It’s not about wanting her to join, it’s about trying to make a right prediction given the the hints Oda give us.
I wanted Paulie to join 15 years ago, and i was still hoping for him to join after Frankys flashback, fanboying and making up reasons similair to what people are doing with Carrot these days.
Although I do reckon that Carrots character standout more than Paulie ever did, and I do understand why people want her to join, but Oda hasnt given us any reason to believe she will be more than a temporary ally that she is today. -

while everything else about her seems to be going straight forwardly into being revealed as Hiyori.

Its a shonen manga, you'd better believe every main character is getting a fight in the final battle.
Yeah, but some might have team fights.
Each one having 1 on 1 sounds too linear too me. And SH win in each of their separate matches? Not much of a writing there.
All I'm saying is I expect something a little more creative from Oda.
-
Tama doesn't have to fight herself, that's what her ability is useful for. Remember how Luffy tamed Surume and he fought for him? Well, Tamas ability is made for this.
-
Doublefinger, Davy Back,Kumadori, Califa, Absalom, fodders on fishmen island. Plus support roles against Buggy, Enel, Oars, Cracker, Big Mom and such.
Pell, Tashigi, marine grunts, Yama, general zombies, and she tried to snap Moria's neck, and broke Hammond's spine. Plus support roles.
…. yeah, the only of those that could count as an individual fight beside the 3 fights I already mentioned (referring to Doublefinger, Kalifa and Yama) is Robin x Pell. Which happened before she became a SH, so no.
And 21 years, not 25.
That really makes a whole lot of difference for the point I was trying to pass, thank you for correcting.
Its a shonen manga, you'd better believe every main character is getting a fight in the final battle.
Most likely, but not a fact. Specially since we already got a dream by-the-rules 1x1 arc in Ennies Lobby and still 2 of the SH got out of it without their 1x1 (Robin and Usopp). Oda may perfectly go there, but his record doesn't really help us take it as an indisputable fact.
Tbh, since the introduction of Im, I'm starting to doubt if Teach will really be the final boss.

It could be, since she ties in Luffy fulfilling Aces promise to stop the famine, turning Luffy into the 'Ace' card.
I don't think theres any connection between Tama and Hiyori other than both being girls and from Wano, it doesn't make sense in the timeline so far, but it is possible and that would just make her another kind of Shirahoshi character.
But Oda blatantly showing us Tamas dream and Ace promise to bring her along is the strongest hints for a newly introduced character to be the next crewmate we've had since Luffy asking Brook to join in his first appearance.
Of course there's a lot of obstacles in the way for her joining, she needs to prove she is worthy being a strawhat outside of Aces promise, and she needs to accomplish something important and not being a drag down and captured all the time, she will need equal panel time as the other strawhats like Franky and Brook got before they joined.
Tama doesn't have to fight herself, that's what her ability is useful for. Remember how Luffy tamed Surume and he fought for him? Well, Tamas ability is made for this.
Exactly, theres tons of monster tamers in mangas, animes and jrpgs. Luffys leading ability makes both beasts and people follow him, he is not exactly a monster tamer in that sense.
Shirahoshi would be the best example in one piece, her ability is so overpowered that she is titled as a ancient weapon.
Tamas ability power is more balanced and takes effort to perform since she has to make them eat her mochi first.
@.access:Tbh, since the introduction of Im, I'm starting to doubt if Teach will really be the final boss.
Same here, while Blackbeard is Luffys main rival to become the pirate king, Im seems to represent something bigger, like end of the whole world kind of threat.

Wasn't that obvious? SH vs. WG will be after Luffy became pirate king and to become pirate king he has to defeat BB.

I swear the first chapter of One Piece made it fairly clear that kids can't sail on the seas, a fact Luffy was made completely aware. This discussion with Tama being a potential nakama shouldn't even be a topic of discussion. You can argue if she's Hiyori or not, but she's not a character capable of exploring the New World.

