(This post will likely be edited and expanded upon as we get closer to the start date. This is going up now to get signups rolling!)
Welcome to the newest entry in the Arlong Park Games library. This time, we're doing something a little different!
If you're new to these games, here's an overview on how both of the games work. This game will implement mechanics from both Survivor and Big Brother. Also, new players tend to thrive in these games more often than not, so don't be discouraged by being new if you want to sign up!
Big Brother
Players are put into a house with other players, and usually put into a free for all environment. The players select rooms daily, and are able to interact with other players in the rooms they pick. Each cycle (usually 5-7 days long each), players compete in a Head of Household competition, where the winner becomes the head of the house for the cycle. After that, the head of household must nominate two players in a nomination ceremony. The two nominees, the Head of Household, and 3 randomly selected players then participate in a power of veto competition. The winner of that competition can choose to take a nominee off the block, or refuse to use the power. Finally, the final day of the cycle is the eviction ceremony, where players cast their votes for the two nominees that are left on the block. The player with the most votes is evicted out of the game, and goes to the audience or the jury, depending on the time of their eviction.
*In the Big Brother TV show, have-not competitions are usually performed. The players that do the worst are usually put into a bedroom together and receive penalties in room selections. Currently, there are no plans to include this mechanic in this game.
Survivor
Players are separated into two or more tribes and must work with their tribe to win challenges. Along the way, players may form bonds with their fellow tribe members, and create alliances in order to continue to survive. Most cycles consist of a reward challenge, where rewards are earned for the tribe that wins, an immunity challenge, where the tribes fight for immunity from tribal council, and finally, a tribal council, where players of the tribe that is sent to the council must vote out one of their own. Depending on the timing of that vote, the player will be sent to the audience or the jury. At a certain point of the game, a merge occurs, where all players are placed into a singular tribe and must fight for themselves.
Now, for the veterans…. here's a brief explanation on how these two games will be combined.
Big Brother x Survivor
Players are separated into two or more tribes, and must work with their tribe to win challenges. Each tribe will live in a house, and players will choose rooms each day. The first competition of the week is the Head of Tribe (HOT) competition, where the players on each tribe compete against each other for the title. Next, the tribes will participate in an immunity challenge. The winner(s) of that immunity challenge will be safe from elimination that week, and the tribe(s) that lost will have to participate in a nomination ceremony. The Head of Tribe for that tribe will nominate two of their own for elimination. Next, the losing tribe(s) will participate in a Power of Veto competition. The winner of that will have the option to take one of the two nominees off the block. Finally, on eviction day, the tribe will vote out one of the two nominees remaining on the block.
*Some of these mechanics are subject to change, but the general flow of the game should remain the same as this description.

The hope is that this game will start sometime in early to mid February. This depends entirely on the feedback for the start date, and the number of players we get. Please post your opinion on the start date in this thread, so that I have a general vibe for what works best for most that sign up. The plan is to have many lightweight challenges this season, with challenges only taking a while if previously stated in the game schedule.
Please address all character requests to me, BellisarioFaith, or Kubihige. Forum PM or Discord PM them.
Eligible Characters Full list coming soon, but for now, a few points.
- All characters from any of the previous Big Brother or Survivor games are banned from play, except…
- Characters from Survivors 1-3. Enough time has passed since those games to allow those characters to reenter the fray. If a character appeared in any Big Brother game, they are ineligible. Survivor All Stars characters will still be eligible because the game did not finish, besides those that appeared in Survivor 7.
- The only exception to that is that you may not request a character that you previously portrayed in any of those three games or All Stars.
- 5 character requests must be sent in, with 1 being a female, 1 being a male, one being a prominent character, and the other two are up to you!
