Gonna try and actually play the DMC games since 5 is coming out soon. I played a couple hours of 3 when it came out but it never really interested me much, plus it was hard. Starting with 1 though and it's pretty fun, I know it's pretty different from 3 and 4. I can get S ranks during battles sometimes but my overall ranks are Cs and Ds and after the first boss (died a couple of times on) it opened up easy mode for me :D .
What are you Playing?

-
Been playing Yoshi's Woolly World. It's pretty fun, but I can usually play only about 4-6 stages at a time before it just becomes kinda tiresome.
-
I am enjoying Hyrule Warriors way, way more than I expected. I don't know if that enthusiasm will continue as I dig though adventure mode, but right now I'm having a blast.
-
Getting close to the end of DMC1. Flying bosses with a locked camera that hardly ever has them in view are annoying. Spamming Air Raid is a good strategy most of the time but Nelo Angelo (on the third fight right now) is pretty much immune to it unfortunately. It's kind of fortunate too though because it makes me have to not be cheap.

Same here, I've also recently started playing it.
It's full of so much fanservice but that's the kinda thing that appeals to me apparently.
Unlocking everything is going to be quite the adventure. -
I'd recommend against going full 100% at hyrule warriors, the game is obsenelly gigantic.
-
Started playing Phantasy Star IV today.
God, this is SOOOOOOOO much better than the first three games.
-
Thanks to the Steam summer sale I have be queuing a ton of games, just beat VVVVVV (a controller makes it way better, keyboard controls are not my forte) and thanks to a suggestion from a friend trying out Axiom Verge. This is one legit Metroidvania style game that honestly has this super dope Contra vibe to it with the boss designs.
-
Finished DMC1 and played the first couple of missions in DMC3. This game definitely plays much better than 1 and it also looks quite a bit better. Apparently in the US version of the game, the normal mode was the equivalent of the Japanese hard mode. I remember having a pretty hard time with it when I rented it in the mid 00s. Didn't help that I imagine I didn't understand the game mechanics much back then too. I beat Cerberus on my second try this time though, but in the HD version the difficulty was put back to how it was in the Japanese release.
-
Bout to jump back into AC Origins one thing I gotta say after having played this game for at least two weeks I hope for Odyssey if there's investigations in that game they fix how they work cause boy does Origins get stupid in this area.
-
Started watching some videos of Mischief Makers but it looked fun so I decided to play it myself. Had to modify the controls a bit (and it's still not ideal) but it plays pretty interestingly with the jetpack boosting and the only world interaction being grabbing and shaking. The way the levels are build kind of reminds me of Commander Keen too.
-
I am so helplessly addicted to Hollow Knight. A friend suggested it because he thought I would like it since every character in the game (main, NPCs, enemies) is based on bugs. He was right… over 20h and I just started playing it on wednesday.

SAAAAAME. I haven't gotten any of the endings yet and this is already one of my favorite games ever. I love basically everything about it.
-
Started playing the first Breath of Fire. Breath of Fire II was, believe it or not, the first JRPG I ever played and it holds a real special place in my heart. So after all these years I've finally gotten around to playing the first one and, yeah, thus far it's pretty fun and holds up really well.
-
I'm playing the single player content of melee to see what the fuzz is all about. The xbox controller is not ideal, but I'll have to do.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I wana replay Kid Icarus Uprising, but that damn control scheme, and splatoon being the correct way to pull it off have spoiled me and I just don't wana sacrifice my wrists on it.

