I just caught up. I think. That jungle moon episode? Man this show is a trip lol.
-
-
The new eps are out on the app!
! I really loved this batch! We got some gem lore/story stuff, Garnet development, and some really good townie eps. Plus Joan Jett! Something for everyone in this batch.
-
! For some reason, I couldn't help but grin through all the episodes, guess Im just happy to see more SU for so long.
! They all were really good and glad we got the answer we were all waiting for…who was going to run the big donut?
! The off-colors being complimented for the first time was kinda funny with Garnet being so excited to meet them, especially Rhodonite(oh Garnet wants a steamy stoey from them it seems)
! Other than that, the graininess of the Saide Killer episode was cool and Greg finally can live vicariously through a succesful band!
! All in all, great batch~–- Update From New Post Merge ---
! On a more serious note, Garnet's story is pretty faulty now that we know more about how Pink was supposedly shattered. We also have the zoo, which when you think about it, was Pink's way of preserving the human race. For someone who supposedly didn't care about the life on her planet sure did want to hold onto humans…even if it was for zoo purposes.and then there's what Steven said to Garnet at the end of the episode, what if Pink is still around?
-
Latest set of eps was a nice fun batch, forward movement. WAAAAY too much is being put onto "when Lars gets to Earth" though… methinks that'll signal the big finale event.
Also this is a thing.
-
-
That video is great lol.
Did they real more than just those 4 episodes? Or were you referring to the batch that released last week?
-
Or were you referring to the batch that released last week?
There is a Lapis half-hour special on next weekend, and CN France would show a couple more new episodes but backed down onto showing S1 reruns.
This next executive approach to run a show is very frustrating. -
! I really enjoy these episodes. There were just a lot of character development in these episodes. "The Big Show" have to be one of my favorite episodes of the series now. Since I really like that they went with the documentary route for the episode.
-
I dont know if you saw the dove ad with jasper and amethyst but
While this is moderately cheeky, I also the take the 2 Years Contract as soft confirmation for S6.
Here is the video btw
-
I don't think that this indicates nothing .

This is actually pretty neat. Although I still believe that dealing with such issues organically in-universe can be even more successful.
-
That's when we arrive at the "very special episode" trope, and doing these kinds of things is a season one deal.
Look at the latest Ronaldo episode to see that they did the VSE about toxic fandom and it was a bore, totally out of character, disconected from everything else, and lacked the momentum needed for a chapter that might be in the last 20 of the series.
-
Although we have no confirmation on the renewal of the series, the VAs posted about recordings this year, so we still have a couple more rounds before we can say it's warping up.
-
Be weary of crazy true spoilers that came out today.
Plus keep an eye out for new episodes this week I think?
-
LOL Extreme fail from cartoon network.
Do not look for it. Do not think about it.
-
Shit. Youtube's gonna fuck it up for me again, won't it.
-
I don't care about spoilers, but this one was ridiculous. It's extremely disrespectful towards the show watchers the level of amateurism CN employs when dealing media for this show.

So anyone that has seen the spoilers without rebealing anything about them do they basically heavily suggest there'll be a season 6
-
CN really messed up huge this time. I haven't seen them miss up like this in a long time.
-
@Long:

Unless it's a dream sequence (and CN yanking the video suggests that it's not), no, no, they most certainly do not.
-
Full disclousure of the CONTEXT (not the content) of the great spoiler so anyone can just try their hardest to ignore it:
! It was part of an animator interview with Rebecca Sugar, where she talked about how much she loves animation and what it means to her. The interview starts normal with cuts from early seasons, until like halfway through the video, it shows scenes from future episodes, fully animated. It starts inocent enough, until the gravity of what you have seen hits you.
! Why do the people who makes these features hold such content without knowing it's context? It is ridiculous.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Cartoon network reposted the interview, no spoilers this time. It in itself is great, but that makes the original leak so cruel.
Just the interview in the tag.
!
-
My sister sent me a message about this, she saw the spoiler and was really upset about it. I don't want to know what it is. I swear that someone at CN just likes to fuck with Steven Universe.
-
I didn't expect that plot twist to happen…
! I can't believe Pink Diamond is Rose. The upcoming episodes are going to be really interesting now.
-
! So Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond. Yeah, I kinda suspected it for a while, but…wow. Although I'm a little confused as to how thet pulled off the switcheroo.
! Also, DAMMIT LAPIS! -
HO-LY @#$% just saw the special….my mind just got blown to bits.
i am beyond speechless, they dropped the grand-daddy of all bombs tonight!
-
The twist as done in a superb fashion, bravo.
Also [hide]
Greg fucked a diamond. [/hide]
Also again
[hide][/hide] -
I can't find anywhere to watch it…Season 5 episode 17 is like...An episode called Catch and Release. I'm confused by the content of that's supposed to be new.
Their crappy apps doesn't even have them like it did the 1st batch.
-
OH MY GOD!
The ending was unexpected -
-
! Rose: IT'S ME, JASPER! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG, JASPER!
! Garnet: Aw son of a bitch!
! Rose: YOU ALL BOUGHT IT! HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER! EVEN MY ARMY! EVEN THE ARMY THAT SERVED UNDER ME FOR YEARS AND YEARS BOUGHT IT! -
Me trying to go to sleep after the special tonight.
-
Seriously….Where are you guys seeing it?

