LOST: Season 3 *spoilers abound*
-
Oh man, the excitement is just…
-
Damn, the time went by fast, didn't it?
-
Channel 4 showing season 2 over here in the U.K. definately helped me with my fix.
-
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm almost not ready for Season 3 to start… I was going to rewatch Season 2 once the DVDs came out and I haven't even started on that... now the premiere is tomorrow night!
-
I totally understand. Although my excitement tells my brain otherwise, I really wanted to get a hold of the Season 2 DVDs and check them out.
And get this, I'm going to visit my girlfriend in Kawasaki over the weekend and since she watches LOST too, she asked that I wait to see it with her….I said yes.
If that ain't love, brother I don't know what is.
-
Only an hour to go here, as I type this from the ceiling.
HURRY UP, DAMMIT!
-
dammit, I have to sit here and wait another day for a torrent . . .

DUDE! You better hope this is real.

Forth one down.
-
Sigh…there are times when I wish I was back home.
This very moment is certainly one of them.
I have to abandon this thread until Friday night (Thursday morning)
Peace.
-
Well, now that it's over, I must say I sure liked all those commercials, but I found the bits of Lost in between them to be distracting.

I felt a little out of it too, until the end. Only because it's been a while though.
! The Others have their own little village. With a gazebo!
-
What's up with
! Henry's name being Ben?
Is that significant at all?
-
Opening: Excellent, used the same tricks as S2's opening to great effect.
Content: A decent amount of material to digest but somewhat lacking for a grand season premiere.
Flashback: God, I hope this wraps up Jack's past for a long time. Least favorite character on the show by far. -
MY NAME IS HENRY GALE
Guess not
-
Was it just me, or did Ben's "1 hour" estimation of how long it'd take to get to the tail section, seem a little off?
THE ISLAND'S LIKE, MASSIVE! CAN GOODWIN FLY?
-
Of course Goodwin can fly, just as Ethan has super strength. Anywho, looking at the Dharma map that Locke found and where is "the Hydra" suppose to be? One of the two to the west, possible the one that was scribbled(it looked runned down)
-
Sigh~
I can't wait to find out what happened to Eko and Lockeand I can't wait even more til Eko starts bashing heads in again. Preferably those of "the others".
-
I bet two Dharma fish biscuits, that Karl is one of the Others.

Naw, seems right. Remember, they floundered around in the water and pulled in bodies for quite a while.

