The fact that it took TWO games to realize that was a mistake was a mistake within itself.
Three games, actually. And yeah, the solar sensor was just terrible. But, if you find a way around it, the games are really good.

Dragon ball Z budokai tenkaichi.
@Bee's:
I think I'm one of the few females in the universe who loathes the Kingdom Hearts series. I played the first one, and I didn't bother to finish it. I tried the second. I really did. I'm convinced Kingdom Hearts II is a subcontextual gay orgy.
You're not the only one.
The first game was actually decent since although it still was basically mash X; it flowed better in regards to the story. The second one…I only hope all those pretty boy characters from that one get hit by oncoming traffic.
The first one was fun since it was basically an adventure through all these nostalgic disney worlds looking for your friends.
Much simpler plot wise and enjoyable.
The 2nd one is where it became another final fantasy, featuring disney.
Adventure is replaced by a convoluted plot about shitty characters you have no emotional attachment to.(Or shouldn't have, anyways)
I just really don't think there was any need for a sequel. The first game felt like a pretty complete game on it's own, and in my mind, that's where it ended.
@Kidany:

I agree. That's probably why I was able to get to the tail end of the first one. But I don't think I could have ever taken II seriously, especially after my mature friends realized Xemnas can be re-arranged into 'man sex' which is the whole point of II, really. I admit I laughed when I first realized it myself.
I also hated those damn camera angles. I just think they'll keep trying to bleed the KH series like they do FF. The fangirls will spend the money so long as it looks pretty and sparkles and has lots of males with ambiguous sexuality.
Part of me is glad Walt Disney is not alive to see this.
I don't really like the Contra series, like at all.
Anytime I played them it just felt boring and tedious. I just didn't get the reason why it was liked so much.

Basically this is what I'm getting at. It was nice seeing all those Disney characters without having a bunch of hooded jackasses taking up space.

That would really be my main problem with the first one, that you couldn't control the camera. I just stayed away from corners, and it wouldn't really be a problem.
I'm not really a fan of pretty boy metrosexual types so that being what they all were didn't help me with playing the second one.
"Madden" and "WoW" are the only series I can think of that everyone but myself enjoy. Some series aren't my favorites but I'll still play then, "Madden" and "WoW" are never gonna happen.
Regarding Boktai: The solar sensor… terrible? I really enjoyed it since it was so unique when I played it. But then again where I live it's pretty sunny so I've never had a problem with it, but I can still see why the third one was never brought over (same reason Lunar Knights ditched the mandatory sensor).
@Kidany:

I think only 20 female anime fans like you exist period.
So you like…you know wanna come over and help me patch up my sanji cosplay?

It was bad because the Solar Sensor was actually mandatory for most things in the game. Which means I could only play it on certain times and on certain days depending on the weather. Which sucks.
Boktai has fans?
I'm surprised to find out others have played it too. I'm even more surprised if they aren't Megaman Battle Network fans that got it for the crossover thing.
The crossover 2 version thing for the battle network series was the only idea worse than making a 3rd one.

That's the problem. If you have work or school during the day, you have very little time to actually play it. Then you have to factor in weather and getting yourself in an area where the sun hit the sensor.
On paper, the idea sounds nice. But the final effect was a disaster since it was a necessity to do anything in the game to avoid getting killed.
Also, speaking of Mega Man, I'm pretty much loathing everything labeled as "Mega Man" that isn't the main series. Who the hell're all these robots and why do none of them look like actual Mega Man characters? :( Why the hell wasn't the plot with the original series resolved?
You can't really bring up games like Boktai since barely anyone has heard of them. I think it's gotta be games that basically everyone has heard of.
I think only 20 female anime fans like you exist period.

