EDIT: Wait, wrong thread!
The 7th and final season of Agents of Shield will premier a month from now. There's a trailer out, but I haven't watched it yet. What's another four weeks at this point? I have high hopes that they bring the show to a glorious end. They've already managed to do that at least twice.
PSA (for Nectar).
Agents of Shield S7 premieres tonight. My roommate and I want to watch the final season together, so I'll have to wait another day to see it ;_;
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
First the Mockingbird/Hunter spin-off and now this. No one wants to take a chance on anything closely connected to Agents of Shield.
Quoting you now just in case. :P
Agents of Shield S7 Ep1 - The New Deal
An entertaining table-setting episode
! I don't know, it was good. No mind-blowing twists that I've come to expect, but it is only the first episode after all. The reveal that we'll presumably be working to save Hydra for the entire season (or maybe just for now) was more amusing than shocking.
! The most interesting things so far are Simmons and Coulson. The former has really doubled down on the ruthlesness, at least when dealing with Chronicoms. She insinuates to Daisy that they've been seperated for a very long time, so I feel like Fitz and/or her have had run-ins with Chronicoms during that time. Or she's just mad about the whole stealing of her brain part of it all. But the little smirk Simmons gave when the Chronicom wouldn't speak and she could proceed to torture him…that sure was something.
Chronicoms
! Coulson is being Coulson but with more robot parts. He takes advantage of that. His scene with Daisy about 'his' letter to her was great. And I also enjoyed his talk with Mack where they both agreed that the Coulson LMD might have a limited life expectancy. Good directoring by Mack in general.
! Deke was doing Deke things which was fun, but maybe that's why Fitz chose to remain in another period. If that's when he is.
! And May was doing things that I don't fully comprehend. I don't think she should see Enoch as an enemy from what she knows. So maybe something bad happened to her and/or she needs time to adjust. Oh, that reminds me of Yo-Yo's new arms. God, that was a fantastic little scene. And I also liked her initial refusal.
! So, now I wonder if we'll be saving Hydra for maybe two or three episodes (just so they could be a part of the final season) and then the Chronicoms will get tired of it and try another crucial moment at another point in time. That way we could have some more fun with time travel and adjusting to the environment. Maybe just one other era would be enough though.
! I almost forgot about Koenig's 'cameo'. That was cute.
! Edit: I did forget the amazing title card! Made me guffaw.
Thanks for the heads-up, Huschel. I forget all about it. Lol
Do you guys think Quicksilver will come back in the WandaVision tv show?
I mean it seems like Vision will so why not her brother
WandaVision might deal with other realities based on her abilities from the comics. The trailer from some months back hints at that as well. If that Evan Peters report is true, then that is interesting. Him and Quicksilver from Ultron were both in Kick Ass and now that Disney has bought Fox, it isn't out of this realm to think he plays Quivksilver despite it being obvious. They could mix it up and he plays someone totally different tho
Agents of Shield S7 Ep2 - Know Your Onions
And once again, AoS moves
as fast as I expected. I don't know why I'm still surprised.! So yeah, looks like NY in 1931 was only a two-episode stint. Which is fine, but I really wish we could have gotten a teaser of their next destination. The random and unpredictable time jump windows are a neat device. Although it might be too much to rely on that artificial tension too often.
! The Malick storyline was only okay. I didn't really care for him. It's also alarming that Deke just blatantly disregarded an order from director Mack. Daisy being hypocritical isn't much of a surprise at this point, but don't let her infect the other agents, please.
! Enoch was too slow to get onto the Tardis, but as long as their traveling forward in time that really shouldn't matter. He's been on Earth for a while. They make it seem like Koenig will be responsible for the creation of Shield to some extent. At this point, I'm expecting the team to skip ahead step by step so we can observe how Shield came to be. That must be the overall plot of the season/series, right? So give us Agent Carter sooner rather than later, okay?
! For the first couple minutes I straight up forgot that Coulson was an LMD. He certainly brings a new dynamic to the team though which is pretty cool.
! What's up with May? Just your casualneardeath experience? I don't see how it would be anything else/supernatural, but I don't know. YoYo is also dealing with some issues of her own and she blames the Shrike for it. I blame the show having to spend a lot of money on sets and costumes so they are limiting the use of Inhuman powers to compensate. I hope it's worth it!
Alright, finally saw the first episode of AoS's new season. Was it two hours long?
! Because I feel like they skipped a lot of stuff. Did the episode start around when LMD Coulson was activated? Or, maybe it's because I don't remember much of last season's finale and stuff got explained then.
! Anyway, I liked the episode. All the characters (the main reason I watch the show) were on point and I like plot so far. Maybe all this time traveling will explain why the show isn't part of the MCU anymore. Oh well, the twist with Hydra was interesting. And, I'm kinda glad we don't have a Big Bad as most of them tend to be one-note. Not exactly high-level television but I'm entertained.

! Yeah, I wasn't liking how some of them seems racist against Chronicoms. They're better than that.
! Oh, yeah, Simmons is more rough now. I hadn't noticed. I guess that's a good thing.
! And Deke wasn't annoying to me so points there.
! Not sure how many episodes this season has but by the pacing I guess it's a short one.