And that was 21 years ago.
Doflamingo had kids on his crew, Fisher Tiger had Koala on his ship for a while, Shanks joined Roger at 11 years old, we are seeing Momo travelling from punk hazard through dressrosa, zou to Wano, Capone got his baby on his crew, after Corazons death Law went traveling and formed a piratecrew with Bepo and the others as kids, Sabo set out to sail as a kid, doflamingo himself went traveling as a kid, theres plenty of examples.
The only reason she is up for discussing is simple, Ace promised to let her on his crew the next time he goes to Wano if she is strong enough. Ace is dead, Luffy is there and already formed a deep bond with her, all she needs to do now is to prove she is strong enough, and considering her power it is not impossible.
She is the most valid candidate we've had since Jinbei, she might not join, she might be another Shirahoshi character, princess or someone Luffy will meet again the end of the series but she is definitly a valid candidate and up for discussion.
-
her relationship with Ace could just be a symbolic thing, being 'Ace' the only important card missing from the whole 'Joker, Jack, King, Queen' scenario.
10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace usually present an ascending order of value in some card games (for instance the Royal Flush). Now, for Kaido's crew we got Jack, Queen and King. And also "10". VERY likely X-Drake. Who do you think will be the "card of highest value" in Kaido's crew?
Kaido himself is the Ace, even if he is not being named that way. Still, the theme is clearly visible.
Yes, Ace is also named after a playing card, but I don't think this has anything to do with Kaido's crew. Ace's and Kaido's crew simply have similiar playing card themes.

Lol at listing off a bunch of kid characters as if their context for sailing works for Tama. Oh yeah Momo went out to sea sure, doesn't look like he wanted any of that though. Oh Chimney, not like she's associated with a sea train or anything. But then there's Sabo, that sure went well for him, or psychopathic world noble Doffy. So let's have a little girl with zero combat ability or use to the crew head out to sea and join the blackbeard showdown. How it's gonna happen: Wano will be saved, and Tama will get a tearful farewell, happy in her now safe homeland, same as any other arc ally. The mental gymnastics you people go through for ridiculous ideas is astounding

it was a simple response to that kids can not sails the seas, when in fact theres been plenty of them.
Theres no mental gymnastics in play, while the idea might be crazy of her joining, Oda still put it our heads simply by deciding Ace to promise her to join his crew.
-
Tama isnt Hiyori obviously. Kiku didnt recognize her at all.. She's just our open door to Wano and tying Ace into the story. She likely has more going for her, but from an emotional standpoint.
I'm much more inclined to believe Hiyori had to stay in the past for other reasons, and is an adult right now. My guess is she is the possible Kunoichi playing the music in the act openers and closers. Her potential is there to be a deeply centric character this arc and possible have a role to play with Luffy.
In a perfect world, Wano is the end of the crew gathering, adding multiple crew members by its end. We know we have Jinbe, but the idea of a Mink and possible Ninja on the crew is fun to think about. If they are Carrot and Hiyori, I'm down for it. Carrot has Pedro's dream possibly to follow, and Hiyori has possible connections to the Void Century and the advantage of possibly being 20 years older than Momo.
I do just hope Oda makes up for the last 400-500 chapters without a new crew member soon. I want to experience that sense of adventure with everyone again for a few more arcs. If it doesn't happen this arc, I don't understand how it's possible for the remaining of the story.
So yea, putting my money on Jinbe, Carrot and possibly Hiyori (possible due to context and assumptions of her backstory) joining by the end of this arc.
-

All of those (with the exception of Momo/Pez, which I'll get to in a sec) happened in flashbacks. When have we seen 10 year olds in the current timeline setting sail with or without pirate crews while doing pirating activities? Momo himself has been sailing with others, but not as a pirate and it's disingenuous to lump in in. Pez is an infant and has no say in what his parents do. Should we consider him a pirate by association?
Fact is, Tama will not set sail and it's crazy that people are even trying to entertain something like that. She's a link for Luffy to the problems in Wano as well as Ace's connection to the place. That's all. She's a member of the Kozuki clan along with Momo. Her role at the end of the arc won't be to leave everything she cares about to become a pirate and take on enemies like BB and the WG. She's state her future goal just like Momo, which she couldn't accomplish by leaving.

