There is no way that All Might is getting in before Bakugou.
Shaman king is in the middle of moving to another editorial, so very unlikelly to get in.

I listed boruto there, even with the special conditions of his series, but gameplay wise? A Naruto without his visually interesting powers? I wouldn't like him.
Ok, I'll squeeze in a few years more:
Taking in consideration these two games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famicom_Jump:_Hero_Retsuden and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famicom_Jump_II:_Saiky%C5%8D_no_Shichinin
Abrebiated as FJ and FJII for my convenience. The only character with full attendance to all crosover games is Goku, if we discount Battle Stadium DON (that was only DB, Naruto and One Piece) and Jump Superstars, the perfect attendance series are: Dragon Ball, Kochikame, Jojo's bizzarre adventure and Sakikage!! Otokojuku. Listing the series because I'd have to remove Jojos because they have switched Jhonatan and Jotaro in a few of these. The one discounted with JSS's inclusion is Sakikage.
1989-1993:
! 1989:
Dragon Quest Dai's adventure: More popular than a videogame tie in should be. If it wasn't for Squareenix it would be a certain thing. Trapped in licencing hell.
Video Girl Ai: Popular enough back then, if I was more familiar with it I'd say a regular 4yt. Unlikelly to get in before Nisekoi or Yuna or We never learn, if even.
! 1990:
Keiji: a 4yt drawn by Tetsuo Hara, artist of Fist of the North Star. If it comes this vs that, the answer is obvious.
Slam Dunk: competes with the premium basket slot with Kuroko's basket. Weirdly absent of JSVV even if other sport assists made it in.
Chinyuki: That super that made it to JSVV, you'll forget the name but never the face of nightmares. Made it to JSVV even if it skipped JUS. Anyone's guess.
Yu Yu Hakusho: very unlikelly, to not get in.
! 1991:
Two series lasted more than 2 years, Outer Zone a twilight zone stile manga and Pennant Race, that seems like a gag-baseball manga. Not very likelly candidates, both were over in less than 3 years.
! 1992:
Hentai Kamen: Infamous, but it is actually acknowledged? Even if it was short, it has a movie.
BOY: no comment.
! 1993:
Ninku: On JUS, is a dude who combines ninjutsu with Kung Fu. Not likelly as the original series was short lived and the followup was in Ultra Jump.
Tottemo Luckyman: Another of the Gag heroes, in JUS as an assist and JSVV as a fighter, so it's likelly to return.
DNA: Short lived, but had an OVA. Unlikelly but noted.
Hell Teacher Nube: As Luckyman, went from assist to fighter, maybe it's luck will continue.
! The years leading up to the end of Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk were dry, with even notable series lasting very little. From now on it gets somwehat annoying, I still know something about series of the 80's, but anything of the series of 70's and 60's is purelly second hand accounts and perception, so I'll just be listing names of series of 4 years or more of duration, or that were on Famicom Jump, their genere, and nothing else.
Could we get astroboy or is he outside of their properties siince he is so much older and they might have made deals about him before video games started rising in popularity, also fist of the north star is prettu likely imo
1984-1988:
! 1984
Kimagure Orange Road: in FJ, Romantic comedy, 4 years. Unlikelly
Dragon Ball: of course
! 1985:
City Hunter: in FJ, Detective, 7 years. Skipped in the rest of crossovers.
Tsuide ni Tonchinkan: in FJ as playable character, Gag manga, 5 years, unlikelly
Sakigake!! Otokojuku: in FJ and almost all crossovers, hardboiled action comedy, will very likelly come back.
! 1986:
Saint Seiya: In all crossovers except FJII and JSS, might be difficult to license, but kinda famous.
! 1987:
Jojo's Bizarre adventure: Perfect attendance, will return, the question is Jotaro or Josuke, or both.
Moeru, Oni-san/The burning wild man: in FJ, it seems like a action comedy, 4 years, unlikelly.
THE MOMOTAROH: in FJ, just 2 years, very unlikelly
! 1988:
Bastard!!: The author is the only person Togashier than togashi, it is technically ongoing in ultra jump. Fantasy series. Unlikelly, as it has been skipped from every other crossover.
Jungle King Ta-chan: Gag manga, with 2 series, in JFII and JUS, somewhat likelly to show up.
Rokudenashi Blues: 11 years, boxing manga, was in FJII and in JUS as an assist, somewhat likelly
Magical Taluluto: comedy manga, 4 years, in FJII, seems like a doraemon like character, I'd say Unlikelly.
There is no way that All Might is getting in before Bakugou.
Shaman king is in the middle of moving to another editorial, so very unlikelly to get in.
I mean, I'd gladly take all 3 Hero characters, but I guess you have a point with Bakugo winning the past 2 popularity polls
I know Shaman King didn't make it to J-Stars, was that the reason then too? I know D Gray-man is in a different magazine, but does it matter for that series too?
@Long:

By the rules of the past crossovers, where the most foreign character was the protagonist of Jojo part VII, I'd say very very unlikelly, and I'm giving him this small sliver of a chance because WSJ doesn't have a robot boy character (at least in the 35 years of magazine that I have checked today) and that Tezuka was one of the biggest mangaka ever. But it is another editorial, and definitelly not in WSJ.
The only one of Tezuka's works in the magazine seems to be: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lion_Books

This is purelly observational, I don't have any insider knowledge, but while D Gray-man is in another magazine, it is still the same editorial. Like a hero moving from the x-men to the avengers, it still marvel.
I really don't know how difficult is for an author to move between editorials, but I do know that in the early days of jump it was way more common.

(just 15 years more!!)
1979-1983:
! 1979:
Kinnikuman: I'd say super likelly if not because it was skipped for JSVV+. Has jumped around magazines, but it seems like all they were Shueisha.
! 1980:
Dr Slum: Arale has only ever been missing from FJII, no reason not to have her.
! 1981:
Captain Tsubasa: in FJ, LOONG running footbal series, still in shueisha, while the main series ended in a normal period, it comes back every world cup to haunt us, depends on the game's assists.
Cat's Eye: in FJ, trio of art thieves sisters, 4 years, moved on to a non shueisha magazine.
Black Angels: Violent vengance story, not in any game, would be considered unsuitable for the magazine by today's standars.
! 1982:
High School (translated: Funyface club): in FJ, School gag manga about the titular school group, latest publication in the Square enix magazine, so not likelly. Also weird publication, had two runs in the magazine, one from 80's to 82's and this one from 82's to 87's.
! 1983:
Wing-man: in FJ, superhero manga, seems like a kamen raider style hero, just 3 years, but it's author has been recurring in this list, with Video Girl Ai, Shadow Lady, DNA2 and I''s, with other important works outside the magazine. I'd bet as unlikelly, but interesting author.
Shape up Ran: in FJ, gag manga, seems like a weight loss story, still in merchandise, 4 years, unlikelly
Fist of the north star: Almost perfect attendance, skipping only FJII, very likelly to return, too many spinoffs to check, I'm just trusting on the presence of Kenshiro in JSVV.
Ginga Nagareboshi Gin: in FJ, it's about a bear hunting wolf, novelty for an animal protagonist, ran for 5 years, with an anime. I'd give it a chance, but I find it unlikelly.

Final few, Just getting the checklist I'll fill in the rest later:

Toilet Hakase
! 1971:

it's a 3 on 3 fighter?
Nevermind. Gundam versus and Dissidia both sucked in that format. Maybe it works in arcades, but having to balance around 3 characters at once makes the individual characters less powerful and versatile, makes you less able to really track the enemy, and also leaves you at the whim of stupid AI teammates. Not good.

I think Aralle covers that ground pretty well. Not a boy, but she is a super powered robot child from a highly successful long running Toriyama series and she's in most of these sorts of games.
A fighting game needs good support after release to stay alive I hope this game gets it
I won't lie, I was cringing during the whole thing, with Luffy standing on the american flag taking it to a level I could barely handle.
I think it is just hard for me to expect anything good from a Jump game that is not on the format of Ultimate Stars.
it's a 3 on 3 fighter?

Are you talking about all of the three characters on stage at the same time? Because here is more like 1 Main Fighter alongside 2 support characters.
If anything is like the Shippuden Ultimate Ninja games.