Lol replacing her brother with an alternate version of him from another well known movie franchise would be weird as hell
then again isn't that basically what Kingpin was trying to do in Into The Spider Verse?
and Scarlet Witch will be in the new Doctor Strange movie which is named Multiverse Madness
Elizabeth Henstridge did a
on YouTube and was joined via Zoom by Chloe Bennet. It didn't really work out as a watch-along, but it was still pretty entertaining (I watched it after the fact, anyway). And later a whole lot of the cast and producers came as well. She's doing it again for episode 3 today. :)
Agents of Shield S7 Ep3 - Alien Commies from the Future!
This one was pretty great. I'm enjoying this time period more than the last one.
! It really feels like the writers are just doing whatever they want in their final season. And more so than usual. The wonderful new title card speaks to that.
! It's good to have it confirmed that we will only be traveling forward in time. That means every step gets us closer to the end-point. Which is the destruction of the Chronicoms maybe? How will Shield keep riding their coat-tails once they've been dealt with? I suppose, the agents will acquire the needed technology.
! I'm glad that Mack pulled rank on Daisy even though I wasn't entirely convinced that she won't do something similar again in the future. Deke confronting her about her actions was more helpful, I think. That was a good scene in general and we learned that Deke has changed on a more profound level after he traveled back in time (the first time).
! It was pretty brutal to see May panic like that. That has never ever happened and it's scary. YoYo is also still dealing with her own troubles. I hope it will actually be adressed next episode.
! Souza! Yay, Enver Gjokaj. I don't remember the details exactly, but I know that S2 of Agent Carter ended on a cliffhanger. And it feels like AoS might have alluded to picking that thread back up when Souza and Daisy were talking in his office. Not sure. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in the next episode before we may or may not jump again. I suppose the threat of this particular era has already been dealt with so a new jump shouldn't be too far off. Or it's 7 years off, who knows?
! The Chronicoms have a new leader/prophet person which is quite peculiar. Why is there only one of her and why can't they program more of them like that? Also, what's Fitz been up to?
! So what was that prolonged final shot of 'unconscious' Coulson about? His eyes flickered at the end but what does that tell us? Oh, that reminds me. The testing for emotional responses was pretty cute. But I found it strange that LMD/Chronicom Coulson was able to test for potential Chronicoms. I will assume that his Coulson memories help with having a better handle on emotions than Aida did.

! I assumed the flicker was Chronicrom hacking him or taking over.
! Also he is basically Coulson so he knows emotion. Just see his response when he got awaken an started freaking out. The chronocroms are basically robots and Aida was also made to be a robot. They were all made to not feel and be logical while the Coulson one was made to be Coulson.

! I hope not. We just did evil Coulson last season.
! And yeah, that's probably what they are going for. Good point about him freaking out. But I think if Radcliffe had had the capability of giving Aida emotions, he would have. The whole point was to be indistinguishable from the real thing. At least for LMD May and onwards. So it can't just be that they decided to make Coulson differently. It's either the memories and/or more future technology.