As I said before, that was simply examples of kids sailing on the sea, since somebody said that he never seen kids sailing.
Fact is, Tama and Ace had a promise that she would join his crew, and in order to do that she would become an enchanting kunoichi.
It has never been stated she is a member Kozuki clan, while Hitetsu is probably affiliated with them, Tama is born years after the Kozuki clan was active.
Everything she cares about? The only thing she cared about was Aces return, hence waiting for him at the ruined village of amigasa for four years. You are right about she can't accomplish her goal, since Ace is dead not because she has to stay in Wano or whatever you are implying.
I see that people really aren't keen on the possibility of her joining, but making up facts and taking things out of context is the only "mental gymnastics" and ridiculous things here.
-
The first 6 crewmembers are all pretty young, even for One Piece standards. Since Robin, all new members were significantly older than our East Blue crew. Might be a pattern, which, if true, doesn't bode well for Tama at all.
-

Most likely, but not a fact. Specially since we already got a dream by-the-rules 1x1 arc in Ennies Lobby and still 2 of the SH got out of it without their 1x1 (Robin and Usopp). Oda may perfectly go there, but his record doesn't really help us take it as an indisputable fact.
For the FINAL arc of the series, Oda is going to go all out and give everyone a chance to win a fight, against their evil mirror counterparts that he's been setting up for 17 years. (and closer to 27 when we get there.) He can't do it every arc because each character getting 2-3 chapters a fighter takes a solid year at this point. The last time he was able to do it properly was Alabasta and the crew was much smaller then.
Also, Robin beat the shit out of Spandam once she was freed, and Usopp's big fight for that arc… was against Luffy. He made up for not having a fight then by having one of the only solo fights the next arc against Perona.
Tbh, since the introduction of Im, I'm starting to doubt if Teach will really be the final boss.
We don't know enough about Im yet to really make any judgement calls. But is their final battle really going to be against one guy with flunkies introduced at the very last minute, while sidelining the story arc for all the good marines? Doesn't seem right. They'll face Im, since he gives clear face to beat up in order to beat the government, and probably in the final war, but the placement of his reveal goes against all the buildup Oda's been doing for the BB crew as parallels and long term final villains..
-
I think the most obvious case of pirate kids in One Piece is the Charlotte family. We don't know if the likes of Anana are already considered part of the crew as young as they are, but Katakuri flashback already had him, his twins, Perospero and Brulee traveling around on a ship when they were obviously around 10 at best so, yeah.
Kids traveling with pirate crews, either as members or companions, exist in OP. Simply recognizing that fact is no mental gymnastics - trying to nitpick why each example wouldn't work for a lot of different made-on-the-spot reasons is, though.
As for the SH… like I mentioned in the "edit reason", I think Chopper pretty much was reduced to the kid of the crew. He manages to give a child vibe even when he is alone with Carrot and is supposedly taking the role of the "older brother". Only for that reason I don't think an actual kid is joining the SH (they already got one kid of sorts).
-
Every single example of pirate kids is from either villains or kids who can not return to their homes.
Is like the author is implying that this is a morally wrong thing to do, since chapter one, or something that happens out of dire needs.

So the SH could have a kid member as long as Oda creates a scenario where this kid is left homeless? We are not really disagreeing here.
-
It's very clear though, that Oda likes to draw Chopper as one of the most vulnerable members of the crew, who he often shields from fights or "harsher stuff". tama would be this role in overdrive.

Well, there is Columbus in Orlumbus crew, i think she is considered to be one of the good guys.
Law and Bepo started at a young age as well.

uh… Shanks? He was 11 when joined/became an apprentice on Roger's ship

Tama should try experimenting with her powers. Like pulling out a bunch of Mochi….then shaping them into a pair of nunchaku.

Why does it matter whether they're villains or orphans or whatever?
You said "No kids on pirate ships."
That's a bullshit statement, because we've seen otherwise. Try to get your head out of your a** and be a little bit open minded. -
Law, the Ultra orphan, and Bepo a missing member from a race of animal folk.
Colombus and Orlombus, who weren't fully pirates until like a month ago.
Shanks, who is the one who keept Luffy out of his boat for being too young.
Open minded to what? To things that Oda explicitelly spoke against in chapter one?
-

@Gia:

Kiku immediately jumped to her rescue, putting herself in danger and Kin'emons plan along with her actions.
she's just likely acting as if she didn't know so Tama doesn't get murdered for being Oden's daughter. -

I see the point your making, that any good pirate crew wouldnt take a away a child from their home.
But it's not like Tama has a home, her village, the so called strawhat village was destroyed by Drake a year ago.
Tama and Hitetsu are the only people left in the ruined village, Hitetsu waiting for "someone" which is probably Kinemon and co, and Tama waiting for Ace.
Unless Tama is Hiyori sent 12 years to the future alone, she is an orphan and her home is in ruins with no kin what so ever that we know of.
The way her character is set up she will follow Aces footsteps sooner or later, whether it will be with Luffy or not remains to be seen. -
And break his promise to Shanks?
The way things are shaping up right now with Blackbeard getting involved, I wouldn't be too surprised if Wano is a much larger arc than we thought and Shanks got involved somewhere.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@.access:
there is no reason for each and every SH to necessarily have fighting abilities.
Luffy once proudly said that no one on his crew was unable to take care of themselves. It doesn't mean that they all have to be monsters, but they should at least be able to deal with fodder. I don't see why he would go against that.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
An apprentice isn't thought of as a normal member of the crew
No real point cutting hairs here. If they're sailing with the crew all the way to raftel, then they're part of the crew.

