haha WTF?
"Edit 1: The more damage done to Lucario, the Stronger his moves!"

Kind of seems like Bide to me.
Olimar and R.O.B. among the better characters in the game? Hell yeah.
Most of the characters I'm interested in playing as seem balanced enough, which is pretty cool for me.
edit: aha, according to them Squirtle is the best out of PT's characters
Glad to see Pikachu's still pretty strong.
Geg is the Pikafoo'
When I played today, I saw an Assist Trophy I'm not sure I'd heard being talked about before. It was like a large spinning platform with a circle in the middle, no face or anything, just a slow-spinning platform (might have been blue, might have been yellow, can't remember) floating for a while. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I got it during an event match, so it's possible that it might just be a byproduct of that event match, so I don't know.
Unlocked Luigi, Falco, and Captain Falcon today, so I figure I'll just name some things about the game that I've noticed as I've been playing:
Keep in mind that this is coming from a largely casual player, so this won't mean alot to the competitive types here, but I figured people might want to know some about items and stuff since we haven't heard too much about those.
have you got to try the new special melee?
low grav? bunny hoods?

I think that's Kuririn or whatever, y'know that helicopter-duck game. I think I remember seeing it as an AT.
While I never really cared about tiers, I'm glad Ness is actually decent now. Sure, I liked the kid in Melee, but he was clearly outmatched by a ton of people. Same goes for Zelda, thank god Shiek doesn't completely overshadow her.
I believe I shall main Ike, Ness and Pogeymanz Trainer (mostly Ivysaur tho).

Oh man, no! We honestly haven't had all that much time to play these last two days, with school and all, so we've been pressd just to do regular Melee and Subspace and 100-man Melee and event matches, so I actually completely forgot about this. I'll definitely have to do this tomorrow, we'll have lots of free time then.
@Komrade:

Oh, okay, cool. We haven't actually played Classic mode yet, so I've yet to see the end credits with all the ATs, so I didn't know.
The person who did the analysis for all the characters is a fag, I swear. No Kirby. =(
Yeah, the ship from Kururin was in the data rip.
And yeah, like Gohn said these are still pretty early impressions.
"I am pleased to announce that Pikachu is awesome. Rejoice!"
Is everything I looked up for.
I'm getting excited about Olimar again. Running away is what I do best, DoTs own.
I'm glad that all the Pokemon Trainer's pokemon are all at least viable as I really want to get good with all 3 of them.
Hello, all. I'm not a frequent poster, but I needed a place to discuss Smash Bros. Brawl away from all the incessant whining and bawwing over at other forums. (Looking at you Smashboards and Gamefaqs)
Anywho, I'm a long-time competitive Smasher who has recently grown tired of all of the idiots on both sides of the competitive/casual arguments and unfounded hating on a game that hasn't even been released in the US yet.
I'm glad to see that there is a group of like-minded people who are just excited to PLAY THE FUCKING GAME and don't care about the roster, or whatever stupid-ass advanced techniques are in/out of the game.
So yeah, Smash and all that, eh, ladies and gents?
Dedede sounds like he'll be a monster. He's one of the characters I want to try the most, and it looks like he'll be fun to play as.
Though seeing what was written about Mario sucks since he's the main character that I use, but i know this is only the beginning and things will likely change, not just for Mario but for most of the others.
Just to clear up a bit of confusion on my part-
Is "priority" the thing where, if two people attack each other, one attack goes through the clash and hits successfully? As in, that move has "higher priority."

Mario was the all-rounder since the dawn of time. His "stats" float at about 5/6 for whatever was graded. This only gives me more passion to play as the Green Machine himself. XD

Yeah. WTF was that about? He gave the opinion of everyone EXCEPT Kirby? Watta rip-off.
Glad to see Dedede is good, though.

For the most part.
The easiest way to think of it is when moves like Ryu's Shoryuken stuffs the fuck out of whatever air attack you just did thanks to its great priority [which can be determined by a bunch of different factors like invincibility frames and hitbox].

