Piece does not appear to be on the agenda.

And Viz really needs to get on the ball with these One Piece releases. They're barely done with Alabasta! I'd like it if they'd at least catch up to the end of Skypiea before 2010. At this rate…. not very likely.

Well, I can say, from my point of view, that I don't care to spend twenty something dollars to get a magazine full of series that I don't care for just to read 3-4 chapters of a series that I do. I'd much rather spend nine dollars every couple months for ten chapters with high-quality artwork and extra stuff like author questions, sketches, etc.
While I doubt that Viz will do this anytime soon, especially with them starting a big story arc, I think the ideal situation would be to skip ahead in the magazine to the Davy Back Fight, while releasing the volumes in between bi-monthly. If they can do that with Yugioh, I don't see why they couldn't do that with any of their other series.

Like Crossword said a nice idea on paper but pointless as I enjoy collecting the graphic novels. I have two bookshelves filled with manga volumes with One Piece always at the front on the top row. I want to have the entire series in English filling up that row and more if needs be. And as Crossword pointed out, there's so many good extras that go with it. The Shonen Jump book on the other hand doesn't have the same level of collectors value to me, especally when they're whoring out series that I think are okay but over hyped and overlooking under hyped gems. Additionally it costs me around four to five pounds to get each issue of ASJ when all I really want is the One Piece chapters and around three to four pounds for the actual volume. I'd end up wasting a good ten pounds to read chapters I plan to get in a volume x months later. I'm a patient man and don't mind having to wait three to six months to get the chapters in the volumes.
HOWEVER like others I do hope they'd speed the series up at some point soon. I want to complete my collection of "English One Piece volumes" sooner rather than later.
Well sheesh guy's, I really don't know what to tell you considering Viz is entitled to hype whichever title they want and if that means not giving much attention to a series as it could (One Piece get's fairly good treatment and will probably continue to do so) then so be it. Bleach and Naruto get on the charts, One Piece as I recollect does not. At least the Big Three of JUMP are in the same magazine and get good attention.

I realise I'm in the minority when it comes to my opinion. I know Viz isn't going to drop what it's doing to cater to my tastes as there's no real profit in doing so. However I'm not going to let it bother me. I'll continue to support the series I like and ignore the ones I couldn't care for.
About that ad for the Alabasta movie, I've seen it in a few other magazines and they did in fact edit Nami's outfit. It's kinda weird that they'd do that especially after I saw it right next to a page about the Witchblade anime.

Really glad I'm not subscribed anymore. Though I am thankful for Shounen Jump in that it's how I got into One Piece. Ah, the days of Zoro … Damn, those first magazines with his real name are kind of like collectibles now, huh? But not really.

I honestly think it's time I bombarded the ASJ editorial department with letters, because they're obviously under the impression that their readers don't have the gray matter to figure out Franky (God forbid they mention his background or relevance to the crew) is CANON MATERIAL. Or maybe they're morons and haven't figured it out themselves. I dunno. I just thank christ they didn't attempt to half-ass-edly explain away The Sunny or the Future villains or attacks we have yet to see. FUNimation goes the extra mile for it's fans; why the hell can't VIZ?

Its just a preview for a new manga which will later be put into volume form. And yes, it is in Alabasta.
Just thought I'd say this before Death-T calls you an asshole or something.
Its sort of sad that the SJ publishers screwed everything up but at least with their slight acknowledgement and showing of stuff such as the new Climatact, Kabuto and the Gear moves, people can figure out on their own that this comes way later. (and that Franky…is more than just an island inhabitant)
Especially since Usopp mentions Enies Lobby when talking about rebuilding Nami's Climatact.
And when this manga closes out, and Luffy's arm stretches back to deliver that last punch, I wanna feel the crunch of the dream coming true.

They didn't change any of those names. Pola should be Paula though. That's the only thing SJ got wrong(Yes, they really translated it as Pola).
