It really depends on the book store with the books because Books a million has volume 13 of naruto and volume 14 of one piece but at walden books volume 15 of naruto is out and they just got volume 14 of one piece.
New Official Viz Manga Discussion

Sweet!! Now I just need 15 to come out.
-
dang! volume 16 already! dang! is it one ebay? dang! thats something worth saying dang over and over again for!
Next thing I know someone will have volume 17's cover…lol...
-
The pink title text is a little garish, but otherwise it looks fine.
I still haven't gotten volume 14 yet…
-
game2005…wow that man must be a hater...I appreciate lots a stuff...
Anyhow, I got 14. I think the SBS thing is funny...got Patty, Carne, and Zeff...Zeff actually smiles...lol.Hey, um...can the guy who posted that volume 16 picture post a volume 15 picture of equal size?
-
… great gumgum.. judge a guy on a quote taken out of context.
(well it was kinda stupid even in context but still... you shouldnt judge people like that.) -
-
a pologize dude who stuck up for gamer…that was not my intent...thx for the 15 pic dude.
-
Considering the Viz volumes are bigger, the images might not shrunnk at all. Maybe they just didn't enlarge them to have the same dimensions like for other titles.
Oda's originals are probably very, very large, as in poster-sized manga pages. It's easier for him to draw and easier for resizing.
And the coloring on the letters, oh boo hoo, that totally changes EVERYTHING. -_-
Exactly, it's totally different now.
Even Pokémon beat One Piece. I've only seen like one or maybe two Pokémon mangas on a shelf!
Just as Planned!
-
Meh, I really dislike the "One Piece" ontop of the One Piece logo. If they had to put it there instead of a line then they could have at least made it smaller and in a better font.
-
I agree with buu…its not One Piece One Piece, its simply One Piece. Not Two Piece.
-
I agree with buu…its not One Piece One Piece, its simply One Piece. Not Two Piece.
Who actually calls it One Piece One Piece?
-
he is talking about the double title on the (viz?) volume cover image you posted
-
yup! fortunately, I've come across no one who calls it One Piece One Piece…Its just a few other mangas have double titles like that...of course...there was that NEP ECE idiot who I love to talk about...any one lese know about that incident?
-
he is talking about the double title on the (viz?) volume cover image you posted
What I was saying is what idiot would think the series was called 'One Piece One Piece', it's pretty obvious that Viz was trying to provide people with a clearer idea of what the series was called (I use to think it was called Nepic before actually paying attention the the series).
-
I do not know whats worse.. Pink text with yellow background.. or Neon yellow text on Pink background XD
-
Why do they have to have light colors on the covers in America why cant they Just keep the dark covers they have in Japan.
-
about the pokemon Manga
i think its still being made only under the label VizKids,(exaples of VizKids Mangas:Kingdome hearts original,COM,And Princesses.)
It going to be 2015 by the time we catch up to OP XD..
I read somewere that the reason Viz stopped doing the pokemon manga was because a Singapore manga publishing company took it over.
-
W00t finally a new volume of OP this august! cool! And we're already at Choppers flashback due to a steady run of 3 chapters a month in ASJ! I'm starting to like this evolution! Alabasta comes soon! And by Newyears Mr. 2, Ace and Croc will all be revealed if there is a steady flow of 3 a month!
-
I read somewere that the reason Viz stopped doing the pokemon manga was because a Singapore manga publishing company took it over.
No, they stopped and then Singapore began printing Engrish-esque releases.
-
So yeah, I still haven't gotten my ASJ issue this month. Anyone else still not have it or is it just me?
-
I read somewere that the reason Viz stopped doing the pokemon manga was because a Singapore manga publishing company took it over.
then what Pokemon Manga did I see then?( some of the covers has ash and pikachu and the background was a green, blue, yellow or red spiral)If I see the books I post a link or pic
-
Eh…I went to the bookstore, and they were still advertising vol. 14, and there weren't any vol. 15 there, so...I don't know about this month for 15.

They may have them at Ruperts because they get there One Piece and (mostly)Naruto books Two or Three weeks before they are set to come out.

