We did? Is that a specific reference?
As Coookie said, when Nacht took Asta to his house we see a family portrait with two kids.

Yay, Nacht backstory. We needed it.

! Next Black Bull meeting.
Yami: So the Agrippa family had deals with Megicula, the Faust family worshiped Lucifero, Asta's mom adopted a devil. Any other member with a devil relation that I need to know? Zora, Magma? Grey?
Any good demon has it's fingers in several pies.
Black Clover is getting a movie.

! Asta for the Hail Mary.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Glad we're getting a film! I hope Yoshihara Tatsuya is directing, I want to see him and his young animators really go all-out.

! Oh they are Liebe's old acquaintances.
Did Asta just pulled a "Psyche!"?
A Song of Ice and Fire - but with more magic and less incest.

Yay! Magna and Zora finally appear.
Also lmao. Oh Asta. Never change.
! Glad this demon(s) didn't last too long. They're in the way.
If the fight and the way their abilities worked were more dished out… This way it lasted too long.
They got nothing on Zagred. Bland powers, bland personalities, bland execution...
Magma Swing

Yaaasss. Magna. Perfect thuggery spell.
Magna you beautiful boy!
That magic felt a bit like an asspull. It would have been better if it was the effect of a trap from Sora instead of a new Magna skill.
It has a magic seal, and they could not do it during the previous fight because they weren't ready, two characteristics of a Zora spell.
The spell itself scream Made by Zora TM, the conditions of the spell scream Magna was the two brain cells behind it.
Damn, this was such a cool way to make Magna relavent while not making every character massively OP. I enjoyed this one chapter more than any of Asta's last fight.
My prediction is that even if magna wins, it is stalling the demon dude, as the spell has to end at some point, and at that time he can even revive himself. Zora has to pull another seal to actually finish the fight, probably magna will have to protect him while in the grudge match.
So magna has to keep the spell going for as long as possible (self sacrifice being a nono because that theoretically would also end the spell, or at least let the devil dude attack Zora) while keeping Zora safe for the cast of the final seal, and probably the integrity of this spell.

Manliest magic I've seen!
Well since they trained together, makes sense Magna could have been inspired.
If this was some other author, Magna would have been shown burning filler demons, but Tabata's heart is in the right place.
Manly Magna mans it up. Flame chain deathmach and burning brass knuckles. Good shit right there!
Yeah, I'm loving this more than anything since the end of the first war. The Magna+Zora combo is excellent
So it really was a Zora + Magna skill, in a way. He said one time use, I wonder if that means he can't use it again or just means he can't use it twice in a fight because it needs months of preparation.
Magnaaaa! I dunno if that'll keep the dude down, but I imagine Zora has a finisher to help.

My understanding is the latter. It takes 6 months to be able to use it so it can only be used once.
That would be a bit to underwhelming if it can be used on every bosses so it is better this way.
I just can't see Magna dealing a decisive blow to Dante but he can definitely soften him up a little. Possible scenario: Once the death match chains are gone Dante will be blinded by rage because a peasant gave him such trouble, which is the perfect setup for Zora to like 4x deflect one of his big spells back onto him and at least put him out of commission for a while.
Yeah, I feel like for plot's sake poor Magna won't take Dante down completely. That will probably be left to either Asta or Yuno.
Doesn't make Magna any less cool.
Asta already took the guy out once. I would love if the other guys get to surpass their limits in a way that is meaningful to the action.
I'm fine if peasant team, Magna+Zora+Jack, pegged Dante down a notch. Since his fight with Asta and Yami, or better since the attacks of the triad, Zenon seem to be the actual threat of them.
Yuno hasn't taken down any of the Big 3 yet, so it will probably be:
Dante - Yuno
Zenon - Asta
Vanica - Noelle
Magna, I'm so proud!
Ahh well done Magna!
Magna is the king of Jump for the year. No character has moved me more.
Magna is a better Rock Lee than Rock Lee!
What an amazing end of a chapter! One of the best underdog fight ever.
Okay that was an amazing chapter.
Can't wait to see this glorious moment animated. Magna truly is the gutsiest man among them all!

Hey your showing that you didn't read the REAL Naruto.
Ya know. Magna is an honorable little punk. I like that he probably could have made the spell so that maybe the magic ratios flipped fully. But instead he made it so that his opponent and he are equals.
I wonder if this scene was pivotal to Magna's growth of power or it was just there for shit and giggles.
Kinda hard to tell. Maybe it helped. He didn't really fall behind til the special squad thing.
But someone pointed out he seems to have a wider range of spell types than some of the others. Just less output.
I'm guessing that altering the ratios would have made the process a lot more complicated as opposed to a relatively simple 50/50 concept. Which was still complicated as fuck.
Plus he's a man's man!
What IS the status of the anime, after they stopped it in March?

Well of course not–the real Naruto was the friends we made along the way ;-)
I don't know if this is talked about enough, but I for one FREAKING LOOOVE how the new generation of mangaka are evolving the tried and true (and tired?) Shonen tropes that paved the way for them. Female characters in action Shonen are no longer useless "main character-kun" generators; and a low-power, guts-based character is given respect by the story and weight to carry on the level of his/her peers!
It's awesome!
Just in case you didn't read it, here's what he meant. :ninja:

I just love good old characters aren't moved to side and simply used as cheap fanservice here and there. Top shonen do it so regularly, that when you come across something like this, it's honestly refreshing.

Real Naruto was Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth.