! LMD May had a whole identity crisis had when she was made with real May memory which made her betray her real programming and the other robots because feelings. So LMD basically having feels because they are copies of real people is a thing. And if you add Chronocroms future stuff it about equals out I suppose.
! Radcliffe wasnt trying to make people . Considering they are made to die in the place of a real person it'd be f upped if he was. He just accidently made Aida too self-aware to do her job well (or the Darkhold did). Heck even when Aida was clearly mad at him he was still fairly convince on the whole LMDs are things don't waste time on attributing feelings to them.
! While I am glad May is getting back to normal I am wondering if the emotionless May is seeding something or is just a minor side effect of the revival process to not make it look easy. Also they better find Enoch again at some point.
Finished the second episode of the new season. It was good from a character aspect. Not sure about Freddy being called a "kid" when he looks in his upper 20's to me. May being weird was a thing, I guess. I just love May when she's acting more well-rounded instead of in Super Soldier mode.
Enoch's fate was interesting. If there was still a Peggy Carter series I'd love to see him in it. All in all, these episodes set up the season nicely but I still want more.
You need to catch up Nectar :P
Agents of Shield S7 Ep4 - Out of the Past
Ah, the Noir episode, staple of any long-running TV series. :ninja:
! I'll say it again, I love how they're just doing whatever they want at this point. Yeah sure, Coulson's colour perception is botched which is why everything's in black-and-white, there's people in long coats, we get a switcheroo and a guy getting shot into a pool while there's a lightning storm raging. We'll all just go with it and we'll have fun!
! Is Sousa on the team now? Are they not just gonna park him somewhere but actually take him with them? That would be cool.
! We get a sort of explanation about May. Evidently, being exposed to a realm without emotions has stripped her of her own. That's fantastically sad. Unless the end goal is to live a happy and unfeeling life with LMD Coulson, I really hope that can be fixed. Also, in the first episode of the season Enoch says: 'Agent May, if I may, you have not been yourself lately.' Sneaky writers.
! No new development concerning YoYo's abilities. I wonder what will help her overcome the issue. Is it actually (also) a physical condition because of the Shrike juice within her? It seems like it would be more of a psychological barrier that needs to be scaled somehow.
! Malick is back back back again. It's possible that we will follow his whole career throughout the years. Or his only purpose was to be in this era to convince Deke that he should have pulled the trigger. YoYo is also on that side of the argument because that's just how she is. I feel a mutiny coming up. Or at least a big fight similar to the end of S5 (save Coulson or stop Graviton). I would wish for Daisy to actually change her mind and be the deciding factor that helps stabilize the team. That might be good for her character.
! That's about it. I enjoyed the feel of this episode a whole lot. Next week will be episode 5 which is when Fitz got his own episode during S5. Seems likely that we will get that again this time. He's already missed a third of the season. I like the theories that the 'considerable amount' of time that Simmons had was at the very least 9 months and that Fitz is busy raising a future mother to a Deke.
! And if that's not next episode, then we'll be in the 70s, baby!
! That's it, that's everybody. Enoch, put me through to the Zephyr.
I caught up. Happy I did because these last two episodes were much better.
! Agent Sousa is a very welcome surprise (had no idea he was coming) and a good addition to the team (if they don't kill him off later). Glad we got to learn more about what happened to May but I have no idea how they'll fix it.
! It looks like the internet theory of Simmons being a LMD too is debunked because May read her emotions. I generally liked the team doing classic spy stuff again. Would love to see more of that.
! Loved the scenes with Deke and Yoyo. I don't remember those two interacting before so it's nice when they mix and match team members like that. Not sure if Daisy will mutiny like you said, Huschel. I hope not, but the whole Sousa situation at least means they can think outside the box in these ethical situations.
! Not sure where they're going with Yoyo's powers not working but she's so overpowered I can see her situation not getting resolved until the last episode. And, poor Enoch. They really don't give a damn about his feelings. I guess it's supposed to be funny and they couldn't save him in time but I wish they at least acknowledge they want him back and reassured him they'll reunite.

