Anyways, this should be a good episode. Time to learn about the dials and such.
In future let's have someone different create the dub episode thread each week.
Share it around. =)
I forget…is this the episode where we hear "heso" for the first time?
Yes it is.
I just realized the voice I've always imagined for Konis. Sailor Moon herself from the dub. Hopefully Bailey does something similar to Serena for Konis.
Laura Bailey is more cut out for Chibiusa in my opinion. Luci Christian would be a better Sailor Moon.
But enough talk about Sailor Moon, we're getting a new episode of One Piece.
So, who wants to take bets on what "heso" is going to be called in the dub? I say it's gonna be called "navel".

Nah. Let Chigi Goku do it each time. S/He always get the episode up first so s/he deserves the honor.

To be honest I'd rather have Chibi do it, (s)he always updates the first post with the download link, which I find convenient. Though I guess if whoever posts every week does it, it won't matter.
Looking forward to the ep, etc etc.
Like I said…I really think Chibi should either be allowed to create this thread each week or be made an anime section mod. It's just convenient to have the link on page one, even tho I've only had to dl it once so far.
I also would like it if ChibiGoku was making the treads because it's more convenient to find the link in the first post then searching through 7+ pages to find it.
then there's people like me who just bookmarked the folder where Chibi uploads his stuff XD
In this episode we get to see hawt angel babes… or at least one hawt angel babe, and bikini Nami.
It's going to be one heck of an episode.
Well, if everyone's content with that, then it's fine. I had received a few suggestions (I won't say complaints), about allowing everyone a chance to do it.
But it doesn't really matter who does it, as long as the thread is made, right?
I don't mind chibigoku doing it. He's the one providing youtube links and all and it would just be easier if he was able to put all of them on the first post.
I nominate ChibiGoku for thread Czar.

So basically, said "suggestions" are from people who are the typical yahoos on YouTube who spot no comments on a video and like to comment with the typical "FIRST!" posts. :|
It's better ChibiGoku does it. He posts the links to preview clips and episodes in the very first post. It's far better that way than having the links lost in a sea of pages filled with comments.

and that's all they say and it was a video of yours that's been up for 3 months with NO comments and someone does that like they beat the rush or something and you're like "uh… gonna comment on my video?"
ChibiGoku for Skypeia King.
holy crap I'm sooo affraid they won't say 'Heso' xD I'll be on the edge of my seat anticipating the moment O_O yes…. xD I'm soo sad I'll have to wait many hours, but it'll be sooo worth it :D
I hope they don't use Heso, and they use a word that'll work.
If anything, I see them just skipping over the pun. There's absolutely no way one could translate it. They'll use "Heso" but obviously won't note that's also Japanese for bellybutton.
Am I the only one that had no idea what "Heso" meant when watching the subs? I don't remember there ever being a translation not about it. Imagine my suprise when I found out it meant bellybutton…

Yeah, I just found that out today. 5 minutes ago, even.
This is exactly like "Kampai". With that, I thought "Oh no, it can't mean cheers. 'Cause if it did, they'd just sub that. It must be some weird term I've never heard of."
But enough of my very intelligent complaining, I must spread my Conis hate.
Actually, if I recall correctly, they noted what heso means in the Japanese language when Usopp hears it being said by Conis.
Guess it depends which fansubs you watched the ep with. I can imagine Funi using 'navel' or just some other completely random word. Unfortunately I can also imagine a normal 'hello', and the characters just being surprised at Conis's hand motion (as she says "heso", in the original) instead of the actual greeting… hopefully that doesn't happen though...

I've never seen Skypeia animated. I just read scans around there. From what I can recall, no explanation.
Then again, these were the ones that shifted constantly between Cyandora/Shandora, Eneru/Enel/Ener and Calgara/Karugara.
EDIT: A thought occurred to me: They're angels, right? so, what if the greeting is something like "Halo!"
"Wait, did she just say-"
They could probably say naval that works out and is still two syllables he-so, na-val just a bit different how their said.
I'm hoping they use 'Heso' reguardless of weather they translate it or not, I'll be really peeved if they change it to 'Ha-lo' or 'Na-vel' or something other than those 2 words.
Oh well, It's not like I can change it if they don't say 'Heso', but hopefully they'll keep it ;3

Why would you be PO'ed over navel? It means the same thing as "heso". FUNimation better not use halo because it would ruin the whole joke.
I'm hoping for "Heso" too. I don't see why they couldn't use it and just drop the "Did she just say Belly button?" line It works solely as a "foreign greeting" like "Aloha". I also think of "Kupo" from Final Fantasy. Who cares if it means something in another language, the audience will still get the idea.
Much <3 for Conis
I'm kinda hopin' FUNi keeps it as heso.

My magic 8-ball says…"Ask again later". Fucking magic 8-ball!
I dunno what they're gonna do with that.
I'm thinkin' they'll change it to something else.
I have to agree. I'd rather it stay as Heso… It'd just be weird hearing them say anything else. Not that it wasn't just as weird in the Japanese version, but you get what I mean...
God, I just realized how early it is, and that I literally have 12 more hours until it airs here. XD
Well, I don't mind if they keep heso or not, but I just hope they don't turn it into something lame if they don't keep it. I don't mind Navel though.

You know speaking of the skypiea arc and fansubs I almost wish Funi did dub their series like Hong Kong subs if only because I'd love to hear Usopp say "We can't break through the hymen this way!"
But oh well I still love my more faithful to the original Funi dub.
Japanese puns don't carry over well because, well, they're in another language.
I really don't care what they use so long as it sounds weird and funny.
We don't know. I mean, it could say something else in the actual episode.
Remember that the first FUNi episode was called "Caught Log!" instead of "Caught Compass!".

Yeah. I wonder what dub-watchers who didn't know of the original names thought about that. I can't see it making sense to them. (Although, the title originally didn't make sense to me either, because I thought "Taken" meant that someone stole it, which didn't happen.)
Anyone mind explaining the joke? Because I still don't know how people yelling "Bellybutton!" is funny.

That's basically the joke. A whole race of people use "bellybutton" as greeting. It's just funny in a WTF sense. Which is why I personally don't really care what they change it to as it'll still hold the same humor even if it's heso, navel, or jimma-limma-ding-dong. :P
Enough about heso, I want to know the meaning of McKinley giving himself rabbit ears when he introducted himself.
Maybe the Skypieans are just a bunch of kinky people.
…There's a Sanji joke somewhere in there.
Sanji is into kinky cosplay?
Let's not get into this, please.
AAAAAAAAANYWAY, thonight's epiosde should be a good one, ya?

I have a theory on this. I think they aren't going to change any episode titles on the DVDs. That's why they aren't using "King" in any episode titles as well. That way they work on both TV and DVD (isn't it going to be Log Posse on the DVD?)
