We'd end up seeing most of Brooke's moves and then there'd be nothing left besides his own weaker version of the attacks.

Well, I think Brooke told Ryuuma in an earlier chapter that when he does the Arrow Notch Strike, he doesn't do it correctly. So that would essentially be Brooke's trump card.

What is so surprising about ryuma beating zoro in their first encounter ?
Did all of you already forget that ryuma is a warrior from the New World ?

That fight is just for showing us what is a new world level swordman , so quit whining about that , too many people were thinking ryuma will be a joke , that's why they can't believe what is happening right now .

Zoro will have to surpass himself to beat the zombie of a man who was in his time what mihawk is today .

Do you think that it is possible that he will increase his level when he gets back his shadow back? can it be that he will aquire the experience the shadow got in all these years when being with Ryuma and training with him? Since when someone gets the shadow of a person, they aquire all techiques of this person…so does it work the other way round too?

This isn't Naruto. The reason Ryuuma's attacks do it with such force is because of Ryuuma's body using them. That's all.

Personally, I don't believe Zoro has lost. Brooke just said "The duel is over." (according to the translations I've read at least)
Nowhere was it mentioned that Zoro lost. All the talk of him not using full strength could just show how much he pwned Ryumma. The scene with Ryumma looking all badass could just be like 1 second before he topples over, defeated by Zoro's new move which sends him flying through the air to land on the ground below.

Anyway, for the Ussop fight, all I can say is, "GO TEN TON HAMMER!"

yeah to me it's clear, Zorro didn't lost. First he isn't wearing his scarf, then he made a promess.

in fact, i think Brook said it, because he underestimates zorro, even if it seems weird that Oda didn't show us the fight.

Wow, i just read the chapter. Absolutely amazing.
I haven't had this much fun reading a single chapter in a while. Usopp being all badass and an interesting twist in Zorro's fight.

I don't think Zorro lost. He has gotten up from death blows more times than i can count.

Nah, not really. He already mastered the attack using it.

But damn, that's ZORO we're talking about. No bullshit of him down with that. He won't be down even if all of the characters in the whole story will attack him with their best shots at once.

I think Oda may want him down for once.. This is honestly the first Zoro fight I'm worried about. Oda has never shown an outcome before showing the fight itself…

Seems to me that Zoro is only learning his opponents techniques… He let Ryuuma do his moves, now he knows what he's able to.
I think he will not even need to put his bandana on. The problem in TB is not about Ryuuma, but about Oz...

also zoro is using 2 swords, he's not using santoryu which is a handicap for him….

remember in the kuro arc... with 3 swords he defeated nyaban brothers in 1 hit, when he had 1 he could barely keep up....

People Zoro isn't going anywhere and I wouldn't say just that attack "pwned" Zoro. If Zoro got defeated by the attack then we can say PWNED! which is highly unlikely.

1. Zoro only has TWO swords and he is going up against a legendary swordsman from the New World.

2. Possibly the most important fact of all, Zoro does not have his Haramaki (bandanna) on. Meaning he isn't serious (though he has been pwned before without it).

3. Tell me Ryumma did not look sweet with all that aura around him as he was posing for a Shonen Jump cover picture?

This chapter I believe is the best one so far in this entire arc, it was just so awesome. I was against Ryuuma vs. Zoro, but this fight is jsut too awesome to pass up.

True, in Franky's opening saga alone he fought Luffy, Nero, Usopp, and Fukurou. Hell I might even be forgetting one. He whooped ass on all of them. The only person who kicked his ass a little was probably Lucci and that wasn't even his fight.

And I agree, Brook VS. Spider Monkey was ten bags of awesome. Since Ryuuma is showcasing Brook's abilities as well, I don't mind if he doesn't have another fight this arc. I'm really interested to see him play some music, so I wanna see how that goes.

When you look at it like that, I guess it makes sense if he doesn't get a fight. I'm just curious what Oda is planning to do with those Zombie generals he made specific panels for earlier in the arc. Gunslinger Zombie and Captain John seem more important than others, unless I've missed what their fate is somewhere.

While I don't think Zoro is going to lose this battle, it's nice to see that Ryuuma isn't a pushover. It just seems like people want the Strawhats to come into an area, kick everyone's ass, and move on with all the talk of Moria and Jinbei being one-hit-KO fodder.

It wasn't a replica! Usopp basically got his ass handed to him by a psychotic wolfman, and it was completely one-sided. Brooke, on the other hand, put up a somewhat decent fight (even if Ryuuma wasn't fighting "seriously").
If anything, it's more like Nami stepping in for Sanji after Califa whupped his ass.

Actually it just hit me that TB might be the real point of the Gyojin Saga [if I may call it that way], and then Gyojin Island will only be there for the minor stuff. Only a good chuck of info about the Red Line and all that, kinda like P~W7 arc.

btw, I heard this 'Zoro isn't serious only with 2 swords, just you wait' shit going for a while on this thread [/forum]. I just have to interrupt that.
I gotta say, this is ridiculous trying to find such an excuse. Zoro was the one who brought it on himself, challenging Ryuuma with only 2 swords, not to mention losing one in the first place. This fight is the fairest fight ever. And Zoro will handle it like a man, not bitching about how unfair it is and that he needs another sword.

Tired of the Zoro' excuses. People saying he only has two swords, with one sword he should still be a very strong fighter. Hell, Mihawk defeated him with a knife and people giving Zoro excuses for just having two swords during this fight?

Come on now. And in reality, two swords is not that big of an advantage over one sword.

It would be kind of cool though if Zoro did defeat him, and two chapters from now after the flashback Ryuuma will still be in that pose and Brooke's shadow will slowly come out cause Zoro put salt in his mouth during that last attack.

Shanks, Ryuuma and Sanji all have an aura around them. Sanji's has been doing this since Enies Lobby. Hell, in his fight with Absalom his clothes were slowly burning off. Look at the pics again, you see small clothes particles above his suit. Something is diffently going on with that.

maybe we have an very abrupt chabgeover to the fishman Island Arc making the whole fight a bit more complicated.
Wouldnt be the first time for Oda starting crazy things in the middle of an arc.

Oh, and I forgot about it, but about pages 18 and 19.. so was it really misplaced, or is it intended that way?
If it was misplaced, there's the chance the flashback already ended and all we'll get about Ryuuma next chapter is an explenation.. which I didn't think about that way at all. For some reason I took the continue of the flashback next chapter as an obvious thing :o

Yeah, that's what is actually exciting me about this fight. Zoro fights are usually straight-foward, besides the Mr. 1 fight that is. So I really want to see where this is going.

Regardless of how many people dislike these fights ending so quickly, I rather like them. It's an example of how much progress the Strawhats have made in their combat skills.

Anyway, great chapter. Loved the panel on site 12 where Usopp picks up the bug. Kinda reminded me at Jaya where he was playing with the tarantula.

Meh. You know Oda's going to make us wait. Heck, Whitebeard and Shanks were yammering about meeting way back, just after Alabasta, but we had to sit through Jaya, Skypiea, the Davy Back Fight, Enies Lobby, and Water 7–twice--before he let us know how that turned out.