Probably the only time I'll actually agree with you.
oh come on, I at least got some pretty good zoro opinions
-
The best theory I’ve seen is that she’s basically the one piece version of Boruto next generations…
What's "best" about that theory?!
-
No real point cutting hairs here. If they're sailing with the crew all the way to raftel, then they're part of the crew.
I disagree to some extent. Yes they're part of the in the sense that they're physically on the ship but doesn't mean they're considered to be full-fledged members of the crew. We see that when Inuarashi was talking about apprentices on Roger's ship. Maybe they're given some chore or task but we're not going to see them in 1v1 matchups against the Blackbeard pirates.
-
What's "best" about that theory?!
Because it best explains all the parallels to kid Luffy… I mean she’s still 8 years old so she ain’t going out to sea any time soon so it’s basically the same as Luffy who was too young to go out to sea... The only reason I see this parallel being made yet it’s not going to be completed in the actual series since we're certainly not getting a 10 year time skip, is so that we can have the Next generation pirates bring set up... But of course Oda’s not going to write another pirate series so the next generation pirates will be used like a book end to One Piece... The first chapter Romance Dawn has a kid growing up to become a man and go out to sea, and the last chapter of One Piece when the Dawn of the World has been reached, we see a kid growing up to become a woman and go out to sea... A perfect Book end
-
So what do you think will happen to Ashura ? He already said several time he is looking for a lord to serve under. Luffy is the best candidate for that since he seems to be not found of momotaru.
So will momo do something to change is mind ? Will he join the fleet or will we have a samourai (with white hairs) in the crew ? -