! Thank goodness we have Malick as one of the final bosses because I don't care about the Cronocons at all! No, not you Enoch, the rest of them.
! Speaking of the show doing what they want this season, I'd love to see Mockingbird and Hunter one last time.
I caught up. Happy I did because these last two episodes were much better.
Wonderful!

! Yeah, Malick would be more thematic of an enemy, for the season and the series. And the Chronicoms are just the framing device for that plot. Do you think we will see young Gideon (and Nathaniel) at some point? That could raise the question of murdering future villains again, but this time with more personal involvement. Bonus irony (?) points for Daisy killing Gideon eventually anyway :P
! But I hope Daisy won't mutiny. I feel like we've been over that already. I do see a split within the team happening with the cracks already being there.
S7 Ep4 The noir episode was really great entertain. The others were fine but this one was really good and made good use of the gimmick
! I'm glad Coulson was in charge of the feel cause he really nailed it down with his narration. And I love that move where he just take that guy's briefcase. I wonder how that new empath aspect will affect the story with May.
! Poor Enock really need the return of his best friend to get some real acknowledgement. It was kinda funny to see him slowly lost hope. I wonder if the bar went full disco and we could see him on roller skates.
! Seems like we are having some good old fashion hydra villains. I would think with out jump to the 70s that means a young Gideon. He hast to start being around considering how old he was in the first seasons. I wonder what the chronochroms will change to give them a leg up.
! I wasn't the biggest fan of s5 breakup of the team so if they want to mess with time I hope they do it together. No crazy conflicts that takes them episodes to fix. It's their last ride. Let it be as a united front.
Wonderful!

! I barely remember the Malicks, lol. But, I do want to see them again. And, I guess Ward may show up again. Can't believe I forgot about him too. But, yeah, there's so much potential with time travel tomfoolery from the bad guys I hope it's not wasted.
! Thank goodness Listen Up A-holes (a MCU podcast I listen to) is talking about season 3 now or I wouldn't remember Gideon at all.
I've already mentioned the watch parties hosted by Elizabeth Henstridge on YouTube which seem to be a weekly thing now (and work much better once you've actually seen the episode :P).
Now I've also found this.
They don't talk all that much about the show, but it sure is entertaining.
7x05 Seems like this was the episode when things get serious
! I was wondering why Enoch was missing but thankfully it wasn't anything important or nefarious. Just got himself a sweet car. Time seems so messed up at this point that I feel this is when you decide to use the sledgehammer.
! So Simmons is an LMD. I hope the theory about how her and Fitz just grew old and died together is true.
The bar scene made me realize how easy it would be to make May arouse now and also wonder if she would climax in sync with a partner
Agents of Shield S7 Ep5 - A Trout in the Milk
'Come with me if you want to continue to exist.'
! Yeah, you're right, desa. So far we've had these little weekly episodes where our agents ended up saving the day every time. This week, everything went down the gutter and nothing is resolved.
! May and Coulson have been apprehended. Sousa has issues about his place in time. And he's also been kidnapped along with Daisy who is about to face the same fate her mother did. Except she won't heal from it.
! Simmons is…something. They made it a point that May could feel her emotions so she's not like Coulson. But she does seem to be glitching in some way.
! Mack almost had to let his parents drown. That's brutal, especially because he just lost his daughter not too long ago. And now the Zephyr's been compromised. I'm not entirely sure what that means because the Chronicoms already knew that Shield would be there. I guess now the whole world is aware of a group of terrorists though. Same old, same old.
! I quite liked the episode, but I did find it a little hard to wrap my head around. There were a whole slew of callbacks and references and the plot kept on moving. Oh my god, I haven't even mentioned the freaking opening yet! How could I forget? Made me laugh more than one time.
! Still no Fitz who I really expected to show up this episode. Just logistics-wise. There wasn't really any place for him this week though. Fitz-centric episode next time, then? Who knows anymore. Honestly, I'll be happy to see him, but we don't really need him right now...
! I want the theory where Fitz and Simmons just grow old together. And you have one episode watching their lives.

