My sentiments exactly. More than ever, I'd rather see "Kinnikuman" get licensed before I plan to see "Kinnikuman Nisei" all over again (both unedited of course). I mean, how could you resist this?:
. Oops, looks like I'm getting off topic. Does anyone know if there's a Kinnikuman/Kinnikuman Nisei thread on this site?
Anyway, Enigma, where have you been? That site's been around for a while (but it just went under construction this week), and the info that's posted there is basically cut-and-paste from the "Future of One Piece" thread that's on the Anime section of this site. And in these later episodes 4Kids has indeed lightened up compared to the first season, but whether it has to do with fan complaints is up to speculation at the moment. It could be that they realized FOX could let them get away with more.
Speaking of which, 4Kids producer John Kalish sent out a message to fans to quell their nerves when they first announced they acquired the series. You know the drill. "We will only be making the necessary amount of edits in order to air the show, we still want to honor the original spirit of the series". Blah, blah, blah. I didn't quote anything, but that's basically some of what he said. With the exception of Kalish saying Toei Animation has approved all the voice actors, I'd say it was a big white-lie to get the fans to shut up, and to a certain extent it worked.
nah, kinnikuman is too old school for america. Itd be like releasing hokuto no ken. its too graphic by todays standards and the animation quality woud be a turn off for many. Itd end up like lupin III real fast.(As in in gigantors 4 AM time slot)
Id say do nisei, at least continue it. i didnt mind the dub of that show(still own the GC game because the voices are THAT entertaining.
I even liked how they changed butt buster back to kinniku buster realizing their stupid decision. Ultimate muscle was the reason I watched foxbox when I was 12.
On topic: Id say leave one piece dead here in the US. its already blacklisted as a kiddie series. I mean alot of people on the online anime community find it kiddy, despite the offline only ones.
Id rather just leave it be. That way we can still enjoy the quality subs that are released with no fear of them being prosecuted legally. I mean thats what all of us were gonna do anyways.
Let the 4kids one die and that will be the end of it in america.