I knoooooooow, that flag was like WHAAAAAT. I want it to be a beautiful competitive 2D fighter instead so badly. Wahhhhhhhh I'm so tired of these arena fighters, they're just too wonky. The Naruto ones got pretty close to a good game, but the DB, One Piece, and SJ ones just seem so barely there.

They've stated its a 3 on 3 arena fighter.
They just don't showcase that because they don't have anything finished yet. Can't show a 3 on 3 with only 4 characters finished.
All of the gameplay we've seen has been 3 on 3, one main and two supports, which is consistent with Jump Victory Vs. so I don't see any reason to expect otherwise.

Robby, I don't remember your opinion on Dbfigther z or one piece burning blood.
Fighterz looks cool but I've never liked the tag team switches in fighting games, except maybe all the way back in X-men vs. Street Fighter, but that game was 2v2 and had a really small roster. And I haven't had the patience to practice 2D fighters in a long time, though I used to love them.
And burning blood I never picked up because at the time it came out I'd already gotten my fill of OP from the musou games. (Which also dissapointed me for a lot of reasons… which sucks cause I'm a huge musou fan.)
This one seems to be very close to burning blood on my ignorant perspective as I haven't played either game, but it doesn't seem to be close to disidia 3v3, for 6 total individual players at the same time.
Definately seems as shiny as Dissidia.
Let me clarify, I was talking about gameplay.
Let me rephrase. Definitely seems as floaty as Dissidia
It seems like you can swap characters, but just only one life bar for all 3.
Does this mean no side characters this time? Since I am all on board for the playable Neuro we won't get.

A member of the dev team, when asked "What about Shokugeki no soma or Prince of Tenis" answered "think heroe characters" as.. combatants I guess. But the interviewer did ask about combatants, I keep some hope for my idea of a Soma assist where he prepares something, and if the summoner gets to him is a possitive effect, but if the opponent gets it, is the peanut butter tentacle.
See Neuro in action halfway here, the best I can do for you friend:

Ultimate Stars was literally how I learned Neuro was a thing lawl.
As mixed as my feelings are on Soma, I would be hella interested in them trying to make him a fighter. Same for Senkuu in Dr. Stone, except that series is still good.
I'd guess if you really try, Soma working like phoenix Wright in MvC3, in a low power style cooking and preping, causing fodgasm illutions, either by eating his food or feeding it to the opponents, getting the food stand, or the duel card spices, the inevitable tentacle, or bathe them in honey, or the unlimited blade works, or a fatality-like killer move on the soma cherubs of chapter 2, where the opponent ascends to heaven.
Sadly my idea with Senku is very similar, getting materials and experimenting, even if it doesn't make sense in a modern world, until a powerful invention is ready.
Checking the development times, it would be hard to get a character that is less than 2 years old, or a development or power that hasn't happened to Luffy, Gintoki, Deku, Asta, or any other theorical player character already in the game, as of the start of the year.

Acording to myself this morning, the most likelly series to be the youngest cut point would be either Black Clover or Burrito, with Dr. Stone a distant third.

