my father (who is an ear, nose and throat specialist doctor) strongly objects to piercing through the … cartilaginous(? never used that word before...) tissue in the ear though, as an infection there can make that whole part dissolve.

dont know about falling off but becomeing very disfigured is a possibility…
i'v only heard my father mentioning it in passing as i myself never considered pearcings or tattooes.

Well your heels matched the dress nicely even if you hated it. I'd say it was worth it. I'm used to wearing heels all the time, so much that when I go out I don't really have a problem dancing to salsa or merengue in them.

Sure why not, there's enough latin danceclubs in my area. Although the best ones are down by Miami. Almost a two hour drive down but it's worth it.
