Well, I'm not into guys. And believe it or not, my avatar's a guy.
@Bad-Beat:
Ok now for the episode itself…
! Alex's Dad is Ben? But we are to believe her Mother is Danielle Rousseau, big can of worms here. She has only been on the island for less then 20 years while Ben has been on there all his life! And the characters we so coy about the subject as well.
I assume he's the guy who raised Alex (since she was kidnapped when still a baby), not her biological father..unless Danielle's story is wrong. We know she's nuts, but the baby part makes sense.
Besides, in my case I tend to get too lost in girls eyes and lips to notice little imperfections.
There's no true beauty without some "imperfection" in one's characteristics. Her nose just makes her more sexy, that's all.
@Bad-Beat:
and also..
! Juliet. I don't think DHARMA (It's pretty safe to say that's who Ethan and the other guy were there representing) want her for her medical skills. Me thinks she has some otehr ability, she said she wanted him under a bus, her sister was having trouble getting pregnant but she managed to make it happen, that they find useful. That's pure speculation on my part but we do know that they partake in those fields. (Remember the orientation video, hmm?).
That does seems pretty plausible. But my vote still goes for DHARMA simply killing off her ex to get her.
Thats fuckin
television right there.
She has only been on the island for less then 20 years while Ben has been on there all his life!
She could be raised to think otherwise but with Ben you never know. It could be complete bullshit.
I mean….if before this episode you told me Ethan was being CREEPY in Miami, I would never have believed it.
Ethan is a creep; I am glad he's dead. Go Charlie! Charlie is my favourite character.

If that's true, I hope we'll also see where Locke and Sayid are going. Both of them are my faves to watch.
Er…

Well that sucks for the airport. They'll be the ones to pay for that mistake.
Haha, a gif (SPOILERS!)
!
…. I think I just found myself a new avatar.
Hahaha.
If it weren't spoilerific and huge I'd use it xD
Should have an 'OWNED' sign right there. :)
That was so weird how
! Desmond had the psychic powers even before the Swan imploded? I was surprised to see Charlie in his flashback, too.

And for anyone that says it won't happen:
Unless the writers have Desmond sacrifice his own life for him or something, but even then W$^&$@#^#$&U#$YUHRE No, it's decided, they writers were just nice enough for once to give us advance warning so we can make peace with him.
I dunno what it is but thank you for keeping it in spoiler tags.
I totally forgot today was download day.
Episode has aired, but I'm tagging it for the West Coast people.
! While Desmond was knocked out after he turned the key, he relived his life. He tried to change things, but a woman told him that everything he was going to do, (pushing the button, ect.) was SUPPOSED to happen.
! He uses his ability to save Claire, however he was really saving Charlie. Charlie's fate is to die.
EDIT: One last thing.
Spoiler alert.
! LOST IS BACK
What. The. Fuck.
The last 5 minutes of Lost was, by a reasonable margin, the biggest mindfuck I've experienced on a show that has mysterious hatches, creepy sequence of numbers, polar bears on a tropical island, magnetic disturbances, and an old wooden slave ship in the middle of a fucking jungle.
Wow.
In the words of Hurley: "Dude…"
Also
! That little preview just opened a can of worms. So the kidnapped are all ok. And with one mentioning "we're here to watch" I'm already thinking the series'll end with the Losties becoming the new Others. Hope that's not how it turns out.
Why is it always me?
I swear to fuckin' bloody hell.
Sixth Sense: OMFG BRUCE WAS DEAD!!!
Bleach: OMFG! THE VILLAIN IS AIZEN!!!
Fight Club: THEY'RE THE SAME PERSON!!!
etc. etc.
These supposed amazing events that surprise and shock people worldwide.
Why am I always the one who has to be the asshole that says:
"I knew that was coming."
When I saw the Lost Moments I knew there wasn't anyone besides Charlie he could have been saying that to. I totally expected that. I hate being the snug sunuvabitch who has to say it, especially when I have multiple orgasms over scenes likes last week's intro that other people yawn at.
As for him trying to save Charlie as opposed to Claire/the baby, that I didn't see, that was cool, but that one line that was supposed to be the shocker. ugh.
As for Charlie's fate. Fans were pretty critical of him last season but…I don't think he'll kick it. He's one of the characters that just BEGS for resolution at the end of this whole thing.
One of the big themes is science versus fate/faith. And fate is ripe for an ass-beating.
Nooo! Charlie!
Why can't Sayid get it instead? I have had enough of that guy.
Still, it'll be interesting to see if Charlie manages to cheat death for the rest of season 3. But I swear, it's starting to smell like Final Destination. Was I the only one who noticed that?

