@Kylor:
That's a severe underestimation of Emma's character. It's easy to see her as a hindrance due to her idealism, and not always having the same access to information that Norman and Ray do. But her perceptions and ability to play the game are just as top-notch, if not even better, than Norman. While she does act with empathy more than logic, she's proven quite good at using that to predict what others want and using that to her advantage.
Can't say quite where this is going, but it's a pretty safe bet that Norman's plans are going to go south at some point, and Emma will be the one to see it coming.
Emma's a good character, but I'm enjoying Norman's pragmatism and charm enough to root for him to succeed, wholeheartedly. So yeah, Emma is a character with her own agency and a huge dream, but that dream is fleeting and mysterious, whereas I think we're supposed to see Norman's plan as well thought out and logical.
Now are we going to see parts of Norman's plan fall apart? Probably, but my gut tells me that if they do, it'll be because of Emma, in which case she will be sort of a nuisance in my eyes. I don't mean to underestimate her character and I know that she's as capable as Norman or Ray, I just relate much more to Norman.