I saw what I think was the latest Jump issue in Wal-Mart yesterday (I don't actually read it, so I'm not sure). I just flipped through it, but I noticed that they translated Dalton's Devil Fruit as the Ox Ox Fruit, Bison Model. Seems like an odd translation to me, but I like that they kept the Model Part.
-
What was odd about it? The way they worded it, or is it supposed to be Cow Cow fruit?
-
What I found odd is that they'd use Ox, which refers to a more specific type of cow. I just think Cow Cow Fruit would sound better because it's more general.
-
isnt cow just the name for females in different animal spicies? (just like bull is the male name). i think female elephants are called cows too or something. atleast they are in my native tongue.
from wikipedia dont know if you want to belive it or not.
@wikipedia:The use of such a term is rare in the English language and hence a source of confusion. Strictly speaking, the singular noun for the domestic bovine is ox: a bull is a male ox and a cow is a female ox. That this was once the standard name for domestic bovines is shown in place names such as Oxford. But "ox" today is rarely used in this general sense, instead denoting the castrated male used as a beast of burden. Instead, "cow" is frequently used by the general population as a gender-neutral term, despite it being designated to refer solely to females. (Females of other animals, such as whales or elephants, are also called cows).
guess the best name would be bovine bovine fruit if you dont think ox works.
-
Well, I never thought of that. It works anyway.
-
Well, there's something I didn't know. Of course, I still would prefer Cow Cow Fruit, just because I like the sound of it. If anything, I'd rather still have it as Ushi Ushi, but it doesn't really matter. I'll go with whatever Viz decides.
-
What does this mean for OP? Only time will tell…

I really hope OP does not end in US SJ magazine..

I agree, but at least they called it "Ox Ox Fruit Bison Model" and used "Zoan". As far as I heard 4Kids just left it at "Ox Ox Fruit" and made up their own word for Zoan.

Hey, maybe if it does, then we'd get more frequent volume releases! Like FMA, it got every other month, but then it started catching up to Japan's volume count.

I wish they'd do to One Piece what they're doing with Naruto.
In order to slightly catch up, they're doing a massive release of Naruto.
3 Volumes a month for 4 month's straight.
They'll end this year with Volume 28, the last vol. before the time jump.
They need to do this with One Piece, which is even farther behind.
like, get to skypia by the end of the year…..at least. -

No, 4Kids left in Zoan. But they didn't mention it until the Alabasta arc.

Well, the first volume has alread sold out eight printings, compared to Naruto's first volume selling out fifteen, so who knows, maybe this new dub will boost sales.

So, I saw the new SJ issue in the book store yesterday, and they had more information about the Shonen Jump Evolution.
As we know, Naruto Nation means more Naruto than you can shake a stick at, Shaman King has ended and Bobobo has come in. In November's issue, another title will be exiting, and considering Yugioh will be ending soon it's probably that one, and yet another title is coming in.
And THEN in this month's issue they mention yet ANOTHER title will be leaving the book in December.
OK, now this month we ended One Piece on chapter 139. If we continue getting 3 chapters a month, we'll be officially done with Drum Island in 5 months. (With only one chapter left for volume 17, the one about Crocodile)
December is in 5 months…..and the start of Alabasta would be a great point to begin bi-monthly One Piece. jus sayin'

Which issue is this? August 2007? 'Cause mine says only one title is leaving, and I'm 99% sure it is YGO.
There are six chapters left in book sixteen needed to be published:
140. Castle in the Snow (雪の住む城, Castle in the Snow?)
141. Quack Doctor (ヤブ医者, Quack Doctor?)
142. Jolly Roger and Cherry Blossoms (ドクロと桜, Jolly Roger and Cherry Blossoms?)
143. Unskilled (不器用, Unskilled?)
144. Snowy Tale (雪物語, Snowy Tale?)
145. Carrying on His Will (受け継がれる意志, Carrying on His Will?)I assume that the September issue will have three new chapters and the October issue I assume will also have three chapters. Book seventeen is ten chapters long. I would love for those issues to be spread across November and December, but I don't see it happening until I can discover the release date of book seventeen, what with sixteen coming out in November. It HAS to finish publishing in October, so it is 100% confirmed that the following two issues of Monthly JUMP North America will have three chapters.

They're only on vol. 12 and they have to get to 30 or so.

Viz previously stated in their official SJ Evolution announcement that a title will be leaving in November.
I was flipping through the new SJ at the book store, it was white and had Naruto on the cover. They had a little timeline in it which said a title is leaving in December.
So I put two and two together, and figure we've got 2 on the way out.
And 3 chapters a month would mean that in December we'll be one chapter short of finishing off 17. (December as in, the actual month of December and not the December issue)
And the Shaman King announcement was made a while ago. They're ending it's run in the magazine, and releasing the rest of the series on a bi-monthly schedule in volume-only format.