Whoa whoa whoa.. wtf? Care to explain your little hate-mongering? What's wrong with Sayid? He's done nothing but help the little castaways, and faced tragic loss and loss of romance (the one good thing that did seem to happen in his life) over the damn island.

Maybe he just didnt like the character Sayid? Like, I dont like Kate very much.
Yes but every single one of Kate's flashback scenes makes it perfectly clear she's a bitch and you're supposed to hate her.
The only reason I can think of people hating Sayid is because he's the "terrorist"… and that's what pisses me off.
I find it interesting that when Desmond warps to the past, it's because he lost consciousness at the hatch.
So how does Desmond get back? He gets knocked out again.
Also, Charlie's song lyrics.
"Because maybe, you're gonna be the one who saves me…"

Way to put words in people's mouths.:getlost:
Desmond is so awesome! I can't wait to see him involved in the story more!
That's why I asked for an explanation instead of putting words in his/her mouth, but then when everyone else got defensive I explained myself.

What if I said I hated Jack?

Explanation is, he said he's had enough of Sayid. Sayid's tied for my number one Losty, so I don't know why he feels that way. It'd prolly be vice versa for him if I said I've had it with one of his favorites. Just opinions; don't take it personal.

Katana, killer find with the lyrics.
Here's my biggest question…was he really in the past? Or was it like he said, just his subconscious speaking? I say time and again Lost has one foot in reality and one....somewhere else....but I dunno if they'd go as far as actual time travel.
Flashes of the future I can swallow, but actual travel through time? Dunno if they'd go that far.
Whatever the fuck is going on with Desmond (is it he in a never ending time-loop or does he just see the future?), this episode was by far my favorite of the season thus far. I really want more of the main Islanders, but the preview makes it look like we're back to the satellite island again…
@IT'S:
But I swear, it's starting to smell like Final Destination. Was I the only one who noticed that?
Actually, the movie i had in mind seeing this whole Desmond situation and its implications was Donnie Darko..
Anyway..this episode totally brought me back into Lost again, after a not so great come back last week.

My take on this situation is the following:
If it is indeed time travel, with a good explanation I wouldn't mind it, ESPECIALLY because throughout the entire part were we meet the old lady, I was screaming "Holy SHIT, That's how his girlfriend knows to look for him!!!!!"
If it's all in his mind, the writers can suck my left nut, (especially in the case Charlie really dies and this is the explanation) because it's been done with Hurley, Walt and various other characters.
Going back to the time travel thing, if Desmond really does time travel, then for me, that would be the BEST explanation as to why his girlfriend was able to track him and explain the entire scene at the end of season 2. Otherwise there is no concievable way for her to track him.
Now consider the following scenario, Desmond travels back in time, explains to her whats going on, and she places some kind of tracking device on him this time around.
Now I know you're thinking "why not just marry her and ignore this entire situation this time around?" but maybe what the old lady said is correct, and the button really did save the world for 3 years.
So I'm sticking by the time travel explanation, because it would explain FOR ME how he sees both the future (whereas hits on the head wouldn't) and how his gf tracked him.
Flashes of the future I can swallow, but actual travel through time? Dunno if they'd go that far.
I'm pretty sure that it was just Desmond's flashback, and he had his powers before the Swan imploded. We just never knew about it untill now. Becasue I honestly doubt the writers would put that much sci-fi into the mix.
To me, the only hole with Desmond actually time travelling in this episode is that it took a cricket bat to the noggin to send him back. Too much like a dream sequence then.
Best episode for ages. I swear there is too much emphasis on the other island lately. Needs more Locke, Sayid, Charlie etc….
Desmond rocks what an awesome character he is and time travelling just tops it off.
! So I take it charlie's going to die and nothing can stop it
Becasue I honestly doubt the writers would put that much sci-fi into the mix.
My thoughts exactly. Lost is spiritual, but not straight out SF. Besides, we know that the island and the others are linked to psychic study. This could be the beginning of their explanation for things that Walt is capable of and why they were so interested in him.
In fact…if it were time travel, I`m sure they have an explanation for it but it would kill the series for me. Going all Quantum Leap and shit.

