I'll be starting a new job soon, and I will work weekends, starting at 10 PM, so I will miss the dub. Does anyone know of good sites that post the episodes after they air?

For me, /no one/ IRL knows that I like One Piece… apart from my brother and I've even taken the time to convince him that it was just a small phase from last year and that I don't like it anymore... I think it would be too weird if my friends liked One Piece simply because it would be so different to now. Also One Piece isn't exactly the kind of thing teens around here watch. We've only had the 4Kids dub of course so yeah, that pretty much explains it. xD;;
When I was in high school Pokemon and DBZ were the thing. Though I'm sure if I were in high school now Naruto would be the big thing and I'd be looked down upon for liking One Piece.
I'm really curious as to how they're going to do Conis' voice. I hope it doesn't sound dumb. Also, I just pwned my first noob in Toonzone, so that's a plus.
Conis is being voiced by Laura Bailey so I have faith that she'll do a good job. 
People complain too much. You all just need to chill, drink some tea, and watch Funi Piece without scrutinizing over every little thing.
Not scrutinizing every little thing about the One Piece dub is like Buuhan not saying "fuck" anymore. It just wouldn't be entertaining. :sad:

That'd be great, actually. I mean, with the 4Kids dub it wasn't really needed seeing how it was the… 4Kids dub. But with FUNi's dub that'd be great. It'd keep things more episode centric.
We could have another thread for official talk of the dub in general. Or not. Lol, it'd clean some stuff up at least.

Anyways, I hate to support 4kids...but people are kinda too harsh to say they are single handily responsible for people thinking One Piece to be kiddy... Cause you know what? Of all the people I've talked to who dislike One Piece and called it kiddy wasn't cause of the 4kids dub...but the art style.
Many people find Oda's art style to be extremely cartoonish and silly…which it is. He purposely did such and stated he did it so "no matter how gloomy the situation got, the art style will lessen the negative impact".
So yeah, a large portion of the reason people find One Piece kiddy isn't due to the 4kids dub.

I have to agree with you that the art style does give the impression that One Piece is for younger viewers. Before I watched One Piece and just saw the ads, I think I thought it was ugly (don't worry, I love it now xD) and that put me off watching it. Then when I saw the dub I got put off watching it even more… ironically enough I kept watching the dub now and then because it amused me at how stupid it was, then eventually got hooked on the storyline of Alabasta...
Well anywayy I do think that the 4Kids dub has a huge effect on whether or not people perceive One Piece as being a kids show, and this is proved by the fact that once I started watching the Japanese version without the ridiculous edits, voices and dialogue I became completely obsessed. :D
But at any rate isn't One Piece a kids show in Japan? I like to think it's targeted at a wide range of ages but I've seen people arguing otherwise.
It is a kids show in Japan, I find it hard to believe but I guess that's due to the fact I don't live in Japan and I don't see tons of little Japanese kids running around in the streets yelling gomu gomu no attacks out.
That, and the culture differences. Over here such material which One Piece has would not pass as a kids show, instead we got shit like Barney and Sesame Street.
Demographics are different in Japan as well… I mean... it's okay to show all that blood and violence to kids there, but here that would never fly =/

I remember seeing the trailer for the first and second movie and thought… that this is pretty cool.
Though I always thought at the time that... it's a pirate show. The main character is a kid with a straw hat. It must be kiddy.
Never really thought it was kiddy cause of the art style, but it did put me off the series a little when I started to read the manga. Some of the facial expressions just seemed so very out of proportion that it just came off as weird, and yet I was actually interested with what I read. So I disregarded the art and read it for the story, and I loved One Piece ever since. Heck now I even love the art style and I can't imagine it being drawn any differently. It would just be weird if it was.

Yeah… after hearing someone say that a few (dozen) pages back, I was pretty surprised. Now every time I see those "cool chuck place" commercials I think of Chuck E. Cheese with each arm around a 12 year old, paying them off for their company with tokens.
so every time one of those commercials come on you bust out laughing and your family is like "err.. WTF?"
I totally think someone should draw a comic of Chuck E saying to some little girl, "Hey what if I bought you? You look like a simple girl. Can't fetch too high of a price…" Then the girl turns around crying and goes, MOOOMMMYYY!" and Chuck says, "I like your attitude!"

I guess people have different definitions of "kiddy". when I hear kiddy I think of shows aimed at toddlers with no substance to them. One Piece is a kids show filled with stuff intended for kids, but kiddy is a word that I would not use, even when I was a kid. But that's my perception of the word. I find it derogatory.
^ I agree with you, "kiddy" makes One Piece sound like something like Teletubbies/Barney… like for younger children. Describing One Piece as a kids' show would be more fitting. I think of children as 6-8 and kids as 9 to like 12 or 13. Kiddies I don't really think of at all... but seems like 5 and under. xD It's so easy to interpret words slightly differently.
Edit: This is the dub I'm talking about... I don't think the unedited version would fly as a kids show in the western world.
