@GolD.Ace22:
Are we really referring to Doflamingo as Mango now? lol.
Why should I call him anything else, he was so sweet after all.
And while I disagree on Luffy being able to accomplish either feat, I don't think either feat is impossible for him. He could've possibly defended the crew or been able to take on both Fujitora and Joker in a similar manner. After all he did take on 3 Admirals pre-timeskip.
Luffy would have been just fine, he can destroy cities now. Just look at what one punch did to Dressrosa.
It's fine if you don't agree, but it's a different premise. I am not saying he could defeat both Mango and Fuji at the same time. It doesn't even have to do with strength, One Piece is not about that. The intrucacies of their skills, the possible combination and clear advantage they have as a 2 v 1. But escape them and protect the crew, absolutely. It requires a different kind of skill.
That is without considering the crew's potential to fight back, just look at this arc. A direct confrontation would have been impossible, the entireity of it is a succession of hit and run tactics. Luffy got help from Brulee and Flampee? He still fought Cracker the night before, even with Nami's help, he was still the tank right in the middle of a biscuit army. Not to mention that he is in the middle of enemy territory. Brulee was useful, sure, but everytime Luffy came out of the mirror, he was within Tottoland, chased and attacked.
Really, removing context will just allow for anything to be viable from what we can imagine.
And I disagree again with you here. I don't think Law being honest about the situation would've helped anything. At the most I think it gets him more possible help so he isn't just blindly walking into Joker's trap.
You kinda contradict yourself, but let me rephrase. Law disclosing Mango's abilities can only be more beneficial to the mission. It gives time to strategize, prepare counter measures.
Why do you think Law(Oda) only told Nami about Mango using clouds to fly after the danger was gone? Because if not Mango gets blown out of the sky. The exact same strategy Law told Nami to use to prevent Mango from chasing them, if applied to when they were about to get attacked before Sanji came, would have dropped fly-boy to the sea. Arc over. The biggest difference between WCI and Dressrosa, which has allowed the SH in WCI to survive, is the fact that they came in knowing something about Big Mom's abilities, and their army.
And I'm truly baffled by our community. How can some people think that Katakuri or Cracker could've beaten Luffy in a 1v1 but not that Law could beat Doflamingo in a 1v1?? Do you really value the aide of Nami and the Seducing Woods Homies as greater than the aide of Trebol or Issho?? Is the assistance Luffy got from Brulee, Flambe & Flambe's goons really more valuable than the help of Trebol an elite officer in Doffy's crew or the help of Issho an Admiral in the marines??
=D
I mean, I think the notion is really pointless to argue. One Piece is not a manga where we see people fighting in a vacuum to define their strength. It has much more creativity than that and tries to add other factors to the fights to steer them away from that pure fighting notion.
Example 1: Katakuri vs Luffy, but isn't the mirror world a vacuum of sorts. Yeah until…..Flampee, Brulee and Kata's personality played into the direction the match took.
Although Flampee is a bad example, because her interference changed nothing in the fight when looking at the big picture. It just shortened the duration.