Precisely my impression.
The opening raped my mind until nothing was left but a small wimpering shell of a soul.
The material was severely lacking BUT I think in retrospect it will be amazing.
What I mean by that is, when we see what the Others are doing that time, who Carl is and why he did what he did, Kate`s wounds, how Juliet can get around from the aquarium to forest and back in a relatively short period, etc. it will probably become very important.
Jack`s fb made a great theme for the episode and while I enjoyed his flashbacks to this point, this was reaching. Lets get to the Thailand days already!
The opening MADE the episode but I feel confident in saying:
Anything and everything involving Sawyer was pure gold.
-
I'm actually starting to like Jack. I'm not sure why… but what I know is that Kate likes to shower.
-
Jack's only interesting when he's about to crack
which he did. -
Actually, I kind of agree with that statement. I'm sure thousands of people have commented before that Jack is sort of a twist on the most basic "leader" archetype. On the one hand he is a brilliant doctor with a strong sense of responsibility that puts him in the hero/leader role you expect to follow and rally behind in a story like this. But on the other hand, he's had these wretched failed relationships with his ex-wife and father that have really left him bitter and afraid to get close to others, plus a strong grounding in science and wariness of the unexplained (his ex-wife's crash recovery) that means not only is he very antagonistic and guarded with other characters, but he is almost always against the story direction that many viewers want to see. They want to trust in the leader to lead them to the promised land, but Jack is always against exploring the line of action that will explain the mysteries of the island.
So it's an interesting contradiction the writers put in place, but it also means that concretely you are still watching Jack be incredibly childish (like swinging on the chain!) which can get very grating. Of course, all the characters are like this, and you have to give the writers credit for making them all flawed and sympathetic to some extent. Lately I find myself interested in the more wicked or chaotic characters: Sawyer, Charlie, Michael (gone), etc. It's a rare enough treat to have a massive primetime TV hit (that's not on HBO) with such relatively daring and difficult characterization so I like to see the writers when they're really straining the character bonds and throwing wrenches into the works.
-
Wait, wait, wait, Tom's gay?
I really liked the epsiode. At the start I was going 'WTF' when I saw all the others. I really enjoyed Jack's flashback, which makes a change because I wasn't a big fan of his character. But, did anyone else get that part of the feeling you get from watching LOST had gone?:wassat:
-
Lately I find myself interested in the more wicked or chaotic characters: Sawyer, Charlie, Michael (gone), etc.
Am I one of only a few who enjoys Charlie?????
Everywhere I look reviewers are bashing Charlie saying they spend way too much time on his addiction etc.
The hell? Spend way too much time? He had what? One fb last year??? And if anything his obsessive nature is toned way down from what it probably would have been in reality. I loved everything about Charlie last season.
Sawyer is amazing though. He's become my favorite character and outshining even last season's tainted Locke or any scene with Eko is a monumental achievement. He's a rocking character and not that everyone hasn't fallen beautifully into their roles, but he's just perfect. He's my Zoro of Lost.
You know, Lost's power is ridiculous. We had some free time last week in class prepping for this week's test so during the free time I brought in a Japanese subbed episode one. It worked out so that the remaining time in each class was just enough to see up to Lostzilla's first appearance. Even though the kids are usually bouncing off the walls they all came up and asked what it was and where they were etc. etc.
What a series.
But yeah, I still wanna see Thailand Jack.
-
I actually really like Charlie, too. I was really kind of frustrated last season that he didn't get all that much screentime past the midpoint. Locke is by far my favorite character, but Charlie is high up there too along with Hurley and Sawyer.
I can't wait for tonight's episode. Hopefully there will be less commercials and more actual episode.
-
Charlie is my favorite character too signs I think Jack's actor
just isn't all that charismatic as a person. I never really liked him on Party of five either.I'm not a rabid Sawyer fan though, I think he's interesting, but for some reason I personally found Jin more interesting than Sawyer. But Echo by far is the biggest badass priest on the show. I really wish the writers hadn't ruined the Echo/Charlie interaction however. When Echo went priest crazy, I felt the same betrayal Charlie did :/
And Sayid! How could I forget Sayid, Sayid is the f*'in man through 90% of the show.
-
Here we go now!
! Henry's full name is Benjamin Linus, and The Others DO have contact with the outside world. If Jack does everything Ben tells him, Jack will be able to go "Home".
! Oh, and Jae Lee getting his ass killed for sleeping with Sun.
! Next week, THE RETURN OF LOCKE! -
[hide]I lol'ed at the boston red sox thing[/hide]
-
I want to see some others DIE.
-
-
The Red Sox thing was pretty hilarious and kind of surreal to see in the show like this.
All around, pretty good episode but still seems to be holding back on the amount of info doled out.
-
The Red Sox thing was pretty hilarious and kind of surreal to see in the show like this.
Funny you mentioned that but I was just thinking that as this season progresses we're going to see a lot more stuff connected in that fashion as the outside blends with inside.
I didn't like how this was essentially House of the Rising Sun all over again. I mean almost literally. While the present was interesting, the fb was sadly a waste that didn't bring us any closer to realizing whose baby it is.
Hurray for Sun though. First badass thing she's done since ever.
-
Hahaha Sawyer.
Got the season 2 DVDs and if you hunt around the extras enough, you find out some freaky crap;
! I'm pretty much positive Locke's mom, Hurley, Libby and the guy who kept repeating the numbers stayed at the same crazy house. Also, it seems one of the women Sawyer slept with was the announcer when Hurley was watching the lottery.
There was this really freaky video thing about six degrees of separation, and then this bizzare character connections thing where each character (or place) had a screen with wires that you selected to look at others. The weirdest part is where you put in the numbers with your remote and see some of their significance in the show.
-
Lol. The baby will be bald.
-
Ok question.
How are they gonna deal with:
A. Time passing
B. TLE
TLE supposedly happens in real time right? And at the pace LOST moves there won't be any conclusion to the story if Hanso Foundation is still in control in our time.
That said.
As insane as it may seem, I'm suggesting that sometime in either season 3 or 4 there will be a huge gap of time leading them up to present day.
I mean…..how the hell else will they explain Walt when he pops back up ^O^
-
What is TLE? Why does Lost have to catch up to our time? Did I miss something..?
I don't see why you guys are applauding Sun.. she's a lying whore and she's been one since she was a child because her dad was too much of a whimp to beat her when she lied and ruined her maids life.
-