Uh, becareful on 17 at the end since the promo for the summer special is right after the episode is done. My mistake.
-
! I was confused at first about how much I liked this. 1 hour later and I love it.
! As someone who hated the RQ=PD theories I couldn't be happier with the execution
! This works so well narratively when you trace it back, the crew clearly had an idea where they were going. The character implications of this are narratively amazing.
! Pearls behavior in Rose's scabbard makes so much more sense now, along with her angry look at steven. There's got to be some level of anger for rose mixed in with her love and admiration there. It's why she was so dead set that rose told her everything and also answers why pearl was always so secretive. Rose issuing the gag order instead of her telling her was kind of a messed up thing to do.
! Rose's character is even more established. She ran away from her duties as the leader by having steven but before that she ran away from her duties as the colony leader of earth. Playing a game of duplicity to both sides and faking her own death to be free of the tough choice between actively declaring herself PD a rebel or allowing the colonization to continue. So it plays into her being a liar and running away from her problems while also having her still hold the guilt for the diamonds revenge.
! It also heavily messes with the propaganda of the homeborn rebel from the soldier class that garnet so believe in and in the promo we see that really has affected ruby and sapphire as it leads to her running away. The idea that their leader was PD after they spent thousands of years shit talking her is great. It also makes fluorites statement of "rose quartz being a myth hilarious in hindsight.
! Jasper is gonna be tumbling down Mount Everest with how big of a shock this is to her. It also paves the way for jasper redemption to come easier as she doesn't have to forgive Rose for killing Pink Diamond. But what PD did will still trigger a ton of emotions in her as well as take away the goal she was determined to put her life on the line for.
! Makes me wonder if part of the reason RQ said no shattering to bismuth was also because they were her sisters that would have died.
! Oh yeah the diamonds, they are gonna be really pissed at pink once they find out what she did. Probably a little happy she is alive but I could see yellow diamond wanting to drop kick steven into outer space.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also to Robby, who opposed me for my long running theory...maybe too long running for it's own good but anyways....
Season 6 has been unofficially confirmed by the latin America voicecasL

A very unique way of making an obvious twist, a little less obvious.
Nicely done.
-
! Sorry Lapis, no one cares about you right now.
! So, Pink Diamond was a brat who wanted a planet like a diamond is supposed to, obtained it, fell in love with it, started undermining her own autority, staged her own death, continued the war when her family was actually sad/angry at her death, continued the war when her subbordinates decided to start shattering gems, or the diamonds capturing them into magic mirrors or doing the crazy beam, and keept the lie just to Garnet (and then Amethist) for who know how many thousand years, went on to do experiments on earth life and fail to heal the corrupted gems, just to leave her identity behind, again, when another oportunity presented itself.
! I don't like Rose right now. She keept this secret even when the war escalated, even when it was meaningless to Garnet, even when it hurts pearl, and the secret is that it was a diamond who decided that gems should be free.
! The rebelion was built on a lie. -
! Can't Go Back: Man, Lapis's song has to have the most beautiful melody of any song on the show. Without even listening to the lyrics that thing makes me feel feelings. I guess when Lapis first left, we didn't get to dive into the psychological meat of the thing, since we were in the Steven/Connie arc. It makes sense that Lapis would leave again, since a pep talk definitely wouldn't be enough to undo all the damage, but maybe the gears in her head are starting to turn a little. It's for the best that she isn't around right now, though, since I don't know how she'd process the fact that Steven…
! A Single Pale Rose:: …is Pink Diamond! I never left the Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond camp, since Steven/Rose just had too many strong powers to be a regular soldier class gem. Granted that I never expected it would end up in this particular way. Now that this nugget of lore is on the tray, though, there's a lot of implications to dissect that affect the entire series. The most immediate one is Garnet's reaction, but not too far behind are those of Jasper and Bismuth. I really hope we explore those characters again, because they are changed completely in this new light of revelation. Jasper's diamond is still there, but was also the reason she ended up so lost and empty. Bismuth saw her friends shattered by the diamonds, and her leader, a diamond herself, never let her get revenge, then imprisoned her for intending to harm Homeworld's legions. There's a lot to dig into there. Not to mention the fact that the rebellion, all about carving out your identity distinct from the authoritarian leadership of the diamonds was... lead by Pink Diamond. I am super excited for the probably two episodes we'll get this summer. -
! The human zoo, the gallery of frozen Quartzs.
! Unless the corruption beam was very soon after the shattering, there is a lot of blood on Rose's hands.
! Did Bismut present the breaking point before or after the shattering? There are a ton of episodes that I have to see again. -
! Sorry Lapis, no one cares about you right now.

