! Holy shit am I glad I got back into the show! These flashforwards to fucking brilliant! I hope we're looking at a part of the season revolving around the characters getting back to the island after leaving it; these "Oceanic 6".
! On another note, we know of 3 of that 6. Any speculation on the other 3? I'm going with Sawyer, Sun, and Locke.
LOST Season 4 *Spoilers Abound!*
-
-
This was actually pretty quiet for a Lost premiere, but the fact that there is actually a show to watch again after so long overrode the underwhelming nature of the episode.
-
It's morning, 7AM in Germany… For starters I hoped for a torrent which would surface around 5AM, as in all the years before. But nothing. Well.... Could anybody please help me?! ;___; Somebody found something, yet?
EDIT: Oh well, now I've found something... But I'll have to go to university for another 4 hours... It will be the a very long 4-hours-wait for me...
-
fucking great. There are millions of people on youtube.and,of course, the only ones who uploads the episode does it with crap quality and only Part 1 of "5"(!!!).
Is it so much to ask for to NOT see "Promo's",to NOT see "Sneak peaks" and to NOT see "Trailer's" BUT THE DAMN THING ITSELF?!!!
-
takes drag on cig
Was it good for you too?
Not gonna hold back spoilers since it already aired. If you haven't seen it just avoid reading this.
Yeah I agree that in comparison to season premiers of Lost, this was hands down the weakest. But I mean, a season premier of Lost to this point meant something better than an entire season of certain other serial drama so, no huge loss.
Starting out with Hurley was a great choice. They have not lost their touch one bit as my impression of his experiences changed throughout the episode. First off I knew it was him from the moment the car was on screen because the Season 3 DVD's just came out (rather are coming out) over here and I just saw Tricia Tanaka is Dead not a weak ago. So immediately I thought, uh oh, Jack's on drugs, Hurley went from seeing Dave to being batshit insane. That progressed to, "Oh, he's running from someone. Hmmm, a surviving member that shouldn't have survived?" And finally, well, we find out the awesome truth and let me say I just…maybe I'm naive but I wasn't ready for that and when it hit I just…tissue box and a half.
Ultimately it had everything that makes LOST premier amazing, just in substantially lower doses which while sad, is just nice to frigging have at the very least.
Hey, anybody notice the 'holy shit' pace of the episodes now? Not that I ever minded LOST's methodical pace one bit, but when everyone joined up at the cockpit like that I was like, whoah, that was unusually fast for this show.
What I didn't like, the dicking around with Hurley seeing shit again. Especially the 'lawyer' who he may or may not have met with (wonder if the nurse meant someone else). We played the Dave game once. It was fun (even though I called it early on) and we moved past it. I don't wanna see that shit happening again, so this 'did he didn't he see it' stuff is pretty annoying to me personally.
Nice bringing in the cabin. If that happened to me I'd have shit myself on the spot and melted into the floorboards.
Silly ooc moment: Kate giving her real name to a man on a radio? Uh hello? Unless we're supposed to believe she actually got over her running thing.
Man it's good to have it back. These next 8 weeks can't POSSIBLY go slow enough.
-
you couldnt youtube it,I wonder?
-
It also makes me wonder what exactly happened to Jack to make him become a depressed alcoholic. He seemed completely satisfied with getting off the island. Maybe it was something Hurley tried to tell him when he visited him in the mental hospital.
-
So-would anyone here be kind enough to youtube the episode?
Its got to be something I cans embed.
but one thing bugs me-We can get 13 pages of discusion on just a wery low quality OP cover over a few hours, but we cant get even to double digit page numbers in a thread if a what,a year?
If you want I can PM you with an HQ AVI some 300 MB quality one.
Anyway watched the first ep., and I have to agree with Greg, the premier scene was very weak heck the moment Jack said 'Damnit…' I knew it was someone who came back from the island. Still the ep. was great, they should really kill Ben already he's boring me to death with his whole de facto BS.
Still....the whole 'I'ma close my eyes then when I open them you'll be gone' thing had better have a good explanation when the series wraps up.I have a question BTW- What happened to Charlie at the radio room? I can't seem to remember it for some reason and I don't have the final eps. of Season 3 on my laptop ^_^;;;;
BTW, who do you think are the other 3? My only guesses so far are
! Sun and Jin probably went back, but I don't think Sawyer or Saeed went back
-
My guess is, there are still people alive there. Some are gonna die, yes, but just because 6 came back, doesn't mean others aren't alive on the island. I think it's all gonna turn out like Ben said, "Why do you wanna leave so badly?"