! If they destroy the plain they can have them stuck and no longer in the way
I haven't been this excited for AoS in a long time.
! Love the opening. Love the characters interacting together and being spies. Love Sousa working with the team. Love the opening. Love man, it's all about peace & love. Flower power, baby.
! Simmons is an LMD? How? She had emotions. Well, Coulson does too, but May can't sense them. LMD 2.0 I guess.
! Deke killing Malick was a shocker. I'm really loving him this season. I always find myself interested in how he's pair up with. Glad he had Simmons' back when Sousa started freaking out and glad it didn't devolve into a fist fight.
! Happy Enoch's back on the team.
! What a bad ending for the team but the tension is so high I can't wait until next episode. Well, I can wait but I happy to be loving the show instead of watching it just so I'll know how it ends.

Agents of Shield S7 Ep6
! Poor Mack parents!!! He was being pretty weird to that stranger couple that never met him. But also does that mean Mack grows up an orphan now and probably had totally different upbringing. Also Coulson mention hydra to the director at a time where he has solid credibility so clearly timeline is totally out of whack unless we are in the parallel universe theory.
! I like Coulson energy. He manage to make a scene with philosophical bs fun by just the tone he use to answer and his genuine smile. Also if you invent time travel to steal a planet. You are also unrational being desperately clinging to life.
! Since Mack is now stuck in the past I wonder if Daisy will become leader. Simmons has memory trouble and May no emotion. Also it sucks for Mack that he got stranded basically alone. If it was with Yoyo we could have had a cool thing where he builds a family by the next time he meets with our group
! I dont like Deke enough for me to like when he gets in the way of a plan between Enoch and Simmons. He simply hasn't been here long enough for me to consider he deserves such privilege so Im bias against him and it just register as annoying when if it was Daisy or Mack I'd probably be fine with it. Now that I know they didn't get a happy ever after I need Fitz back in the show. They say he's in a place where he can see the chronicroms actions. So is his position related to the predictor?
Ive heard people speculate Sousa and Daisy… I could see it.
Agents of Shield for the last couple episodes
Yikes! What an episode!
! What a terrible thing to happen to Mack's parents. This timeline is all screwed up. There's no fixing it. It's an alternate universe now even if it turns out to be similar to the original.
! I don't blame Deke for attacking Enoch but I wish he'd tried giving the benefit of the doubt but Enoch is super strong so I guess he couldn't risk it.
! The whole Malick Jr. plot seemed a bit pointless at the end, just a way to take Daisy and Sousa out the main plot but I still liked it. Only one Malick left.
! We're gonna end the season with real Coulson, aren't we? That has to be what the show is setting up, the team reaching a point in time where they meet him for the first time.
! Still don't care about the Cronocoms but thankfully there's just here to move the story along. I'm all about the characters and the show is feeding me well.
! So, 2 jumps. Hmm…. Are they gonna end the series in the same year season 1 started? A full circle thing?Double hmm.......