This is the sadness I feel constantly. A fantastic game that's completely brought down by the fact it had to exist on the 3DS. That it hasn't been remade on a more effective platform yet is a shame, especially when instead the likes of Captain Toad get a re-release.
-
Maybe next year well be lucky. Only the HD Zeldas, xenoblade x and wonderful 101 are left for wiiu remaster/relaunch.

https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/10-wii-u-exclusives-we-still-want-ported-to-switch/2900-1227/
If you don't want to be pestered by Gamespot:
Wonderful 101
Starfox zero (would need a ton of rework to work with human-compatible controls)
Super Mario Maker
Super Mario 3D World
Super Smash (published March 8? why no captain toad then?)
Pikmin 3 (I feel ashamed to forget one of the best, and kind of used the tablet right!)
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Zelda (Windwaker and Twillit Princess)
Persona Emblem (AKA Tokio Mirage Sessions #FE) -
Kind of getting into the flow of getting all ~300 melee trophies, knowing full that each character has 3, for classic, adventure and all-stars, and some hard ones like diskun, or 200vs to get some stages.
Checks "food". 1k vs.
Nope.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
No matter how much I hate the wall of lamentations of smash of now, I'd rather have the option to hammer that 1k vs, rather than cheesing it.
-
Another pair of trophies that I won't get (unless I put money on this, and get better controller, a GC adapter, or how to connect the wiiu pro controller to this) the last two of home run contest.
Also, I forgot how cruel the ledges were before T_T
-
some hard ones like diskun
duuude I remember this, back when the game came out! My buddy and I spent all summer working on it together. Final battle bonus we got (needed for diskun) was "Climactic Clash" which for some reason seemed absurdly hard to get. Definitely need to plan it out, with two controllers.
-
I'm going to go by modern smash rules: 5 hammers.
Food is definitelly one.
-
This is giving me nostalgia. Melee was the last Smash Brothers in which I actually got all of the trophies, and finally getting the Diskun trophy felt like a serious achievement.
Then Brawl had a million trophies and stickers and pokeball mechanics in SSE and I decided to never do that again.
-
I decided to try and get mewtwo, so I had to ignore the emulator for a while (I got 2 out of 5 hours down already) and I decided to play smash4Ds
I guess is the combination of the emulator + bad controller, but the ds game (I loaned the wiiu to a friend) felt way more fluid and responsive, the dissadvantage was that I died a lot of stupid deaths because I keept forgetting that I put A -> Y and B -> B and doing aerial up instead of the recovery.
Anyways once I get mewtwo I'll try to fiddle with the controls to see if I can fix some things and improve the experience, only Mewtwo and Mr G&W left to unlock, on the stages side I only got the Mario 2 (USA) one and Yoshi's island. I'm seriously considering ignoring the ones that require a number of vs.
But I'm definitelly getting all the characters ones, classic I'm missing only the hidden chars (minus Marth), adventure I only got Mario.
Event matches I'm stuck in the "kill ~15 kirbys with one stock" one. Falcon Kirby and Dorf Kirby are mean, and my controller not registering up, or not having the "DO NOT JUMP WHEN I PRESS UP" option here gimps my recovery.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Another thing, I never bought the dlcs for 3ds, just Wiiu (my 3ds is american, my wiiu is european, can't syncbuy), over 50$ the 7 characters and 14$ the stages?
I didn't realize it because I bought them as they came, but that was an unkind price, to keep the anger to a minimum.
-
Mewtwo GET. But the controller didn't want to sync with the emulator, I'll check later what happened, but now, for the 2d Man.
-
Got tired of fighting the controller more than my opponents, after unlocking mr G&W and all the classic trophies, and while checking the music and stuff of the tangentially related franchises on smash4, I found the theme for Baten Kaitos, and decided that the past games of monolith soft were my jam.
I'm enjoying this game so much.
-
Just picked up Captain Toad on the Switch. Was a little disappointed by their 2-player mode since you can't actually control the duo of Cap and Toadette and instead have more of a Mario Odyssey 2-P mode where one player controls Cappy to a limited extent while the 'main' player controls Mario. I'll admit, it's fun to be able to launch unlimited tomatoes at any obstacle using the second player laser sight thing, but that can only really help on the mine cart levels based on my experience with the Wii U version. Also the addition of the Pixel Toad Hide n Seek wasn't exactly engaging, it's trivially easy to find it since you can rotate the entire field 360 degrees and if it's not in any obvious places, then the non-obvious ones become apparent (it's just a bit lame that you have to be using the portable version so you can't just have it connected to the TV all the time if you want). Can't wait to see what the Odyssey-inspired new levels are like, hope there's more DLC levels for it soon (and that they didn't cut out the bonus levels from completing parts of Super Mario 3D World).
-
I beat MoH Rising Sun. Played it as a kid but only got like halfway through the game. It's a shame it never came to PC. Once I got the ability to plug component cables into my Xbox though it actually looks pretty good. At one point I as shooting at a couple enemies, one of them went to throw a grenade but I killed him and he dropped it. The other enemy went to kick it at me like they sometimes do (your friends can kick grenades too) but kicked it into a wall and it exploded, killing him. After that I played a little bit of Spiderman 2. Not used to the web swinging yet really.
-
I started playing Lego Marvel's Avengers again since they had a sale on PSN a while ago where the game and all the DLC was bundled for really cheap. Too bad there doesn't seem to be any more on the horizon for things post-Doctor Strange.
-
Been playing Kirby Star Allies. They weren't kidding that this game is easy, but I'm still having a swell time with it.
-
Sorry for the double post, but I finished up Kirby Star Allies and have now started on my first-ever playthrough of the Uncharted series. Finished chapter 3 of the first Uncharted game and, yeah, it's pretty fun so far.
-
Finally started Nier Automata. Mainly followed the main quest and got stuck at the two bosses on the underground ship (I'm level 11).
After dying three times within seconds I consulted the steam community and figured I was ten levels too low. Thanks game, for showing this to me the hard way.
Aside from that, the atmosphere and the setting are above and beyond.