Now see….up until this point.... I would have said that Jack's actions would FUCK THE LIVING FUCK out of everything and they'd end up getting killed, maimed, etc. for a variety of reasons with the newcomers and their wanting to leave.
BUT
Hurley said probably the most goddamn interesting line in the whole episode when he uttered:
"Sorry….I'm sorry I went with Locke."
That's a fuckin' mountain-mover there. What the SHIT is up with that? I can't wrap my brain around that one. It just totally destroys anything I could have thought up.
Calling it now, more than 6 got off. And they know it.
-
^IF anything I think this season will focus on what happened up until they left the island, and the season finishes with Jack and co. deciding to return to the island.
-
IF anything I think this season will focus on what happened up until they left the island, and the season finishes with Jack and co. deciding to return to the island.
Just thinking about that myself. But then I thought…see...if they do that, then...they lose the jungle theme completely. Which, okay, while I'd still watch the show, it'd be a huge turnaround and I don't think a lot of people would be down with it.
If they wrap up events on the island this season as we know it (and by season I mean the full 16 episodes, not the abbreviated season we're getting) they'll then focus to the survivors on the island (who we're now supposed to assume are dead) including individuals who have been there before the crash. How they'll fit in the people on mainland? I dunno.
Anyway, I thought this up long ago way before we even knew what was in the hatch but slowly things seem to be heading in that direction. I believe Adam and Eve are
! Jack and Kate. With time travel ever so slowly being worked into the series as a real possibility, I'm gonna have to guess it's their own bodies that relates to them 'going back'.
-
Hmmm….
Fuck anything even mildly negative I had to say about the episode.
http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Image:THEY_NEED_YOU.jpg
So that was him too huh? Makes sense now. Nice. I like it. A lot.An image from the cabin before being altered for airing. MAY not want to see it.
http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Image:Cap08.jpgedit:
Ah what the hell. While I'm making crazy-ass predictions I'll throw this out there on the Oceanic Six.
! Kate isn't one of them. No one knows she's a survivor.
-
So, Jack probably gets what Hurley was saying about going back and getting the rest of the survivors off the island. That's probably why he became depressed later on after getting rescued.
-
Hmmm….
An image from the cabin before being altered for airing. MAY not want to see it.
http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Image:Cap08.jpg! I called it, dammit!! You remember? The season 4-promo-trailer? I said, it really looks like Christian AND Jacobs cabin!! DAMMIT, I'm some kind of eagle-eye g
And, well. Great episode. Like you already said before, not an mind-flashing kind of premiere, but hey it's LOST! It's finally back, and still haven't even lost a part of it's edge. Still feels the same. ^^
Oceanic 6… Hm, I'm also with Sun and Jin aaaand... Sawyer. And well, your theory, Greg, about Kate and stuff... Good idea. Sounds not too far fetched, either. ^^
Hurleys sentence, 'bout being sorry... It totally fucked up with all my predictions. At first, in retrospect of the season-3-finale I thought "Oh, well Jackyboy, you should've better been with Locke. You surely wouldn't be so fucked up, in the end."
But NOW it seems, Locke's "way" was the... wrong one...? Oh guys, It's just such a great show, and right now I CANNOT make any more predictions. Let's see, how it will turn out, during the rest of the season. -
@Freeman-12:

Ive got a windows 98,plus flash player problems.
Ive read the summary.Strangely enough, wikipedia only has Jacob's cabin as "a mysterious cabin" and Jacob as "someone siting in a chair".I could get why their acting safe with Jacob, but with a cabin already stated to be his.
The episode seems-well,okay,but nothing bizzare like when we FIRST saw Jacob.
-
Hurleys sentence, 'bout being sorry… It totally fucked up with all my predictions. At first, in retrospect of the season-3-finale I thought "Oh, well Jackyboy, you should've better been with Locke. You surely wouldn't be so fucked up, in the end."
Yeah, that blew me away. It was a tiny thro-away line, but in terms of what I thought was going on it was a game changer.
I'm still not going to say Locke chose the 'wrong' path persay, I wonder if the lack of able bodies on Jack's side led to something undesirable. We'll see! Man it's good to have LOST back.
-
God, I can't believe on the waiting is over!
