Brooke has nothign to do with BB.
An overanalysis of BB's Yami Yami Fruit
-
-
Or does he? Dun duh DUH! No I'm jk. He has nothing to do with BB at all.
-
This is pure logic.
1. Ace is a little more stronger than Gear 1 Luffy and has got the Mera Mera Fruit, thanks to it we can compare him with a Gear 2 Luffy.
2. Blackbeard can nulify Ace fruit.
3. The conclusion is that Ace fought Blackbeard with a power a little more better than Gear 1 Luffy or perhaps the same power.
Blackbeard plan is very good, he knows that a lot of top guys haven´t mastered their physical strenght because they got a powerful devil fruit, the only difference here is Luffy who mastered his fightning experience in intensive battles.
"Do you remember the last time when someone touch you?" This is the exact part of the fight were Ace became useless, he lost the advantage against BB.

@$abZ:
You've misunderstood.
The first thing that came to my head at the time. I believe I read Chapter 443 BEFORE you created this thread.
My bad abZ. Sorry for the misinterpretation
I'd like to add that Black Holes use Gravity and Dark Matter. So even if not shown, I'd like to point out that either the black "stuff" that is the energy he's using is Dark Matter causing the gravity shift.
Good point. Dark matter/ Dark energy does explain the origin of the name Darkness Fruit better than my earlier guess work. I think it's a fair prediction that we'll be seeing some dark matter attacks in black beards repetoire in the future. A "Dark Matter Wave" attack would be rather ominous.
For those unaware, dark matter is matter in deep space that does not emit or reflect light or radiation but can be shown to exist by its gravitational effect on other, visible, matter. Dark matter is thought to make up a large majority of all mass in the universe.
My understanding of the science is that dark matter and black holes are not directly related. Black holes are intense gravity wells created by the collapse of a star (in otherwords, made from regular matter.) Dark matter isn't even based on atoms. It's just there taking up space and screwing with astronomers.
This raises the question of whether the Yami Yami is based on dark matter or black holes. Most likely it wil be an amalgamation of the gravity effects of both with some added fantasy to keep things interesting.

It's gravity, and gravity can create black holes.

I'm very impressed (or scared) of the initial post regarding Blackbeard's powers. Cheers, boiga!
As for the side discussion of Blackbeard's power versus Luffy, I think it's a pretty important thing to mention that Luffy never showed his devil fruit power at all to anyone in Mock Town. It means that Blackbeard and his crew do not know of his abilities. Furthermore it proves that Luffy is badass even without his rubber abilities. I mean, he knocked Bellamy the f**k out with his basic strength, reflexes and combat instinct alone.
He didn't use some fancy ability stuff like Ace have been relying on for a long time. I'm not saying Ace is weak at all, but Luffy's devil fruit relies on his close combat prowess unlike most other DFs. If Blackbeard's ability is really powerful because it can nullify strong DF abilities, Luffy's power isn't based on (but amplified by) the Gomu Gomu fruit so from empirical evidence he rocks at close combat even without it. Blackbeard might not expect that, and that surprise could be his undoing.
-
I'm expecting the BB vs. Luffy encounter to be a super brawl. I hate to say this, but I think it'll be similar to Luffy's fight w/ Lucci, in that it's just a matter of whose stamina holds out the longest.
-
It's going to have to be seeing as how BB can't let hits phase through him, and Luffy won't be able to stretch if BB has a handle on him. Although with Gear 2 I think Luffy will think of something. Yeah, but it's pretty going to be a one on one fight between these two with fists flying.
-
Maybe Luffy will finally put on gloves and attach Sea Stone to the ends of them and fight that way.
-
Dude, you don't have to respond to EVERY topic everytime you get online…
Anyway, Luffy would never force himself to rely on weapons or any type of gimmick other than those created from the use of his own body (Gears). Plus the seastone would affect him if he wore some, making it kind of pointless.
-
I'm sure if he wanted to Luffy would be able to use a seastone weapon without being affected. After all Smoker carries that weapon with him and seems to have no problem with it.
-
Now see? This is where I think Luffy's gear 2 and 3 will really come into play, more so on gear 3 because of the massive powers it has. now granted luffy's chibbified, but I'm sure it'd throw BB for a loop, or even two loops. :P\
and yes for those nay sayers out there who think BB is still invincible, yes he CAN be hurt.
And I think if black beard absorbs more damage then he can handle then, just like if a real black hole, His power will disapate. (( See science post on page 1 if you dont' get me. :P))
-
Yeah, that's what I felt too. Maybe Zoro could pump him full of demon aura.
-
This post is deleted!
-
…perhaps, but remember BB isn't really darkness, it's more like gravity and void.

Oda isn't a scientist. Using scientific material does little good, so I don't even bother trying to justify how things work in One Piece. Essentially Oda will make up something and it'll become reality.
I do kinda cringe everytime a new power is explained poorly, which happens several times each arc.
Trajectory is the calculation of exact distance between two points, based on all the factors involved with the projectile.
Trajectory is the path (an arc in most cases). The distance is the magnitude of a linear vector from one point to the other. Sorry, I saw it and had to correct it Other than that, Ace, you're one of the most reasonable people I've seen since I started reading the forums.
-
Oda knows alot about science 'n stuff, though. He knew that Giraffes were related to cows.

@Rai:
Ah.. Okay, thanks for the explenation.
Still, shouldn't Luffy be able to do this even easier with what I said? It's like he throws a rock, and even I can do that with a little training.
It's weird I always though this was obvious that Luffy's body has rubber attributes with the same attributes all the times without his control. It's even weirder to me when someone else says Luffy can control his rubber.Oh.. I just remebered something. Isn't there an [a?] SBS with Oda's answer about what type of rubber Luffy is, and Oda said natural rubber?
Dunno if it helps the argument though, but I clearly remember that one.Rai check out the anime episode 217 (its also in the recapp in 218)
the scene im thinking of is after luffy throws his first punch foxy slows his fist. the result beeing Luffy extending more arm then there is distance to cover between his shoulder and his fist (the arm then shows a wave pattern).
this is just my opinion but this suggests to me that Luffy isnt extending by muscleforce atleast not force alone.other suggestion of controll: the screw attack he uses against Mohji's pet lion "Richie", he twists his arms around themselves and then holds them there.
does the same in the anime episode of the race around long island to power his barrel/boat (he doesnt in the manga though) think he uses an attack called windmill in the arlong arc where he twists his body instead.gomu gomu no whip is also an attack where he extends and maintains lenght.
isnt gomu gomu no octopuss rather apearant use of non muscled power extention of his limbs?
in gomu no fuusen (ballon) he inflates himself, is he using the diafragm to inhale air and inflate himself or is he expanding himself to create an underpressure that sucks in air? he would have a mean singing voice if it was the first =P
i have very seldom seen luffy overextend himself. when he does he usually has a follow up move like scythe used against buggy.
if he did use musclepower he would like to hit as hard as he possibly can, and would mean maximum extention. that would mean that for example gatteling gun would loose speed everytime it missed.also its my personal opinion that if he had no controll over expanding at will the negative extention (then he pulls his hands back behind him) in both bullet and bazooka would be meaningless. the way i see it to retract his arms into their original state would diminish the energy and speed of his hit untill all the kinetic energy wasted to do that in the first place is used up. however this might be a bit fuzzy physics (on my part).
I cant be sure but i very much would like to belive Luffy has consious power over his abilities. but then again this is the oda universe. his world his rules.