Can't wait to see the takes on Uncharted 3.

Can't wait to see the takes on Uncharted 3.
Well, in the mean time, I guess I'm a little over halfway through the first Uncharted (Chapter 13). The game is still fun, but…god, I'm playing on easy difficulty, and I'm still getting my ass kicked. I mean, obviously I'm making progress, but I've died dozens of times already from the endless swarms of goons. Also, I can't aim for shit (had the same problem with Last of Us).
-
I kind of forgot that Uncharted 1 could be a bit cheap at times regardless of difficulty my personal favorite (that all the game's have) is enemies who have endless supply of grenades specifically designed to flush you out of cover and the shotgunners who love to blitz you.
-
Welp, finished the first Uncharted.
So it's a game about a handsome adventurer who seeks a lost treasure in an exotic location. He's joined by a girl and an older man and fights against a bunch of evil treasure hunters, one of whom is European. And then it turns out the treasure is cursed and will kill those who seek it. Also, Nazis are involved.
Hmm, now what does that remind me of? …Oh yeah, Star Wars. But hey, still a pretty great game. Onward to Uncharted 2.
-
So I was playing Super Mega Baseball 2 and my hitter knocked the pitcher unconscious with a ball they hit. I didn't realize that was something you could do. Was still laughing at it a few innings later.
-
Besides jump force beta, I'm playing ng assassins creed syndicate
-
My friends convinced me to get Super Mario Party. I had more fun that expected.
I got back to into the breach, trying to get the rest of the golden coins.
-
I've been playing Rhythm Heaven Megamix and it's so much fun!
But I'm not good enough to unlock all the games and it's kinda frustrating me a tad. I've got like 3 more left. -
Well into Breath of the Wild now. Finished my third Guardian Beast. It's one of those games you just never want to put down and keep exploring and finding everything. I absolutely love it.
-
I started playing Ark: Survival Evolved, finally. Man, what a game. It really starts out making you feel so small and limited, literally anything not smaller than a dog will kill you instantly and even the dog-sized things are a nightmare to deal with when you start out. I'm almost to level 20 and I've hardly gone much distance away from where I've set up my camp because of how dangerous it is to go into the unknown without a proper weapon which, due to how the game's system for crafting works, I've still only got access to the most primitive of tools and weapons. I can't even find a decent spot to climb up somewhere and snipe a triceratops with a slingshot (which I calculate would take about 500+ shots to do), which would then also require constant repairs of said slingshot which then require gathering raw materials which in turn require time, health and resources to keep healthy while acquiring.
I haven't attempted to actually tame any dinosaurs yet but I'm at the point where I'll risk it. Dying is a huge pain and respawning in a place anywhere near your camp is random, plus if you make a sleeping bag (which costs WAY too much damn material in my opinion) to create an artificial spawning point, it vanishes after one use. And while they are only useful for fast travel and not actually for sleeping (the game's realism takes a huge dive there), you can't take items with you so it becomes a questionable endeavor to utilize them.
I'm a bit mixed about the fact that large trees and rocks constantly respawn even if you've already destroyed them. I understand smaller things like berry bushes and the like doing that at a much faster rate (they'd have to or you'd never find a source of adequate food fast enough) but I dislike how little it feels like you've accomplished seeing an entire forest you've plowed down to make supplies just cropping back up after a day or two.
I do have to say, though, the game is absolutely gorgeous. The visuals are some of the best I've ever seen (the water, oh, the lovely, lovely water) and while some of the creatures look like they're robots (I'm guessing the skins just weren't properly loaded and they're not supposed to be mechanical), the ones you do see look awesome and very detailed, and their behavior is also fascinating (watching pterodactyls fold up their wings and walk around on land was surprising and interesting).
I kind of wanted it to be a bit more centralized, like you start at a location that's intended to be your base and you just build things up around it so you can keep things more organized, especially once you start taming and training dinosaurs, but it's much more improvised. I'm not disappointed I didn't hold out for a version with all the DLC, I'm overwhelmed just by what there is to do in the base game (super happy about that Playstation Store sale where I snagged it for $24, which is like half of what the disc costs at Gamestop).
There is more of a sense of tedium than I have with most other sandbox type games but this one does have more charm in many ways. I say give it a go if you like games where you really have to put in the time and effort.