! At least Deke messing up is in tune with his character. As for Daisy x Sousa, I hope they just become good friends.
Agents of Shield S7 Ep6 - Adapt or Die
Late post, but I need to do this for completion's sake
! Why is Mack's life so freaking tragic? It's really not fair. It's somewhat unclear (to me) whether his parents dying at that point in time now means that his brother grew up without parents. Mack himself still remembers life as it had been, obviously. But just the emotional toll of knowing that your parents were murdered is a lot. Drives some people into vigilantism. That, plus him and Deke get stranded in 19XX. Definitely an interesting development.
! Simmons has a memory inhibitor called Diana. Because nobody is allowed to know where Fitz is and if you want to see him on screen that means you want him to die. Well played, AoS, well played. Anyway, Elizabeth Henstridge mentioned on her weekly YouTube 'watch-alongs' that she got engaged during the filming of 7x5 and she called her engagement ring Diana. Which is why the writers gave the implant that name.
! There is definitely something going on between Daisy and Souza. I can't see them together at all, but they're becoming buddies for sure.
! Coulson sacrificed himself because everybody knows he'll come back anyway. I actually figured they would just download his latest cloud information into a new body. But I guess it won't be that easy. Will this story end with actual life Coulson returning? The odds aren't 0.
! Nice conversation between Coulson and the Chronicom seer. She seems to feel indomitable. Very calm, collected and serene.
! I wonder if they will figure out a way to go back in time for Deke and Mack (probably not) or if the second jump wasn't all that big (so they can wait it out). At least they brought Enoch this time.
Agents of Shield S7 Ep7 - The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and the D.
! I don't say this a lot because I usually diasgree with how people use the word. But this episode was basically filler to me. Plot-wise all we got was that Sibyl and Nathaniel Malick have now teamed up. Character-wise Deke and Mack became mates (but not really that close), and Mack mourned his parents.
! Other than that, this seemed like a parody of…various things. More so than any other episode this season. It may be that I did not care for it that much because I'm not too familiar with the 'source material'. But I haven't seen all that many Noir movies either, yet that episode was still great because it got us somewhere.
! Can somebody verify that Deke built his base in the ruins of the Chronicom base? And that's why the Timestream was there? Because I started out thinking that they were at the lighthouse. Although that would still be an actual Shield-of-that-time station, I suppose.
! That's it, I don't have a lot to say about this episode. I'm sure there's people who really enjoyed it.
Shield 7x7
! We really went full cheese on this one
! Deke has been a goofball too long and has been part of the team for too little for the serious scenes to feel natural and for emotions to hit like the show wants to.
! Really thinking about it I think it would have been a great Mack & Daisy episode
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
! Can somebody verify that Deke built his base in the ruins of the Chronicom base? And that's why the Timestream was there? Because I started out thinking that they were at the lighthouse. Although that would still be an actual Shield-of-that-time station, I suppose.
! The chronicrom base was under the lighthouse. Coulson took a ladder to go down into it after they rescued the director from getting his face stolen at the bottom of the lighthouse.
Oh yeah thanks, I remember that. But then where's 80s Shield? Did they give up on their base?
Oh yeah thanks, I remember that. But then where's 80s Shield? Did they give up on their base?
It was supposed to be an abandoned SHIELD base anyway. That's why Mack went to check if it was empty with Yoyo 2 episodes ago. They just abandoned it later in this timeline.
I really liked the episode.
! It was cheesy as hell, but that was the point. From the "retired" badass returning, to the 80's robots, to the horror movie gore, to the "undercover squad" that's not really undercover, it was a hoot. I wouldn't call it filler as much as they didn't move the main story as much as previous episodes. It was more of a character piece…for Deke. Which isn't bad but I wish Mack got to do more. Feels like they just hit the reset button on him so he won't be mourning anymore. Other than that, if you are an 80's fan it was gold.

They went wild with the references and cheese. You can tell the people who behind this episode grew up in the 80's. I just wish…
! We got to see Mack interacting with his younger self. And how did he get that house? No, no, no, stop it brain. It's was an 80's episode. You're not welcomed here!
Yeah, this episode was just not for me. I'm happy you liked it though!
When do you think the Disney Plus shows that were supposed to get released this year will come out?
Agents of Shield S7 Ep8 - After, Before
! Barry Allen who?
! This was my kind of episode. I really quite liked it. We got so see Jiaying again which was wonderful. The plot got furthered. And we got to delve into YoYo's character. Admittedly, her never-before-alluded-to childhood trauma seemed to come out of nowhere, but they did tie it into her powers. And now she is even more OP then she used to be. Conveniently it only happened in the final season.
! Meanwhile, on the Zephyr, everybody's getting patched up and trying to heal from their own trauma. I could feel the tension and urgency of the time jumps increasing in frequency. Simmons leaves behind a sort of journal/goodbye message (?) to Fitz who we will never get to see until maybe the penultimate episode if we behave and eat our vegetables.
! And Nathaniel Malick is assembling a team of supervillains. One has to wonder what exactly Jiaying has done to Kora in order for her to immediately turn on her entire life like that. Including her mother. That part was clunky, but it gave us more adversaries for the future so sure.
! Is Daisy weaker than she used to be because Nathaniel took some of her glands? Or are they both at full power now? It seems like there's should be a price for 'sharing' powers like that. And Daisy can make do with a little less power. After all, we have the fucking Flash on our team now.
Not as fun as last week's but it's not supposed to be.
! I love getting a Yo-Yo/May episode. And, yeah, the whole it's in your head thing is cliche but… No, buts. It was cliche and I don't care but at least Yo-Yo's powers are back.
! The time line is all messed up. There's no way they're returning to a present the same as their past. They better not a least. I'm just hoping they don't get a last second do-over.

! I don't get what Nathaniel's endgame is. Maybe he doesn't have one hence the anarchy talk. And if Nat's gonna make a team, Shield should start recruiting too. Bring Agent Tripp and Hunter and Mockingbird back for the finale. Oh, and Ghost Rider. Let's go full Avengers Endgame on the mofo.

