That's too bad about Luci being scared away by some ignorant bashers. The only time I've heard her with a southern accent was in Abenobashi and that's because her character was from Osaka. I recently wached all of Full Metal Panic? Fumuffu(the second season) and thought her voice was fine as a girl Nami's age. But, yeah someone should tell her Arlong Park will welcome her with open arms, as long as Skull kid isn't around.

Hopefully we'll get the exact airdate of when the new dub starts at least. It'd be nice to get a look at the boxsets as well but that's probably too soon to discuss. -

I'm saying in regards to 4kids plotholes for their TV dub, since they can't distribute those missing episodes yet.
If the 2001 redub of Dragon Ball episodes 1-13 is any indication, nothing's preventing them from airing re-dubbed episodes. They just can't distribute them for the home-release (read: DVD) market…

No, I talked around at the FUNimation booth, and they confirmed that they've got multiple episodes done. They're doing it up in "six-episode blocks" I believe was the phrase. Interestingly, they don't have any info on when the heck it'll air… They said that Cartoon Network was in charge of that. Eh, whatever. They also confirmed that they have no other actor announcements other than the Mugiwara pirates, so who who is is still up in the air.
Alternatively, every person at the booth (including actors not involved like Caitlin Glass) seemes very upbeat and excited at the very mention of OP. Also, Brina Polencia gave me a Chopper line. I laughed out loud, it was great.
I'll talk to Colleen tomorrow when I get my Hawkeye cards signed, and I'll see if I can get some of Luffy's better lines. I'm definately going to attend the panel tomorrow, and I'll report back whenever. Also, I praised Mato endlessly to everybody there, and mentioned apforums to them.

The original interview from April 12th, was when they said August would be when the dub airs.
And I beleive at Anime Expo they mentioned it airing mid-August didn't they?
B/c actually, if you look at the amount of eipsodes left, we're no where near August.

The Naruto marathons aren't really slowing things down,they were scheduled before the new One Piece dub.

The Naruto marathons aren't really slowing things down,they were scheduled before the new One Piece dub.
What I meant was that the marathons are holding off the 4Kids episodes… Without the Naruto marathons we could've already been a few episodes ahead. And we can't get to the FUNi episodes until they finish the remaining 4Kids episodes.

BTW he also asked Colleen to do a Luffy impersonation but all she said was "I'm gonna be king of the pirates!" It's hard to tell how her acting will compare until you hear things in context.EDIT:

That's pretty big, but for some reason I don't feel surprised. Doesn't matter though, that's still pretty awesome, makes me hope we'll be seeing more Oda involvement with the localized version of "One Piece", like him voicing Odacchi for an English dub of the soccer special and him appearing at gatherings like AX or Comic-Con.
Just going along with whatever is meant to happen sounds like the best way to handle possible plot-holes, it'll amke things go more smoothly in the long-run. And who knows, maybe we will see dubs of Laboon and Little Garden before the plot-holes could ever happen.
And man, I think if any of us ever get the chance we should tell specifically to Oda and anyone else who doesn't know but might be interested what exactly got changed by 4Kids. The directors who came to AX just know it got watered down, I wonder how they'd react if they actually saw the dub or found out what exactly was changed?

Jeff Glenn Bennett as Franky would be win to the Nth degree, but as you said it near impossible seeing as how this dub is based in Texas and not LA. I assume whoever they got (or get) will be just as talented however.