So will momo do something to change is mind ? Will he join the fleet or will we have a samourai (with white hairs) in the crew ?It’s been set up that Momonosuke has to be the one to convince Ashura since that will create actual stakes… The way Luffy is, it seems it won’t even be a big deal to convince Shutenmaru so there’s basically no drama or story there, there’s no clash of ideals even... If Momo is the one to do it though then there’s an actual story to be told there and one that’s more interesting than Luffy has all of Oden’s characteristics so let’s follow him...
Shutenmaru seems a bit too irritable to join the crew... People used to say Jinbei carried no chills but this this guy takes it to a whole other level
-
maybe he ends up following Zoro
-
Yes, naturally I’ll be comparing her to Carrot. She and Jinbe are the ones set to join as far as I’m concerned, and not merely because of “a few panels of worth”. But don’t get me wrong, the problems I see with Tama are still there when compared to any current member of the crew, as well.
Alright, I'm not that interested in Carrot yet at least, I just want to bring some spotlight on Tama.
Nami, Usopp, Chopper are characters that are much weaker than their companions. Yet, they’re clever and have resolve to save themselves in fights against enemies who could easily kill them. Tama nearly was killed. She was relying on a familiar to protect her, and that failed. She has nothing else to fall back on besides that party trick. Any of those SHs could come up with any number of strategies to make it through, or at least use their own leg power to get themselves out of there. Tama simply doesn’t have the basic physical capabilities to defend herself, so the drama would either come from her getting a convenient familiar every time, or have someone on the crew jumping in to take on her fights. That would fly once, not for the entire series.
Yeah, she would have the weakest physical capabilities in crew, but she would also have one of the strongest powers that would balance it out.
Letting her monsters fight for her is what a monster tamer do, and it creates more diversity in group overall.
Similair to Nami having someone saving her ass all the time or carrying her around, ultimately it depends how the scenario is written.
And One Piece is coming to an end, i don't think we have time for it getting old.The same goes for the Sea King thing. If Tama was taming one, just one, that’d be fine. But we’d have to have that power used any time a Sea King or Sea Beast ever comes back, or else have her conveniently absent again, or just have no more monsters at sea. Where’s the drama in that?
The drama would come from first attempting to tame the beast, and then she can use the beast to fend of other beast.
it creates new situations and scenarios we have not seen before, instead of always running away or having Luffy wanting to bbq the beast , we have third option to make it into an ally, which is definitely a cool feature.
With her powers and Jinbeis underwater prowess, the strawhats would have a unique ability to handle seakings that no other crew might have, and that may be one of the keys to reach Raftel. But what makes her on par with any of those flashback children? Or any child character up to now? I could draw comparisons to Aisa from Skypiea, who also had a pretty nifty ability. Or filler-y Apis who was adored by the crew and would have made a fine Straw Hat in their eyes. And of course, all of us hated her.
I don't watch the anime so I have no idea about the apis-filler arc.
The similarities with Aisa and Tama ends with both being young girls and having a special power.
She has her own narrative and backround that she doesnt share with anyone else and she fittingly tie in with the pretimeskip due to her relationship with Ace.
Ace made a strawhat to Oars Jr, Tama has been weaving hats everyday to get an income, and due to Ace and Tamas strong relationship we can assume she is the one who taught Ace to make a hat for Oars jr conveniently linking her to pre timeskip, which is exactly what is needed for post timeskip character to join the crew.
When she tamed the baboon, she implied that she has been trying to tame him many times before, and that the baboon is finally one of the good guys, so she is one of the characters that has been fighting back Kaidous oppression in her own kind of way.
Aaaand she stayed in the ruins of strawhat village after all the other villagers left, because of Ace, the most important persn in her life, waiting for him without any other proof than a promise to come back one day and suddenly Luffy the little brother of Ace shows up.
She already adores Luffy, how will she react when she finds out he is Ace little brother?Carrot has that aesthetic too, in a non-lolicon sorta way. She’s certainly fit for the role of being a little sister. She literally calls Chopper Cho-niki, Cho-bro, big bro Chopper.
Are you implying that Tama is a lolicon?
Tama calls the person that matter, aniki. A term that gangs, and tomboyish girls use.She is not yet a kunoichi, and you're basically hoping she’ll become one, and a great one at that, by the end of the arc. As for Speed, one could make the argument the Smile fruit made her literally and permanently half a real animal, so that’s why the dango worked on her.
I'm not hoping she will be one, she said so herself.
And naturally when a one piece character says they want to be something, they will usually become a great one at that. All the time. We literally saw Guard Point last chapter. Brook’s power was a major part of the battle against Big Mom. These powers are a big part of who they are, as much as their designs and personalities. Tama’s power would have to be utilized quite a bit to make it worthwhile, and by the same token, it’s way too broken and could easily ruin any suspense left when dealing with the giant monsters of the OP world.
So we see Brook using soul power once an arc, we havn't even seen Choppers hornpoint since fishman island.
Just as we might see her taming a few animals an arc, either for fighting or convience use of like flying, riding or swimming, and save the most monstrous beast she will tame for the last battle.Like I said before, it’s not strictly the power that’s the problem. With proper checks and balances, a beat tamer could be interesting. But as it stands now, the power and Tama wielding it is merely a plot device, a MacGuffin meant to give the bad guys a reason to chase after her. But more than that, she’s not ready to find creative uses for that power. In someone else’s hands, maybe. But you can’t teach a kid to use the microwave and expect fine dining.
I agree, as it stands for now.
She already found a new way to use her power, albeit thanks to Luffy, taming a zoan user. What counts, among the various other things we’ve discussed, is that being a strong fighter period is what counts. She’s not Luffy, she’s not going to get insta-buffed with a proper meal. She’s not yet a kunoichi or even a real fighter, she hasn't learned to take care of herself like Nami, and she isn’t going to magically gain those essential skills in two weeks.
I disagree, this is not DBZ, all strawhats have their own strength and weaknesses, it is time for a weaker character but with potential superstrong power to join, especially after getting a powerhouse like Jinbei, and three decent midtier fighters like Robin, Franky and Brook.
And except for the kidnapping which conveniently happened when Luffy arrived, she has been taking care of herself.Epilogue is one thing, someday is one thing. I don’t see it happening at the end of this arc.
I think we will see pretty soon what her role is supposed to be depending on her actions and character development.
Lets see if a proper medical check up, good food, and her being the reason that Luffy went to jail will make her do anything noteworthy or if she will be put on the sideline now when theres so many characters in the story. This might be the last arc we get a new crewmate in the series, one of the most exciting parts of the series. The Franky vs Paulie discussion before enies lobby, and reading brennens posts about jinbei and memes like Jinbei is too big to go through Sunnys doors are some of the most memorable moments in this forum, I hope we can keep this thread healthy and open!
I think this is pretty interesting as well, could be a coincidence but worth taking a look at anyway, both Jinbei and Tama appearing with the whole crew!