Luigi's Mansion (3DS Remake): The original Luigi's Mansion was one of the handful of major Gamecube games that I skipped out on, but I played and really liked Dark Moon.
I mostly had a good time, but even by the end I could not get used to the controls. For most of the game it wasn't such a big deal, but near the end when I had to chase around 200+ hp Boos in awkwardly shaped rooms and ESPECIALLY during the final boss fight (which was the only time I died) it got pretty frustrating. I don't remember having any serious issues with Dark Moon, so I'm not sure what happened.
Still a fun game, but I think I preferred the sequel. Even aside from the controls, I felt like it had more variety.
-
Sounds like they took almost everything from the original even the awkward controls.
Still a fun game, but I think I preferred the sequel. Even aside from the controls, I felt like it had more variety.
Some of that variety was kind of questionably implemented.
Such as the multiple mansions and the wonky mission mechanic.
-
Yakuza 6. Have played 0 and Kiwami, but this looked so good. Really enjoying it so far. More great characters early than the other two, which is saying something, some great side stories and a very interesting and fairly unpredictable main plot so far
-
I was in the Fallout 76 beta. However, due to sickness and difficulty optimizing the game on my comp, I barely got to play. By the end I was level 7 and my best weapon was a pitchfork. I feel I made a mistake preordering this.
On the plus side, I will say it's shockingly bug free for a Fallout game. The only glitch I saw was that one where an enemy's model stretches an obscene amount. Good times.
-
Xenoblade Chronicles: I've spent nearly 12 hours of this game running around obsessively hunting down sidequests, and I still only just reached Gaur Plains and just have Shulk and Reyn in my party.
So yeah, It's pretty darn good.
-
Anyone playing Dragalia Lost? Just got into it during the big raid event, and once I got over the learning curve, it was pretty enjoyable. My ID is 97617932505 if anyone wants to add me to their friend list.

That's the single-player mode, is it? Is there still a huge overworld map like in 3, New Vegas and 4? If so I'll probably pick it up at some point. I have zero interest in the multiplayer aspect.

Well, there's just one mode really. You play it online, but you can ignore the other players to a good extent. As for the map, I barely got a chance to travel outside the beginner area but it's supposedly bigger than the others.

So internet connection is required even if you don't want to use online functions? I hate how they force you to do that even if you're not interested in any multiplayer or anything like that.