Okay, that would be badass.
! While I would enjoy various scenes of the team recruiting their former mates before their time (specifically Ghostrider), can you imagine Fitz just showing up with all of them in tow to save the day?
Sad news
https://screenrant.com/falcon-winter-soldier-show-release-delay-august/
I mean I knew it would happen but still
7x9 Really liked this episode.
! Nice move showing the title twice.
! The montage of them losing to Enoch was incredibly funny.
! The talk between Daisy and Sousa and while I didnt need the kiss he really stole my heart in this one. Its kinda isolated and have nothing to do with the plot but I love that scene. I was ok with Sousa before but this one really made me love the character. I was worried it meant he is dying since I didnt know the episode title.
! For most of the episode Enoch is technically the villain but when they realize they have to sacrifice there's no unncesary drama on how he is dangerous but rather just great sadness to losing a friend. I like how for that lasts moments Enoch stay in character. He doesnt waste time to rip out the helping device and for his last moments his voice doesnt lose its cadence or become more expressive. And the talk they have before he goes is really good I think.
! He was always one of my favorite parts of the last seasons so I will miss him. This was my first time missing Fitz since I felt he should have been there for his last moments. And I am mad the show didnt have Jemma stay as a stand in since she is the closest person to Fitz.
! Only real critic is that Daisy would probably involve the team much sooner.
Another good episode. Funny when it wanted to be. Serious when it needed to be.
! This is up there with Xena: Warrior Princess as one of my favorite time loop trope episodes. Maybe even more so because there's a time limit too.
! Great seeing Daisy and Coulson as the dynamic duo this week. Took me 3 episodes but I finally saw the pattern. I'm guessing Jemma and Fitz are getting there's closer to the end.
! This was also a great sendoff for Enoch. They did the character right. His death scene was a bit long and it's sad Fitz wasn't there but, again, it's for Enoch so I'm fine with it. And maybe they wanted to mirror Peter Parker's Infinity War death so, yeah…
! This being the team's last mission is interesting. I can't help but go meta with it and think they are cutting Shield, or at least THIS version of Shield out of the MCU proper. Here's your retirement party, enjoy your gift card, now get out and we'll never speak of you again. Yep, I don't think they're fixing the timeline changes. This will be how they're cut off from everything else. A shame if true. That ship has long sailed but I really wished they made a proper Shield movie with Black Widow and Coulson and the tv crew. There's still so much potential for Shield in the MCU.
! As for Daisy x Sousa, meh. We knew it's where they were going so I'm glad it's not out of left field but I don't care. I'd rather have them be good friends/have a sibling relationship instead. Every female main character doesn't need to be in a romantic relationship.

I agree about…
! Jemma being a stand-in for Fitz but she had a lot on her plate this week with directing the episode and all, ha. Great job, Elizabeth Henstridge.
! And, yeah. I love Daisy. I love Sousa. I'm just not in love with them being together.
Agents of Shield S7 Ep9 - As I have Always Been (Great Title)
Yeah, this was a very good episode. :)
! When we first learned about there being a loop, I thought that there really wasn't a lot of time or different details to work with. But then they gave the twist about Coulson also experiencing everything which made it work really well. The episode was very comedic at times and at certain points it took me out of it a little bit (why is Enoch capable of beating up the whole team? Oh, Deke got killed, oh well. Daisy and Jemma just suffocated, but Deke didn't really react all that much.), but it was very well crafted overall. The vortex coming closer each time was a fantastic way to up the ante.
! Well, YoYo is clearly too powerful now, gotta trap her in the Quinjet. :P Coulson took an entire loop to get her out of there which was a smart idea that unfortunately didn't pay off. Except somehow she was there to go up against Enoch that one time…
! Coulson getting more and more agitated was the funny parts of the episode that worked for me. He's so annoyed! And has some legitimate complaints, of course.
! The writers realized that Mack wasn't in the last episode which means they couldn't screw up his life any further. Therefore, he immediately gets blinded in this one. Probably more than once.
! Daisy and Sousa, eh? I guess I'm fine with it because I feel like that actually gives him a higher chance of making it out alive, ironically. See below for my death predictions ;)
! Enoch's death didn't really affect me until his very good final scene/speech. The loneliness part was very poignant. And I liked that Coulson and Daisy stayed there with him. Yes, Simmons might have worked better. She might have told Enoch that he was also Fitz's best friend instead of just a good one. She's gotten pretty good at lying, after all.
! So why is Jemma so aghast at what she has done? Speculation time!
! I barely have any facts to back this up with, but it has to be big, obviously. I'll say that she and Fitz figured out a way to (potentially) save the world, but in order to try they had to sacrifice not just themselves (because that wouldn't be enough), but also the rest of the team. Even if they finish the mission, that'll be it. Their last mission. What that means exactly, I don't know. Maybe death, maybe being trapped in another time/place. Something like that. They will ultimately find another solution, but not everybody will make it. Here's my highly anticipated death predictions:
! Coulson: Pretty obviously, he'll be done with it all after this mission. He kind of already is, but he'll keep going to help the team.
Daisy: She'll survive because she basically is the main protagonist of the show.
Deke: Will survive because it would be pretty cruel to kill somebody's grandchild, right? No more FitzSimmons's in the future? I don't think so. I guess they could go the route of baby Deke being born making him redundant, but nah. Edit: Wait, this makes no sense, he's not their kid XD
Simmons/Fitz: They seem likely to die. I don't think it will be just one of them. End their story together for painful closure.
Sousa: I just don't think they will kill of Daisy's boyfriend again. May, Mack, YoYo: I don't know, I guess any of them could bite it, but I don't really see it. May is slightly more likely to die, in my opinion.
Joey: Still living the good life.
! What do you guys think?
! Edit: Oh my, I forgot about the Phlebotinum part!At this point in our lifetime, it's hard to say if that is a nod to Buffy (writers) or just a pop culture reference. Now I feel old. How can I loop back, please?Never mind, Drew Greenberg wrote this episode. Intentional reference then. Edit2: Yep, Elizabeth's YouTube stream confirmed it.
Agents of Shield S7 Ep10 - Stolen
! I can't believe Nathaniel is now the best character on this show because he will take us to Fitz.
! In other news, Nathaniel is still a piece of shit. But an enjoyable one. Kora, on the other hand, just didn't get enough development before her heel turn to anarchy. Presumably, she'll face turn later, but in the meantime she's just annoying.
! Good casting/acting on young Garrett's part. I thought it was gonna be him almost immediately (I've also watched all three seasons of Dark recently, (spoilers for the general premise/all of S1)
! so I'm now familiar with recognizing various versions of various people)I (viscerally) hate that he got an Inhuman power just like that. I'm fine with them having perfected the method, that makes sense to me. But it's so extremely invasive. In addition, Garrett takes zero time to somewhat control his powers. No zapping around the room helplessly like Gordon did. Okay, maybe having eyes helps with that. But it's just not earned at all. Which is the point. I have now argued myself into understanding this choice. I still dislike it which is also the point. :P
! This whole episode had an air of invasiveness to it, actually. What with the bad guys having a pretty damn good idea about Shield's every move. It was loss after loss after loss. Culminating in Simmons being taken.
! On the way we also lost Gordon (maybe?) and Jiaying (I kind of wanted Daisy to requake her neck to see if she would heal herself…I guess not...). So yeah, no new baby Daisy in the future. Adult Daisy will probably stick around somewhat like Deke did. She hasn't yet poofed out of existence after all. But it still seems like things have been screwed up so much at this point that we will have to repair it all somehow. Maybe Fitz will help with that.
! P.S.: Shoutout to random mercenary man who got the awesome power of knives. He made good use of it just like Giyera who used his magnetic powers to shoot guns without having to touch them.
Not my favorite episode.