Did you ever get to play Pirate Warriors 3?
I played the first one but couldn't get my hands on the second so I saw a huge improvement when I got the third. There's always room for improvement but I felt that it was a good musou experience.
A good amount of characters (and One Piece characters have great/fun powers for musou games), the dream log was great to keep the game running after you completed the story mode. The worst part of that series right now is there is no 4th entry planned.
Did you ever get to play Pirate Warriors 3?
Nope. I got the second one and wasn't super impressed with that, and 3 didn't really add enough to the roster (or anyone I cared about) enough to justify getting. I assumed 4 would be along soon enough and waiting would give me an extra bunch of characters. I kinda wanted to play Moria, but didn't care about any of the other adds… and they still managed to have Mr. 2 not be playable after three whole games.
Maybe if I'd skipped 2.
I played Orochi, Dragon Quest Heroes and Warframe instead to get my musou fix.
I'll be complaining a lot about this game so bear with me if you please.
! Starting: Gratuitous blue particles overload
! Two times that the clashes lead to stun, was this a perfect guard that Frieza didn't take advantage from? Only way that I could let this go, but the second time is Luffy the one blocking and Frieza the stunned so..
! Then with the red hawk, the camera stays in place while Luffy runs ahead, dunno why. Particle overload as well.
! Change with Goku at second 10, goku gets interrupted while readying a Kame hame ha. Nothing wrong with this except the particle overload.
! 00:19 Goku does an ukemi-like move, from prone to guard.
! 00:20 closeup of goku when going by one of the numerous clashes that the game seems to depend on, I don't like drastic camera changes in fighting games.
! 00:28 they start the "right behind you" game. I loved gintama's parody of this one.
! 00:36 naruto is summoned and rushes frieza (without gratuitous face closeup) and tags out goku, maybe the same super bar is used to swap characters?
! 00:49 no idea what happens here
! 00:53 and a little before, naruto starts doing attacks with long windup animations, and those are the ones that manage to launch Frieza horizontally
! 01:00 gas explosion, lovelly
! 01:07 Naruto swaps with Luffy, who doesn't seem to be doing an special, and after Hawk Gatling, just as easilly Luffy swaps with Goku, who also doesn't use a special
! 01:30 Naruto finishes using a Rasengan as a summon, chasing frieza for like 3 seconds, while goku charges up a kame hame ha.
! Next battle starts at 02:07 without showing the end of the first one. I'm done for now.
Well, here's my opinion:
I used to buy every One Piece game there was (Japanese, didn't buy any of the English games). I put a LOT of hours into those games but my interest started to wane with Pirate Warriors (the first one was awful, I liked the second when playing co-op, third had that story regurgitation I didn't like so I didn't buy it). I gave Burning Blood a chance because it looked good from the trailers (and bought the Whitebeard Edition) but it was awful. I couldn't play it for more than two hours.
This game looks like Burning Blood. I probably won't buy this game. I think people need to temper their expectations for how many series will appear because it's probably going to be the same or less than J-Star Victory Vs.
I think One Piece works best as an adventure game and the fighting games haven't been too hot (I like the Jump Stars based games though). For a crossover title to be successful I feel like it needs to have a LOT of characters and a fighting game like this won't do it. We will probably never get a game like the Jump Stars games again so the closest things I can think of:
-Mobile Gatcha (Yep, it would be a money grubbing game but it would also probably have the most characters out of every game)
-Namco X Capcom clone
2D is now a money-sink and will probably never happen and the 3DS is basically dead leaving only mobile and a game like this to exist.
At the very least it's "different" from JSVV+ as it doesn't has the cutscene for the powerup, but it also lacks the One Good Song.
2d would be the way to go, embrace the manga, but alas.
I'd be willing to hear about the Burning Blood experience tho, can you share some more details?

New Gameplay of Zoro-
This game is closer to Burning Blood than J Stars which is good since J Stars was horrendous. My only issues with the game so far are the particle effects and all 3 sharing one health bar.

The lack of Mr. 2 bothered me also, I think there were other npc's like him that could have been made playable but my memory fails me right now.
Man, I could really go for a Pirate Warriors 4. You think there's any change they'll revisit the franchise?
But if you ever happen to find it with a nice discount and are betwen musou's I'd reccomend you give it a chance.
Well, here's my opinion:

It's an anime game, every other franchise entry will revisit the main story.
I respect your opinion and I too welcome modes with alternate stories or such, but I just always find it weird how many people complain that a video game adapting a known story adapts said known story. That's usually the first thing to expect.
(on a side note: despite the story mode being necessary to get all characters, skills and medals, you spend most of the time in PW3 playing the Dream log/free mode, where you choose which island to go and get a some nice rng to keep things fresh)

