Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. Just a dumb fun summer action movie.
! But holy hell did that girl make the wrong call at the end.

! That was her opening salvo in the clone war on humanity.
Hopefully they'll pull another King Kong and accidentally let the dinosaurs wreck civilization.
In this case would we have…a Jurassic Planet? :o
Fallen Kingdom is really, deeply at times, stupid film but in the fun way, not the The Last Jedi way.
Seems like Jurassic Park 3 has been vindicated history that or forgotten.

Fallen Kingdom still rates above JP3; the former is just dumb while the latter was stupid but also pissed off pretty much everybody by having a T-Rex job to the Spinosaurus. There's nothing in Fallen Kingdom that really compares to that.
I really don't see why this one even had to be made besides $$$ and Chris Pratt marketing, but ah well. And this is from someone who kinda liked the previous movie. Except for the assistant(?)'s death, that was just horribly cruel.

That would be awesome!
At the end a bunch of rich people escape on shuttles and build colonies on the moon, so they can come back 200 years later in the sequel to fight the dinosaurs with mechs.

Isn't that nearly identical to that Godzilla anime film…....and with Pacific Rim is already a thing.

I should probably see those.
One thing that's particularly stuck out to me about these new Jurassic movies is how one you care gets killed by the dinos. In the first one we maybe sort of cared about the owner, but not much. In this one again the owner died, but that was at the hands of humans. Meanwhile in the original we lost the likes of the raptor tracker and Sam Jackson's character, both of which I still quote to this day. I don't remember the sequel as well but the one guy getting snatched by the T-rex while saving everyone from falling off the cliff side was memorable for me. At their core the Jurassic movies are survival movies and it just loses impact when you don't have any side characters you care about die.
So, in a fairly unconventional move, they just released the first five minutes of Jurassic World: Dominion.
Sorry for the double post, but we have a trailer.
! Won't lie, there is something kind of refreshing and even a little unsettling (in a good way) about seeing dinosaurs in all these new real-world environments and human cities. Plus, having the original cast back doesn't hurt.
! That said, I still don't anticipate this being much more than a fairly dumb summer blockbuster.
Kinda gave up on the franchise during that super raptor hide and seek game in front of the elevator. When super raptor looks directly at the camera, ugh…