! I'm not even gonna try dividing my general thoughts to my replies to anyone anymore. I just have to quote someone when talking about AoS. There's only a handful of episodes left so screw it.
! I'm not as sold on Nathaniel as you, but I like what he's doing more than the character himself. He's at least more interesting than Sybil. I'm just not into the whole anarchy thing. It's not anarchy, he's just being a selfish dick. But, I guess that's the point.
! Not a fan of Yo-Yo's new upgrade anymore solely because there's now always an excuse for her NOT to use it. Probably saving it for an awesome moment in the finale but for now she won't be using it much I guess.
! Jiaying dying was a surprise along with Gordon but I shouldn't be. We've reached Full Time Line Crazy Town. I'm kinda scared how they'll fix all this because it'll either be really good or really really bad. I just don't want AoS to fall flat on their face at the finish line after a solid final season.
! Still waiting for Ward to return. You can't do time shenanigans without having a fan favorite like him return, right?
! Anyway, overall an okay episode but it's down there with the first couple of episodes of the season as my least favorite.
! …Oh, they mentioned Coulson getting killed by Loki. Screw you, show! You can't deviate light years from the movie continuity then mention it. No. No. No. Get outta here with that.
! Garett's high on his power is entertaining. Nathanael talk bores me.
! Sousa telling the truth about the future being fucked. And Daisy had a nice talk with her mom.
! Im hoping for Fitz next week.
! Next week, Nathaniel and his posse will remove Jemma's implant which will lead into a flashback of Fitz and Simmons planning the mission. And at the end, I guess the team reunites. Then two weeks from now, we'll get the final two episodes at once and that'll be it. :(
Agents of Shield S7 Ep11 - Brand New Day
! I enjoyed the various character interactions we got, but plot-wise this was a slower table-setting episode for the finale. And yet, it doesn't feel like the series finale is incoming.
! Unfortunately, Deke didn't get to save Nana. Instead he had to watch her get tortured. Which is listed in a standard Shield agent contract under occupational hazards. I really like that they didn't have Jemma or Deke break before Nathaniel figured out what was blocking him. And then, we get to find out…a little bit. Something about blood tests which made Fitz change their plans. It really seems like Jemma was pregnant and that's why he wanted them to take their time. Makes sense. Now, was Jemma crying the other episode because she left her child 'behind' or because they left the team hanging for a considerable amount of time? Or something else still? In any case, she gets hit with plot amnesia. Weird choice at this moment in time. Maybe a fail-safe because her mind got infiltrated?
! Daisy (and Mack) going against probability is a fun concept, but clearly hazardous. Oh well, it's desperate times and they have plot armor. Their talk on the Zephyr floor was a beautiful sendoff to the crew. They've been a family for years and years and it's all gonna change now. For better or worse.
! Mack lets Sousa know that Daisy is into him and he better get ready for it. Hopefully he somewhat reciprocates her feelings, but apparently that's not that high on Mack's priority list. The better part of their talk was obviously the Quake moniker conversation.
! May and Kora have a little talk which was fine. My problem is that I still don't get Kora. It seems like she's been doing her own thing and just happened to play into Sybil's plan (because it was likely). Her own thing doesn't really make sense to me though...or she really doesn't understand how to bring her point across in an agreeable manner. Is she playing Nathaniel now? Or Shield/Daisy? I don't know and I don't really care...
! Oh and Shield is gone, by the way. Should we be sad? Or will they fix it all anyway? Also, why not do this 4 decades ago?
! I can easily see them giving us a great season finale with two more episodes. Series finale, though? Much more tricky at this point.
! Whedonverse things (it's been a while)
! Nathaniel observing a heart-felt moment between Jemma and Fitz was pretty hilarious. Must have been really awkward to shoot. It reminded me of Buffy's The Zeppo in which Xander interrupts one of the (many) melodramatic Buffy/Angel scenes and they play it for comedic effect.
!
! Immdiately afterwards, Jemma not wanting to forget Fitz was similar to Angel's I Will Remember You.
And then there's the title of the episode…hey Dr. Horrible :P
Alright, I will accept this thread as my own. :ninja: Even though now I won't really be posting in here anymore…
But anyway, yeah that's it. I've seen the final episodes of Agents of Shield. And I'm satisfied. Of course, not 100% satisfied because I'm capricious and impossible to please. But it was good.
Agents of Shield S7 Ep12 - The End Is at Hand & S7 Ep13 - What We're Fighting For
(I have no clue what's up with these spoiler tags. It won't let me delete the ones inserted right in the middle unless I get rid of all of them. Timey-wimey parallel worldy stuff, I'm sure) >! Okay, this one's gonna make it seem like I hated the episodes. Which I didn't. I quite enjoyed them. But many things irk me and I have to type them out, sorry about it.
! Oddly enough, the exact opposite of what I thought would happen occurred (I must be a Predictor chronicom). I feel like they gave us a pretty great series finale, but it was somewhat lackluster as the S7 finale. Suddenly, a lot of things seemed rushed at the end and we couldn't really revel in any of our triumphs. Specifically, the showdown with Nathaniel was…boring. Did he even use Kora's powers at all during the fight? Is that what made them explode? Or was it the radioactive plastic balls that Daisy warned us about 10 minutes prior as if we were supposed to know what they were. That was unsatisfying.
! I think my biggest gripe with the finale and the season as a whole is, unfortunately, Kora. I still don't think she got enough time to develop or to make me as a viewer understand her. I can logically follow that she was devoted to Nathaniel because he saved her life, but I didn't really get it. Why did we need the romance/kissing? Why does she seem to change her mind every scene? Why does she not care that Nathaniel speaks to her like she's 10 years old about the bad people and the good people in the world? I still like that we (and Daisy) got her because Ohana means family and she gives us another form of that (well, the quite literal one). Family has always been a big part of basically any Whedon production. They spell it out for us, too which I didn't mind at all.
! Oh, more gripes! I'll get to the good stuff soon though. What's with nobody giving a shit about Deke? He's also literal family! They joke a couple times about Daisy not even acknowledging him and then he once again 'sacrifices' himself to help the team and there's zero reaction. Disrespectful.
! Then there's the fact that I don't think all the characters were used that well. I understand that it's incredibly hard to find something pivotal to do for like eight
! different people. But they used to be more adept at it in other episodes. Maybe I'll abandon this critique on a rewatch though.
! Lastly, the story crafting wasn't as unpredictable as it has been in the past. It seemed very clear throughout the episodes that they kept hinting about FitzSimmons' daughter and they even dropped her name beforehand. So the big reveal wasn't exactly shocking. But maybe that's okay. Maybe it's better to have a well-crafted story rather than be erratic for the heck of it, espcecially for the finale. Again though, I feel like they've done this better in the past.
! That's all the negative stuff I can think of right now, so let's move on to the parts I enjoyed. Were there any? Yes. But only one big one. I loved the ending they gave us. They had to rush everything beforehand (including giving us voiceover while the opening credits were still going; shave off those seocnds!) so they were able to give us the meeting in the virtual safehouse in all its glory. Very somber and sad because that part of their journey together is clearly over. But obviously hopeful and lighthearted at the same time. There should be a word for that. I am quite pleased that they gave us the one-year after and even showed us everybody in action one more time in their respective environments. That was fantastic.
! Other than that, there were little moments because there always are.
! I'm glad they got to do two more seasons because if this show had ended after S5 I would have been devastated for years to come. It's what happened to me with the only other show (like ever) that I used to watch week to week as it aired, when HBO's Looking was canceled after two seasons. That show did get a movie though…