I loved that show after watching it on TV Land. But yeah, wouldn't work for Lost.

Are we watching the same show???
Lost is sci fi for the mainstream, there's no "spirituality" in it, in fact the only character that deals AT ALL with spirituality is Locke. The rest have to do with drugs, psychosis, scientific expirimentation, social behaviorism and magnetic elements > Sci Fi.

That so? Here're some spiritual moments that've appeared throughout the show:
Eko the priest; his occupation automatically makes him one of, if not the most spiritual character on the show. Most of this man's life was about spirituality.
Charlie was having visions telling him to get Aaron baptized.
The Other that Sun killed, Colleen, was given a funeral with all the Others dressed in Hindu-styled robes.
And Ben himself has his proof to believe in God when a spinal surgeon fell from the sky soon after his tumor was discovered.
I guess you're the one watching a different show.
One of the main points of the show is the conflict between science and religion. While one person believes they should let the answers come to them, another thinks they should find them themselves. Both science and faith are key points to the show, part of the whole black and white thing.

Charlie was on drugs, it was a funeral, zomg evil clothes = spirituality, Ben is insane.
I'll admit Eko is also quite spiritual, and due to his quick death I won't explore the possibility that he suffered from mental breakdowns much like Hurley does, although the black fog isn't spiritual IMO.
1 character that is deeply spiritual remains, talking birds, polar bear experiments, 4 toed statues etc = Watered down Sci Fi. My argument stands, Desmond did indeed time travel.
One of the main points of the show is the conflict between science and religion.
Bingo. That is the biggest theme in the show so far.
Being spiritual doesn't instantly mean being a strick Christian.
It means just having faith in something beyond yourself.
People all around the world have faith and are spiritual, it doesn't necessarily mean a Western Christian.
My argument stands, Desmond did indeed time travel.
Yar, 'cause we all know a cricket bat in the hands of a hooligan can send a man back to his original time naked.
Oh lord, go watch Heroes.
If Desmond is the one controling the time travel, and not some omnipotent being, then YES losing his concentration by something like a FUCKING BAT would send him back to his own time.
Oh man, Heroes. The show where the script/actors are so bad you can actually see the word bubbles as the characters speak.
Lost's problem is its angst-fest moments.
"Kate! How could you open that can of tuna!!!?"
"But Jack!! I had to!!!"
"No Kate! You didn't!!!"
But at least they're good at angst and acting in general.
Especially Hiro's friend. Jesus Christ. When he and Sulu were on screen at the same time both talking SHIT Japanese I almost stuck a spoon in my ear.
Not to hate on Heroes. I watch it. Much like 24.

…and ending up naked too? You lost me there.
Lost has never dealt with super powers before (I know it seems like Walt materialized that bird in season 1, but right now, for all we know it was a coincidence), so with Desmond's "time travel" episode and his newfound clairvoyance right now it looks like the writers are pulling a deus ex machina. To me, it makes more sense to say it was a dream seasoned with deja vu.
Sorry if I hit a nerve. I just can't see the show headed down such an unreal path when it's been shown that Lost is in the real world.
@Janken:
…and ending up naked too? You lost me there.
If desmond time traveled, upon the end of his time travel he would return to the point where he began his journey = when the hatch blew up.
Hatch blew up and lets hypothetically say "burned his clothes off" but he activated the time travel and saved himself somehow.
Look man I dunno, I've seen enough sci fi and read enough comics for this to make sense in my mind, but "spiritual answers" in a watered down sci fi just dont have a place in the show imo.