It feels so weird to have LOST back. I was having apprehentions about the flashforwards before the new series started but it all went away two minutes into this episode. Already so many new talking points its brought up. Can't wait to see this series unfold. -
"Confirmed Dead"
Will it be someone ON THE ISLAND,or afterwards, you think?
and the Ultimate question,of course-WHY DOES THE STATUE HAVE FOUR TOES?
-
Randy-FREAKING-NATIONS
Pic
!
-
^I don't get it.
Man I'm gonna try and avoid making too many speculations about this season, but from what I read, this season will be 16 eps. only and as such will air up til May right? -
I don't get it.
It's Randy! Hurley's old boss at the chicken joint who he then worked at the box factory where Locke was only to come back and work at Hurley's Mr. Cluck's which then got hit by the meteor!!!
BTW officially….it didn't happen in that order but since it happened the day before he left for Australia, unless he spent a FUCKLOAD of time in Australia, it doesn't work chronologically.
this season will be 16 eps
Wait….you didn't hear? Aw dude....I'm so sorry to have to be the one to break this to you....
Because of the writers' strike there are only 8 filmed episodes....
-
…................................................................
I need an atom bomb.
okay,so weve been waiting for a year for us to run out after 2 frickin months?
-
As sad as it is, it has been confirmed to be 8 episodes practically since the strike began.
-
Okay-so the fuckers have us wait for over a year to give EIGHT EPISODES?
I tell you,if the rest isnt finished with the speed of lightning, someones going to die.
seriously, itl take several months for it to come over here and get dubbed. And since ,well, they wont buy just 8 episodes, they wait till the others are done and THEN theyll start dealing and purchase and dub.And you know what that means-so Ill be seeing episode 1 in about 8-9 MONTHS.Happy day.
-
Wait….you didn't hear? Aw dude....I'm so sorry to have to be the one to break this to you....
Because of the writers' strike there are only 8 filmed episodes....
Well that sucks :/ Hope the DVD'll have the other 8 eps…..or they should air in the near future.
-
Hope the DVD'll have the other 8 eps…..or they should air in the near future.
Nah it's not that simple. See, before the writers went on strike, they only had 8 episodes for the season scripted. After that they shut down production completely. Not just LOST mind you, every TV show that has writers fully stopped production. Unless the strike ends soon and networks give a special exceptional 'go-ahead' to finish up the seasons, which I dunno, it would be a really super extraordinary circumstance, we will only have 8 episodes of LOST until February 2009.
-
then wed just go on and kill em.
seriously, cause those fuckers wanna get wages 20 times as high (I think LOST's writers realy cant say THEIR underpayed),I wont see episode one for another 9 months, cause the stations around here wont dub half a season?
Dont they KNOW this?Fricking hell,Im starting to LOOSE my respect for the people.
-
then wed just go on and kill em.
Dont they KNOW this?Fricking hell,Im starting to LOOSE my respect for the people. Are you going shitty-nuts?
The writers are not getting paid for all the internet-stuff, on which the producers etc. cut themselves some REAL slack. And well, here I'm TOTALLY on the writers-side, and imo the greedy, selfish producers could go to hell. And right now I'VE lost all the remaining respect there was left for YOU, dude. You should really think about what you are saying, 'cause you should be thankful even to see such great shows, on behalf of all the writers out there. If they weren't there at all you could watch bazillion types of "Heroes"-style-shows and even Heroes would look like a gift from god, aside from all the other crap…
-
and imo the greedy, selfish producers could go to hell.
Actually, in Losts' case, they're one in the same at least a few.
About the strike though. Seriously. They aren't starving on the street. Many of them lead high-class lives and they have friends in very high places.
BUT
I do think they should get paid for internet broadcasting. No question. It's their own work. Does that mean shorter seasons? More commercials? I mean one way or another there has to be something that gives and either way it usually ends up being on the consumer end. I'd gladly accept it. I abuse the shit out of media on the internet with downloads etc. and I wouldn't be shocked if one day there was a new twist on the consumer end as a result so I really have nothing to complain about.
I think they get plenty of money, but I'm not against giving them more because 'they already have money', just because I'm not wealthy, it doesn't mean other people don't have a right to be. They should get paid for their work.
How much? Weeeeeell, that's another issue entirely and not one I know enough about to comment on.
edit:
Good news?