My point was that no comparison with Boruto can be good…
And I don't necessarily think the manga should end on such a note, tbh. Just the SHs chilling/continuing their adventure would be best.

maybe he ends up following Zoro
He may follow Zoro or Luffy like into an actual fight but it’s been set up that Momonosuke has to be the oneto actually convince him to fight in the first place… Like imagine if the arc ends and It was Luffy or Zoro who left an impression Shutenmaru, it would be back to square one where the guy only respects a person Affiliated to Momonosuke and not Momonosuke himself

I didn’t say it SHOULD… I’m proposing a way it could end... And this waybis honestly better since it’s a literal book end to a 20+ year old story and that’s very hard to pull off... Besides Book ends are pretty popular in Japanes theatre so...
I guess comparing to Boruto was bad but it’s not like Boruto was the first to do it, they copied it from somewhere else and it’s worked before... It just shows that the stories will never end, like the whole “Inherited will” thing... It can be pretty effective if done right

Alright, I'm not that interested in Carrot yet at least, I just want to bring some spotlight on Tama.
And One Piece is coming to an end, i don't think we have time for it getting old.The drama would come from first attempting to tame the beast, and then she can use the beast to fend of other beast.
it creates new situations and scenarios we have not seen before, instead of always running away or having Luffy wanting to bbq the beast , we have third option to make it into an ally, which is definitely a cool feature.
With her powers and Jinbeis underwater prowess, the strawhats would have a unique ability to handle seakings that no other crew might have, and that may be one of the keys to reach Raftel.I don't watch the anime so I have no idea about the apis-filler arc.
She already adores Luffy, how will she react when she finds out he is Ace little brother? Are you implying that Tama is a lolicon?
Tama calls the person that matter, aniki. A term that gangs, and tomboyish girls use.I'm not hoping she will be one, she said so herself.
And naturally when a one piece character says they want to be something, they will usually become a great one at that.So we see Brook using soul power once an arc, we havn't even seen Choppers hornpoint since fishman island.
Just as we might see her taming a few animals an arc, either for fighting or convience use of like flying, riding or swimming, and save the most monstrous beast she will tame for the last battle.I agree, as it stands for now.

We’ve seen the drawbacks of having purely weak children in a crew… Sugar had by far the most broken ability in the Verse and when shit went down, She still needed a babysitter... It’s even weird in that situation since Sugar was actually a grown up and she still slacked like a kid... Having bodyguards for a character is bad news if we expect actual 1v1 fights

Tama's powers are very circumstantial and would not be of benefit in every situation the crew comes across. This really takes me back to when people honestly wanted Shirahoshi to join the crew. Despite the obvious factor that she was just too plain big, she was physically weak, had no combat-ability to speak of, and her only selling point was taming and controlling large creatures to fight in her stead and use to her will.
Huh, doesn't that sound familiar…

If used as O-tama's primary fighting/problem-solving ability, it leaves very little opportunity to display personal growth, since everything comes down to the capabilities of the creatures she tames rather than her own skills. In order to show that she herself is getting stronger/better/etc., O-tama would have to deliberately go out of her way to try to do something herself WITHOUT making use of her animal companions, at which point we loop back around to asking what skills she currently has besides beast taming and hat weaving…
I can see it working splendidly for a slightly older O-tama (3-5 years would be enough) who has received a modest amount of kunoichi training, as even low-level ninja skills would allow her to fight ALONGSIDE her animal companions, but I don't envision seeing her sitting back and playing Pokemon Master as being particularly entertaining.

Haha, pokemon master cracked me up, but I agree.
It wouldn't make sense if she's been hiding any kunoichi techniques when she really needed them, the only other option would be if she learn something during the arc but thats just speculation.

I think you mean "loli". A lolicon is a pedophile.

It reminds me more of the vol 52 cover with Rayleigh:
[HIDE][/HIDE]
Both are standing in front of the crew rather than being more integrated with it like Jimbei was.

Especially since her stated goal is to be a kunoichi. That doesn't really mesh with her power.
