Eiichiro Oda will take two weeks break due to sudden illness (Resume on Oct 16th)

If Oda has recovered then great, but I really do hope he's not pushing himself

We do know the dude hates to sleep.
So whatever he is doing it probably ain't resting
-
Yeah, I remember him saying that he is the most creative when sleep-deprived. You know, the point when you wrestled fatique and tiredness, and you start to feel fine again, but now there are also some voices around that may or may not be real.
-
good to hear that he is doing well :>
-
I’ll never believe this perpetual sleep deprivation. Either he’s lying, or his body for some reason is not able to generate sleep

Yes, sorry, I'm not English, I learn this langage. Sorry for mistranslations ;)
-
Eiichiro Oda already recovered (currently) and in good physical condition
Good news, I am glad that he is okay.
But he really needs to think over his work schedule…
If he can't keep up anymore, than Oda shouldn't promise anything to the fans in the future.
We will understand his limits and we won't be disappointed. -
Oda should continue after Wano with one week a chapter then a break, chapter again and break again.
Just to stay safe and get some good times with family before he finishes this series. -
I highly doubt that Shueisha would allow this, but my wishful thinking would like for Oda to have another 1 month break once the final curtain closes on Wano arc just like timeskip back then. It would be better for him to revitalize in a big way so he can come back fresher, hopefully with less breaks, more consistency on chapter releases schedule, back to 19 pages per chapter like how he used to, and better art quality (Not saying that the art is bad. It's acceptable, but man was his art miles better back then).
-
I too think biweekly is the best route for Oda.
-
According to M+ database, there is no break for Chap 993. we will confirmed that later.
-
The publishers ought to make more use of the 5 or more extra chapters they are storing up. At least one. They never do, it seems, even with irregular pauses. I think that's bloody annoying. Non-Japanese publishers would, I bet, this seems to be some Japanese stubbornness and love of routine (one kind of routine, but not another that's also important).
And a "double issue" that's actually what the name suggests should be a real thing and would be a great idea/event. But no.And regarding Oda I have long thought he should adapt in this way (and think it will actually become more likely in the future): he shouldn't put all emphasis in his storytelling and chapter structure on "waiting for the next chapter"… Which evidently, and as he indirectly admitted once, he thinks is the coolest kind of storytelling, but I think it's... not.
-
This is great news. The fights are gonna be sooo good.

Do you have a better image? I think it says something about a new anime special, but I can't quite read it well.

(and 2020 doesn't deserve such a milestone anyway…)