That's probably why I don't really like talking with the majority girls that like anime. Too many "______ is so bishie, I wanna have his babies!!!:wub::wub::wub:"
About your request, sorry but I'll have to decline; I have my own costume to work on.
and add the gamecube naruto games. Goddamn talk about overrated.
Another example of combo centered games as well.
Ah, yeah. I forgot all about that. The first is pretty terrible. I'm fine with it being combo centered, but jeez everyone's normal combos are almost exactly the same. Appearance and special moves seem to be about the only things that are different. :| That was why I used Haku; he at least had unique shurikens.
@Solar:

Wasn't that in Network Underworld or whatever the hell Battle Network called it? You saw Django and he gave you some new chip that blew? I vaguely recall doing that, since I really liked Battle Network 4 for reason's I can't explain. Now that I'm older, it's the fucking stupidest RPG ever.
"Oh my God, an asteroid is coming torwards us! Let's build a giant laser to shoot it down!"
Who the fuck would come up with that? I also find it laughable how while Megaman is fighting an asteroid monster, the reality is, it's just some 10 year old kid playing his gameboy telling all the scientists to go away because he can only play in silence.
Anyone play Megaman Battle Network 5?
So bad.

4 and 5 are absolutely terrible. 6 is excellent, though.
Edit: thought of something else I hate that people seem to love:
the 3rd Generation of Pokemon, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. I like maybe 4 families from it and that's it.
Oh, and WoW. Definitely. This game has some unjust haters, I'll admit, but I've been on and off for years and I successfully say that I've wasted at least $100~$200 that would be much better spent on Guitar Hero 3, dammit. The community is filled with retards, honeslty, and I've been on a shitload of realms, too, but most of the people playing it were elitist shut-ins or just downright retarded. The graphics aren't even all that great, IMO. Unrealistic mapping, and the most boring quests ever. The entire game is killing and looting.
What's worse are the people who cop-out with "It's all about the social experiance with friends!". Well fuck that shit, how about just a movie or something? You're better off downloading a damn RO server and WoEing all day, it's better by comparison.

I found it hilarious how some character stayed the exact same throughout all 4 sequels.(Lee and Sasuke are the two most commonly used that fall into this category)
and how the game pretty much just came down to spamming safe combos against a guard trying to get your opponent to fuck up, and then bust out a juggle into a super.
It had a damage cancel of sorts, but it was still a really basic game.
and despite that, it's probably the anime game with the biggest competitive following in the states.
@Kidany:

sigh oh well.
At least Perona still loves me.
Wasn't that in Network Underworld or whatever the hell Battle Network called it?
Not sure, I was talking about Battle Network 5. Thought it was actually pretty good, but never played any of the other games in the series except for that Battle Chip Challenge or whatever it's called.
Though the last time I played Boktai I had pretty much nothing to do after school. But the comment about getting yourself into a good enough area reminds me of a few stories. But that's for another time and I think I've posted them a few times here anyway.

Because we all know no other game in existance involves a kid saving the world.
But Zulen makes it sound… well... funny when it's put like that.
Well, maybe the first part, but the second part… doesn't really make sense. I found the EXE series to be the only decent one, anyway.
The giant laser idea was used in megaman x5 as well.
Never works.

Same here. Give me manly men~! I'm not interested in dating someone I can beat in a fight.
lol I'm probably gonna get barked at for this one, but I always figured that the girls who go after girly looking guys are probably closet lesbians. :(
Also, I second the notion of WoW. My friend bugged the shit out of me to join when it first came out. Within five hours I was horrendously bored to tears and kicking myself for realizing I just wasted $50 on the damn game. It also annoyed the shit out of me that Blizzard will NOT delete your personal info when you decide to quit. Last thing I need is for them to have all my personal records (credit card included) kept on file after I've requested to have it removed since I was no longer interested in playing.
Glad someone else has discovered what made Kingdom Hearts II so shitty, at least in comparison to the first. For a while I was under the impression that I was the only person who could see that the fucking emperor had no clothes.
I found it to be too easy compared to the last title. Felt less like an original RPG with Disney characters thrown in and more like a typical recent-days Square RPG with less focus on Disney. I was honestly bummed out by how the second game turned out.
Hell, they even half-assed it by not having the celebrity voice actors return for the Final Fantasy characters. In fact, Cloud was the only one who actually returned. Everyone else was voiced by someone different.
final fantasy games…i cant stand random battles except in pokemon gb games and even those are pretty annoying

Random encounters happen in pretty much most RPGs. Final Fantasy wasn't the first to introduce it, either, as Phantasy Star came out for the Master System within a few days of FF's release over in Japan. Both have random encounters.
Plus, not all FF games have random encounters.

