I've watched all season, and am going to watch to the end of the season, but I doubt I'll be back next year.
Does anyone notice how the story has a LOT of useless, less then entertaining, bits and pieces tossed in? Much of it seems confusing, or illogical. Like, Sylar just suddenly smashes his mom with snow globes. …wtf? Or suddenly Hiro isn't in his space time stop and Sylar grabs his sword? ....wtf? Much of the Nikki-Micah stuff until now has been mere time consumption. Might be the way most shows are written these days, but it is so cheap.
Also, the entire super powers thing started to become ridiculous with hiro's abilities being explained and used too much in conjunction with the future. Time stuff always gets cheezy because the writers can cop and and claim alternate realities or time lines, alternate dimensions, or paradoxes. It's like a shell game and they can make the magic pea show up under any one they want. Then, the accretion and attrition of powers via Sylar/Peter Petrelli leaves a lot of silly loose ends and illogical conclusions to come through in the story. It already makes no sense whatsoever that Peter didn;t just FLY away, or FLY to Texas, or fly almost anywhere to avoid the bomb... he's just tempting fate for no real reason. Harry potter has the same problem, stemming from all that witchcraft pap. Probably reads well in a novel where people don;t visualize the obviously illogical story, but get it on screen and it seems fairly stupid.
It had the most incredible first two episodes. That was IMO some of the best TV I saw in the past decade or more, but they really let it go since. By trying to be tricky and complex they are making the show too unruly and illogical. And I fear down the road, no matter what happens now, they can always pull some rabbit out of their hat which is just pure crap like the DALLAS dream sequence negating 2 or 3 seasons previous.
If the conclusion of this season pulls it off well, I'll praise the hell out of it, though. But I doubt it since they dropped the integrity of the characters a long time ago just to fit in a lot of visual items and super cliches.