What are the chances of me getting Usopp in this game?
@Triumph:
What are the chances of me getting Usopp in this game?
Short version, very unlikelly.
Longer version: Usopp is not in the top ten of popularity of One Piece characters, hasn't been a figther in the past crossover games, was an Assist as Sogeking singing and shooting the firebird/using Usopp's noise in JUS, but he does present an unique moveset with Joke or trap-like close range attacks, strong long range attacks, Yusuke from Yu Yu hakusho or the team Tamakoma II of world trigger could imitate part of his style.
As an Usopp and One Piece in general I'd love to get all strawhats in, someway or another (was thinking on either following the JUS model and have Luffy, Zoro and Sanji as fighters and the rest as support, or having them 3, and another two roster slots, one for Nami with Brook and Chopper as part of her moveset, and the other for Franky with Robin and Usopp as part of his moveset)
But there is the fact that they have the Burning blood assets, so porting One Piece characters should be relativelly easy.
Longer version: Usopp is not in the top ten of popularity of One Piece characters,
People are philistines…:getlost:
If I have to guess, most franchises that had full playable characters in Jstars will likely reappear in this game (+ newer manga), except for maybe the gag-characters, but I would like for them to be kept.
I think what will set this appart from Jstars in terms of reception is that it'll have an actual story mode, but judging from Spike's previous efforts with Bruning Blood, maybe it won't be really competent. It still largely depends on what the director pushes for.
I really dislike how they're disregarding non-action series, as if Shonen lacks the variety, but then again how could they balance Sakuragi or Tsubasa in a fighting game.
They should be able to go around and include Yugi even though he's not a fighter, with a little bit of imagination by making him keep one monster (from the duel monsters) floating around him akin to stands.
Speaking of stands, Jotaro will probably be the one representing his franchise this time around, specially since data mining for Jstars revealed it had assests for Jotaro, so maybe they changed their mind in the last minute and included Jonathan and Joseph instead.
Now that I think about it, Jstars had assests for Yoh from Shaman King and Dai from Dragon Quest too, and since Yoh cannot be included due to changing publishers, will Dai make it? (can Bandai obtain the lisence temporarily from SquareEnix for the sake of Jump Force?)
It exudes gachanes.
Yeah, it's gacha, should've done my research.
But there is the fact that they have the Burning blood assets, so porting One Piece characters should be relativelly easy.
I really hope they do so, specially considering they're already heavily refrencing BB for Luffy and Zoro, but I've a feeling they'll include a villain instead.
My guess on why Jotaro didn't made it to jstars is that game was way too anime based, and part III was not released yet (I think).
The three series that seem to me to be licencing challenges are: shaman king (changing editorial) dragon quest (don't know much about dai's adventure only that it was long lasting and he has merchandise, but at the end of the day is squeenix) and Yu GI oh! (Strange that wasn't included in jstars and konami bag-of-dick-nes disease could act up)
Other than them, if something new legal wise is up with kinikuman or saint seiya, or they don't want to distract Fist of the north star fans from the other game, or Watsuki-effect no other past series seem to be likely to get caught in red tape.
Also, while JUS was the better game, it was jstars that managed to do the… Jump to the west, so at least those 52+ characters and their series should be fair game licencing wise, while the JUS bunch (for example, kinikuman, yu GI oh, slam dunk, captain tsubasa) are unknown territory.
Judging from what I've seen, I doubt I'll ever get the game. It doesn't look fun to me like OP:BB before.
Regarding the roster, I just would like for World Trigger to get representation (Yuma and Jin as the most likely candidates). Just to get some life back to that manga I love while praying for the mangaka's return.
Picture this: Yuma as the point character, doing things with the scorpion and just beign there taking hits and being the actual character, osamu in the back line, showing up for some ranged specials with the asteroid/meteor or the spider, and chika as longer range special as she snipes in from far away, with either energy or lead bullets, depending on how true to her character they want to be.
I'm very optimistic about this game. I see noticeable improvements from J-Stars and Burning Blood.
Maybe there's some hope for Yugi now that Snake is back in a new Smash game.
Yugi worked very well in JUS, swords of revealing light and revive monsters, gearfreed and celtic guardian, throw giant dice and capsule monsters, black magician and black magician girl, the egypcian gods as super attack.

He also used Kuribo to block.
But what would Pot of Greed do?
I'm definitely maining Zoro after seeing that sick detailed one sword style lion strike. Sasuke moveset is awesome too, I like how they zoom on his face for his attacks and amaterasu feels more realistic than J Stars Victory VS.
I can't wait to see Ace, Boa Hancock, and Akainu.