Cloud, Leon, and Yuffie returned. Areiths(SP?) did have a diffrent voice and so did Sephiroth. But come on, did you seriously wanna hear Lance Bass again? I agree Kingdom Hearts 2 definatly was dissapointing. The constant cutscenes that further contribute to an overall unintresting plot., Goofy being smart while Sora becomes an air-head, World designs, music, battle system. sigh
You act like you could even tell it was fucking Lance Bass.
Sephiroth's voice was so quiet and synthesized that it wasn't even Lance Bass anymore. "OH NO AN N'SYNC VOCALIST VOICED ONE OF THE CHARACTERS IN MY GAME"
If anything, Lance Bass was perfect for Sephiroth.

I didn't care that he was in N'SYNC or anything. I just didn't think the voice fit. I always expected Sephitoth to have a deep and serious yet calm VA. Which he does have now.
Does it really matter though, Sephiroth is really just a horrible character no matter what voice he gets.
@Kidany:

I'd never played Final Fantasy so I didn't know his personality at all. I guess since his role was so small it really didn't matter.

Hes the main villain of Final Fantasy VII.
I meant his role in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Leon was voiced by David Boreanaz in KH, whereas Doug Erholtz replaced him in KHII. Mae Whitman voiced Yuffie in KHII while Christy Romano voived her in the first.
Cloud was the ONLY returning VA for the FF cast.
Online RPGs make me want to vomit.
@Cyringohn:
That's because Street Fighter II sucked.
Despite how great Guile is, there's only so many times you can hear the fucker go "SOOZA BOO!" in a game before you slit somebody's throat. That game was all about some projectile spam.
Are you sure you don't really think SFII was the greatest video game of the past 20 years?

What do you mean? I remember hearing Christy Romano. And didn't she also play Yuffie in the movie and in the game starring Vincent? Maybe she just used a diffrent name.

Oh man, you made me choke on my tea XD. That was some hot tea damn it! shakes fist
WoW, ahmaigawd. I tried it at a friend's place (she's totally crazy about it, as is like, half of the undergrad Theater department at my college), it looked interesting and really kinda failed to deliver for me. I mean, it was terribly unbalanced between Alliance and Horde. That REALLY killed it for me. That and the boring "kill loot kill loot rinse repeat". The dances were entertaining, but I'm not shelling out money just for that.
I can never stick with MMORPGS for very long, but I found that Ragnarok had me hooked the longest. I played for almost a year at least an hour a day back in high school when I could afford the time :p.
Speaking of which, has anyone tried MapleStory or Fly For Fun? I hated both of those. I had to give up Ragnarok due to financial reasons and time constraints and I thought maybe a free game could help curb boredom when I had time to play. Damn I was dissappointed. MapleStory was filled to the brim with people who would hack it or cheat in some way. I'm not a very honest person, but isn't the whole point of a game to you know…try?
And FlyFF's controls confused the CRAP out of me. I got so lost even with a freaking onscreen tutorial @_@.
I really hate the metal gear solid series.Mabey it's because I only played one of its games but I really didn't like it. Why critics gave it so much praise, I will never comprehend.
Also Halo2…....... O myyyyyyyyyyy, Thats one of the most overrated games I have ever played. I thought Timespllitters future perfect was a million times better.

Wow she's good. I really couldn't tell the diffrence
God Of War 2
Thx G-Phoria and BAFTA:getlost:
Soul Calibur 2. I didn't get the hype before release, and didn't get it after I played it. I got really bored in ten minutes.
Also, Kingdom Hearts. I wouldn't say I hate it (I was once in love with it), but overtime I noticed the numerous game killing flaws, and the GBA game's awesome storyline made me realize that the first game's story wasn't as great as I thought it was.
The sequel stunk a lot, it's too bad the wait for it was so awesome. :(