Oh trust me I know that Mario has always been the standard. I never expected him to be the "best" at any one thing. It won't stop me from using him and winning matches, you can go ahead and use your Luigi.
Either way, I'll be trying to get use out of the FLUDD since in that analysis it didn't shine so well.
Here's some pretty interesting 1v1 matches:

Ignoring the topic title, most of the players are pretty decent, but the real stand outs to me are the Pit, Luigi, and Snake players. Oh, the Zelda and Bowser players don't look half bad either, but the Pit and Snake guys are freakin' nuts with their strategies and mindgames.
Pit looks sooooo broken right now…

What's wrong with the topic title?
I won't even try to predict who I will main in the games, When I first played 64 I tired to main Link, Too slow, DK even slower, Pikachu not enough power, Yoshi joke on me, then for a While I controled relatively well mario and Kirby, recently I got very good with ness, and Jiggly, while been using more casualy kirby and Fox.
When I got to play melee I tried to reuse my mains in the moment… Kirby and Ness.. It was painful, then tried to get used to mewtwo, not enough power, didn't die horrible deaths with bowser, felt "almost there" with marth. When I setled in the game I fell in love with Roy's "counter" (alwais got the timing down of 4 of 5 roomates, and 1 of 2 guest) and then tried to get used to his moves, with not much success, Then one day I tried them.. the Ice Climbers and I enjoyed them very much, as they grew on me because their "gimmick" more than just a move.
Now the predictions that I said that I wouldn't even try:
First the returning mains, try to get used to Ness, Jiggs and the IC, to find who has the "non sucky counter" if Ike, Marth or Lucario, to find the replacement for Roy.
Of the newcomers, I'll try the gimmicky ones first, as Pokemon Trainer, Olimar and Snake, then I have the need to try Zero Suit Samus, for the Paralizing shot :D.
Diddy, Pit and Lucario seem to suit me more than the others, but I'll test around most of the cast, but I have my reservations on trying Falco, Link, Toon Link, DK and Ganondorf, they didn't felt right in the past, to me.
I feel bad because I never really think I "maimed" anyone in Melee. I'd msotly play all around, although some characters (like Kirby and Falco) I used more then others.

The same could be applied for myself, as I just picked whoever I felt like I wanted to play as to spare the moment. Just switch out Kirby and Falco for Luigi and Fox and you had who I played more than the rest of the cast sans the Melee times.
Just curious:
How many of you use the C-stick?

I like that faggot who has that quote from the Bible talking about how Christ is strengthening him while simultaneously saying that he's the best Bowser player.

It's called "Professional" Brawl Tournament. Which is an oxymoron, because no one can be "pro" at a game that's only been out in Japan for about a week.
However, all involved are pretty good Melee players, so of course, certain basic fighting skills(spacing, timing, set-ups) are going to transfer over, but I was really impressed at how quickly the guys playing the newcomers adapted and came up with basically on-the-spot strategies and fighting styles.

I don't.
I played some Melee earlier, to try to try jumping with the button out, as well as play around with Ness a bit to be "ready" for Lucas (even though Lucas is obviously worlds different).
I can see why so many people prefer the button, but I'm still trying to get the hang of it. I still instinctively use the stick in some parts, and it's still kind of awkward shifting my fingers from the jump buttons to the attack ones.

Which was intentional. I don't see what's bad about that.
Um. I use the C-stick. You get a split second quicker response than a directional + A smash.
I think the "tap" and "tilt" distinction is probably what pissed me off the most and prevented me from really getting in Smash for the longest time.
I tend to switch back and forth between C-stick and direction + A.
@Special:

Oh, I wasn't implying that. It's just that I'm used to dealing with people who aren't so quick-on-the-draw mentally and tend to bust out knee-jerk reactions at things like that even though it should be fairly obvious to anyone that the topic title is a joke.
At any rate, those vids are really good. They have me really excited to play some Brawl knowing that there will never be a lack of challenging opponents to play.

Geeze, I still remember when I was stuck with using it because the only Gamecube I found was one with crappy Controllers made by a Chinese Company.
@Cyringohn:
You'll need to learn to use them all equally well.
Yeah, I know, but Ivysaur's the best part of it.
My friend got a bootleg playstation that was made in mexico called the "PolyStation".
It came with a cd of very old video games.
I usually play with Ness sometimes but Donkey Kong has been getting fun to use and if I could find my memory card I would use Doctor Mario.
Can't wait to play Brawl

Polystation 3 review:
I want to kill that guy.
His voice is frustating.
Nobody is going to laugh at you for using the C-stick.
If they do, punch them.
I was watching some vids and I noticed something strange…
Pause at 4:11 (when Ness uses his bat). Snake's a mile away, but it looks like the bat hit a sheild. Anyone have an explanation?
I just realized that the Mother characters' victory song is now Mother Earth (the title track from Mother 1)
awesome. I like it much more than the 8 Melodies one.

You can hit Snake's mines.
That's a pretty stylin' shirt Ness has there. What's that on the front, the Sound Stone?
WTF, Ness' flash got raped
My love for Luigi's Mansion grows. Imma play that right now in fact.
Ness hit the House since its destroyable and the Mine is behind him. He hit the house which than later crumbled.
Oh, hah, I can't believe I didn't notice that.