they want things even the producers dont have. While I DO recognise that they should get more, this strike is just TOO MUCH.Too Long.seriously, they shouldve worked this out before and not take several milion people "hostage".

look on the bright side, now we get more reality shows.
-
that is not the bright side.
That is the dark,crimson,overhauled,shadowy,nighted,moon-eclipse side by the main road to hell. -
Everyone hold your breath and keep your fingers crossed.
It would appear a temporary agreement has been decided upon and if it is passed and voted on by the writers, it has been speculated that shows like LOST COULD restart and finish production before the end of the scheduled 2007-2008 television programming season. Keep your eyes on the headlines this week because that's when it seems it will be decided one way or the other.
-
if not,ill abduct them to my house in the hills and force them to write it down,by hook or by sledgehammer.
-
My loins sop with anticipation.

LOST 4.02 only hours away & the writer's strike finally over:
A deal has been struck between the major media companies and the Writers Guild of America to end the writers' strike, former Walt Disney chief executive Michael Eisner revealed on CNBC.
"It's over," Eisner said. "They made the deal, they shook hands on the deal. It's going on Saturday to the writers in general."
http://www.cnbc.com/id/23057002
I expect most networks will extend the TV season past sweeps into June, perhaps further to ensure most shows can wrap their seasons (some, if not most will probably get compressed)
Though to LOST's advantage they only have eight episodes left to kick out, with apparenty Ep. 9-13 scripts in the can, plus most of the crew & cast reside in Oahu, so I'd imagine getting production back into full swing won't be as trying as it might be for other shows that have to scramble to re-hire everyone that was laid off.
-
Good news.Guess I wont have to get those ropes and torture devices then.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah,bummer.
-
I freaking knew it!
! Naomi's crew was the one from that "Find 815" game!
-
when was that said?Or are you just speculating?
anyways, thing well learn more about the Statue,in conection to the "Temple" perhaps?
-
! And Ben is still a manipulative jackass even when he's tied up.
! Walt's weird powers know no limits.
! Oh, and out of all of the four, I freaking hate Miles! I know he's supposed to come across as an asshole. But, man.Edit: Excuse me while I pick my jaw off the ground.
! You should've heard the "What?!" I let out when the crew said they were on the island to kill Ben.
-
Very interesting episode!!
! The new characters are all somewhat interesting, outside of the girl it looks. The drunk pilot and Milo look the most interesting from the looks of it though. Ben is the reason they are there? Unbelievable!! What a twist!
-
haha, nice av, battle franky
anyway this season kicks ass
LOVED that ending
@Senshi:
! You should've heard the "What?!" I let out when the crew said they were on the island to kill Ben.
! when did they say they were there to kill them?
! i thought they just wanted him for something -
! I think they have a connection to the Hanso Foundation. Maybe they're on the island for Ben since they know about Dharma, and how he started "The Purge"
-
! I'm thinking Milo is the Dharma guy's son. He looks a lot like him at least, either way.
-
! It's already been confirmed that Naomi had some kind of connection to the Widmores. And we know that Widmore Insdustries and the Hanso Foundation were both involved with Dharma. So, it's possible that the four have something to do with the DI
-
@Senshi:
! I think they have a connection to the Hanso Foundation. Maybe they're on the island for Ben since they know about Dharma, and how he started "The Purge"
! but do they want him for anything more than to punish him or to get information? and why send such a weirdass team after ben?
! he's intelligent, he's manipulative, and he's resourceful, but as far as i know he's not some great psychic powerhouse that requires the specifics in the "carefully selected" team to aprehend
! oh, and that black guy creeps me out -
Aw yeeeeah! That fuckin' ruled.
-
I guess that answers the "where was all the mind-fucking season premiere material?"
IT WAS ALL IN THE SECOND EPISODE
-
what i wanna know is…
! from the girl's flashback, why the hell was there Dharma tags and a polar bear in the desert…
-
Since the episode already aired, guys, there's no need for spoilertags.
Great scene in the jungle with Miles/Jack, concerning "pointed guns"… LOL It was as hilarious as it was great. Nice move. ^^
I don't think the freighter people have something to do with Dharma... Or better rephrasing it: "They are themsevles not Dharma-people."
Why else would Charlotte search for the belt-tag-thingie right beside the polarbear-skelletton? To me it seamed more like she was tracing something back, or looking for clues.Just LOST at it's best.