! The rebelion was built on a lie.! Yep, pretty much this:
Rose is the real villain of this show, and by proxy Steven.
Bravo Sucrose you made us root for the villain, a bold move now let's see how it plays out. -
Spoiler that. ASAP.

Thank you! Also holy crap.

We are just after a big leak, not everyone could be paying attention to the thread because of it.
! Steven being responsible of Rose's crimes is like claiming that he's guilty because of Greg's actions or something. It makes no sense.
! Another piece of the shitshow that Rose put up. That she was part of the oppresors? If she had come out instead of masquerading, the breaking point being "the breaking point", she still could have been a symbol. -
! Did Bismut present the breaking point before or after the shattering? There are a ton of episodes that I have to see again.
! The Bismuth thing was almost definitely before PD was "shattered," considering it had to be before the diamonds' final attack, which was in retaliation to PD being killed. Also, if Bismuth knew Rose Quartz could shatter another gem, then her dispute with Rose would probably be a lot different in nature. Also also, Garnet's telling of the story of the Crystal Gems places them meeting and joining Rose before the shattering event.

! I was merely joking Steven is innocent, but this cements that Rose is a horrible gem in almost every aspect. Can even imagine the guilt she must have felt in the past 5000 years that due to her eager actions almost all the gems she wanted to save were lost. And the duo identity leaves some timeline questions, as how let's say Pearl was not identified as being Pink's Pearl, or why Blue Diamond was on Earth to deal with the rebellion when Garnet was born, or when exactly the Breaking Point incident happened.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
! The timeline in my head goes something like this:
Pink gains a colony -> Finds humankind fascinating so creates a zoo to save them while builds the colony -> Falls deeper in love with Earth and it's life and saddened by the burden of destruction the colony will bring starts masquerading as Rose Quartz with her Pearl as sidekick -> "The Crystal Gems" starts sabotaging the colony progress and recruiting new gems -> Cries for Blue's Help -> The events of "The Answer" happen -> The Crystal Gems movement starts gaining momentum -> Beta Kindergarten is created to amass anti-rebellion forces, Jasper is born -> Fights keep ongoing -> The breaking point incident happens, bubbles Bismuth -> Fakes her death thinking that it would end Homeworld attention over Earth, underestimated her older sisters love for her -> Strawberry Fields Battle happen ending with the corruption wave.
Yeah, I think this fits nicely. -

Season 6 has been unofficially confirmed by the latin America voicecasL
Does the latin america show also count season 1 as the initial batch of 52 episodes or did they count that as two seasons? Is the VA keeping track given the erratic schedule of releases and recording? Giving a number off the top of their head?
Either way, its been three years since Cartoon Network last officially said anything about new episodes, (March 2015) and two years since they split the numbering to make it seem like more. That's a ridiculous amount of time to not have a renewal announcement in animation, especially given the lead times needed and the fact they have to publicly announce schedules waaaaay in advance.
The only thing going for it right now is it hasn't been officially announced to be ending like Adventure Time is and Regular Show did… though RS we didn't know was ending till close to the last minute.

I just think there's a lot more evidence for S6 than there is against it. They could always cut the show off after 5 regardless of what was made for 6 but I think we'll get there especially since a finale would be 9-10 episodes from now and the crewniverse on twitter mentioned there'd be a lot more surprises besides that huge leak ( which I wont mention on here )
I think it might take until S5 ends before a S6 announcement as silly as that would be