Well that's kinda the point. No one on the island is perfect. They all have faults.
But shooting her in the stomach was the coolest thing she's done in the show.
TLE is The Lost Experience. The online game that ran this summer.
-
wonder if sawyer is going to die or something…
-
[hide]Ok.. so for some reason I think Locke, Eko and Desmond have some three wise men thing going.. but it's not exactly like the bible with Claire's baby being Jesus, it's more like the three muskateers.
In this episode, they each represent kind of like the past (Eko) the present (Locke) and the future (Desmond) although this could be off since it was a one episode thing. I have to say though, this episode was definately more mindblowing than most of the other episodes. Kinda pissed he didn't shoot that cop.
They did a pretty good job with the CGI bear too, although I'm kind of dissapointed it didn't talk or do something weirder, or at least more intelligent. After all the bears figured out how to get the food faster than James so meh
So what did everyone else think of this episode? I hope Hurley and Charlie end up having some more character development personally, and form their own little group. The "normal" people if you will, the people that observe the events. Since Locke's group seems to be the " those who gaurd gaurdians," Jack's group is "the gaurdians and victims" or at least the people that seemingly are responsible for them being there. Or the writers could change it up alltogether and make it Hurley's fault after all.[/hide]good episode

Hey dudes, suggestion.
After the episode airs (US I suppose since we have a lot of downloaders ((myself included)) ) let's not use the spoiler tags.
Anything about future episodes we can use tags for.
I suggest this only because I agonize over whether to reveal a spoiler or not since I'm uncertain of whether it's about the most recent episode or something else ^o^;
Now then, GREAT EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Locke is back Baby!!! And so is the magic from Season 1. Boone hit me so fast I didn't even know what happened. "BOONE! BOOOOOONE!"
They're so awesome.
The ending wasn't as DON as I expected but interesting just the same.
Side note: I love how now Jack, Sawyer and Kate (and Sayid, Sun and Jin) are gone it's like, "Okay, time to start using other people!" ^O^;;
Man, this post is all over the place huh? Well I guess that's just because I'm excited that some stuff has started happening beyond me wondering what the frick is going on….and Charlie and Locke have essentially kissed and made up, which is what I've been waiting for a long time.
But uh....why did he have to stand guard??
-
Probably in case the black fog came to attack him.. or something, I mean isn't the fog the islands gaurdian?
Not that Charlie can stop the fog -.-But maybe it's just so that no one would walk in and interupt him while he was having his visions. I'm glad they're using Boone as a messenger angel type of a character now, he was a good character with potential.

I wait about a day to stop using them, since I'm on the East Coast, but I agree.
By the way, do you download them from a certain place, or do you just search for them? I'm going to miss the next one.
-
I use a torrent via the software Bit Comet. I usually search from www.torrentspy.com And a few hours after the broadcast it will be up.
You know…I never missed commercials SO much. Episodes are over so fast T^T
-
This little mini-arc has been so fufilling, its frightening. A vast majority of the negatives that the 2nd Season brought were vanquished within the first 3 episodes. What an amazing TV show. vie
Just wondering, but how many people think that Juliet is going to vie with Ben for head honcho by manipulating the survivors of Flight 815 to her advantage?

Torrentspy definately works, but you have to wait about a day for the results to get to the top, if you want it as soon as possible (and dont care if it's a bit off sync with the volume or something, which is rare anyway) then check mininova.org wednesday nights an hour after it ends.
-
The episode was rather… it failed to keep up my interest. But it had a lot good things in it too.
Anyway, what did happen to the invisible t-rex defence system thingy? Have I forgot it altogether or has the creators forgot it altogether? We haven't "seen" it in a while, I think. I have probably become really absent-minded anyway because for a while I thought the leader dude of the hippie camp was Zeke. :getlost:
It's almost too good to be true but the guy who plays Sawyer will have a part in Command & Conquer 3 too!
-
Personally I was pretty let-down by this episode. I'm glad to see Locke back in his element, but it didn't seem like his flashback was relevent to anything aside from this episode specifically. They still haven't answered what happened to the guys in the hatch, and then they throw on top this bizarre comic book superpower that Desmond has gained from the implosion? I'm going to need to see it utilized in a very cool way before that twist wins me over. As of right now it just seems hackneyed.
-
Well I gather that Locke's flashback was shown as a way to introduce why he was always ina wheelchair. This was just the first part because they didn't really finish the whole "Family" story, especially since they stopped it just after letting that cop go at gun point.
-
but it didn't seem like his flashback was relevent to anything aside from this episode specifically
I woke up this morning and while savoring the taste left in my mouth it suddenly hit me that while the episode was seven different colors of awesome resulting in a sugar-sweet rainbow of awesomeness that is Lost Season 3 Episode 3, I suddenly recalled the flashback and it hit me like a 2x4 to the groin:
What the hell was the point of that?
In fact, that's what I've felt about every flashback this season thus far. (even though it was fun seeing Jack turning KUHRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY)
I've reached the conclusion that they simply cannot suck this much, especially in a season where we're supposed to drift to different charaters including Others.
I have a feeling there's something bigger planned for each of them, especially Locke's flashback. Eko's remark was very strong and we have yet to see the conclusion there or the result of that conclusion.
Oh, Geronimo Jackson, hyuck hyuck.
